All the earth will worship You and sing praises to You. They will sing praises to Your name.”

5 C ome and see the works of God; see how terrible in His doings toward the children of men.

Come and see what God has done. There is much fear because of His great works toward the children of men.

6 H e turned the sea into dry land, they crossed through the river on foot; there did we rejoice in Him.

He changed the sea into dry land. They passed through the river on foot. There we were full of joy in Him.

7 H e rules by His might forever, His eyes observe and keep watch over the nations; let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah!

He rules forever by His power. His eyes keep watch over the nations. Do not let those who do not obey You honor themselves.

8 B less our God, O peoples, give Him grateful thanks and make the voice of His praise be heard,

Give honor and thanks to God, O people, and let all hear how great He is!

9 W ho put and kept us among the living, and has not allowed our feet to slip.

He keeps us alive, and does not let our feet go out from under us.

10 F or You, O God, have proved us; You have tried us as silver is tried, refined, and purified.

For You have tested us, O God. You have made us pure like silver is made pure.

11 Y ou brought us into the net (the prison fortress, the dungeon); You laid a heavy burden upon our loins.

You brought us into the net. And You laid a heavy load on our back.

12 Y ou caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water, but You brought us out into a broad, moist place.

You made men travel over our heads. We went through fire and through water. But You brought us out into a place where we have much more than we need.

13 I will come into Your house with burnt offerings; I will pay You my vows,

I will come into Your house with burnt gifts. I will give You what I promised,

14 W hich my lips uttered and my mouth promised when I was in distress.

promises made by my lips and spoken by my mouth when I was in trouble.

15 I will offer to You burnt offerings of fat lambs, with rams consumed in sweet-smelling smoke; I will offer bullocks and he-goats. Selah!

I will give You burnt gifts of fat animals with the smoke of rams. I will give You bulls with male goats.

16 C ome and hear, all you who reverently and worshipfully fear God, and I will declare what He has done for me!

Come and hear, all who fear God, and I will tell you what He has done for me.

17 I cried aloud to Him; He was extolled and high praise was under my tongue.

I cried to Him with my mouth and praised Him with my tongue.

18 I f I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me;

The Lord will not hear me if I hold on to sin in my heart.

19 B ut certainly God has heard me; He has given heed to the voice of my prayer.

But it is sure that God has heard. He has listened to the voice of my prayer.

20 B lessed be God, Who has not rejected my prayer nor removed His mercy and loving-kindness from being with me.

Honor and thanks be to God! He has not turned away from my prayer or held His loving-kindness from me.
