1 O sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth!
Sing to the Lord a new song. Let all the earth sing to the Lord.
2 S ing to the Lord, bless (affectionately praise) His name; show forth His salvation from day to day.
Sing to the Lord. Honor His name. Make His saving power known from day to day.
3 D eclare His glory among the nations, His marvelous works among all the peoples.
Tell of His shining-greatness among the nations. Tell of His wonderful works among all the people.
4 F or great is the Lord and greatly to be praised; He is to be reverently feared and worshiped above all gods.
For the Lord is great and should be given much praise. He is to be honored with fear above all gods.
5 F or all the gods of the nations are idols, but the Lord made the heavens.
For all the gods of the nations are false gods. But the Lord made the heavens.
6 H onor and majesty are before Him; strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.
Honor and great power are with Him. Strength and beauty are in His holy place.
7 A scribe to the Lord, O you families of the peoples, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
Give to the Lord, O families of the nations, give to the Lord the honor and strength that He should have.
8 G ive to the Lord the glory due His name; bring an offering and come into His courts.
Give to the Lord the honor of His name. Bring a gift and come into His holy place.
9 O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness; tremble before and reverently fear Him, all the earth.
Worship the Lord in holy clothing. May all the earth shake in fear before Him.
10 S ay among the nations that the Lord reigns; the world also is established, so that it cannot be moved; He shall judge and rule the people righteously and with justice.
Say among the nations that the Lord rules. The world is built to last. It will not be moved. He will be right when He says who is guilty or not.
11 L et the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and all the things which fill it;
Let the heavens be glad. And let the earth be full of joy. Let the sea and all that is in it make a loud noise.
12 L et the field be exultant, and all that is in it! Then shall all the trees of the wood sing for joy
Let the fields and all that is in them be full of joy. Then all the trees of the land will sing for joy
13 B efore the Lord, for He comes, for He comes to judge and govern the earth! He shall judge the world with righteousness and justice and the peoples with His faithfulness and truth.
before the Lord. For He is coming. He is coming to say who is guilty or not on the earth. He will be right in what He decides about the world. And He will be faithful to the people.
