1 N ow at this time while the disciples were increasing in number, a complaint arose on the part of the Hellenistic Jews against the native Hebrews, because their widows were being overlooked in the daily serving of food.

那 時 ， 門 徒 增 多 ， 有 說 希 利 尼 話 的 猶 太 人 向 希 伯 來 人 發 怨 言 ， 因 為 在 天 天 的 供 給 上 忽 略 了 他 們 的 寡 婦 。

2 S o the twelve summoned the congregation of the disciples and said, “It is not desirable for us to neglect the word of God in order to serve tables.

十 二 使 徒 叫 眾 門 徒 來 ， 對 他 們 說 ： 我 們 撇 下 神 的 道 去 管 理 飯 食 ， 原 是 不 合 宜 的 。

3 T herefore, brethren, select from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may put in charge of this task.

所 以 弟 兄 們 ， 當 從 你 們 中 間 選 出 七 個 有 好 名 聲 、 被 聖 靈 充 滿 、 智 慧 充 足 的 人 ， 我 們 就 派 他 們 管 理 這 事 。

4 B ut we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”

但 我 們 要 專 心 以 祈 禱 、 傳 道 為 事 。

5 T he statement found approval with the whole congregation; and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, and Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas and Nicolas, a proselyte from Antioch.

大 眾 都 喜 悅 這 話 ， 就 揀 選 了 司 提 反 ， 乃 是 大 有 信 心 、 聖 靈 充 滿 的 人 ， 又 揀 選 腓 利 、 伯 羅 哥 羅 、 尼 迦 挪 、 提 門 、 巴 米 拿 ， 並 進 猶 太 教 的 安 提 阿 人 尼 哥 拉 ，

6 A nd these they brought before the apostles; and after praying, they laid their hands on them.

叫 他 們 站 在 使 徒 面 前 。 使 徒 禱 告 了 ， 就 按 手 在 他 們 頭 上 。

7 T he word of God kept on spreading; and the number of the disciples continued to increase greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were becoming obedient to the faith.

神 的 道 興 旺 起 來 ； 在 耶 路 撒 冷 門 徒 數 目 加 增 的 甚 多 ， 也 有 許 多 祭 司 信 從 了 這 道 。

8 A nd Stephen, full of grace and power, was performing great wonders and signs among the people.

司 提 反 滿 得 恩 惠 、 能 力 ， 在 民 間 行 了 大 奇 事 和 神 蹟 。

9 B ut some men from what was called the Synagogue of the Freedmen, including both Cyrenians and Alexandrians, and some from Cilicia and Asia, rose up and argued with Stephen.

當 時 有 稱 利 百 地 拿 會 堂 的 幾 個 人 ， 並 有 古 利 奈 、 亞 力 山 太 、 基 利 家 、 亞 西 亞 、 各 處 會 堂 的 幾 個 人 ， 都 起 來 和 司 提 反 辯 論 。

10 B ut they were unable to cope with the wisdom and the Spirit with which he was speaking.

司 提 反 是 以 智 慧 和 聖 靈 說 話 ， 眾 人 敵 擋 不 住 ，

11 T hen they secretly induced men to say, “We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and against God.”

就 買 出 人 來 說 ： 我 們 聽 見 他 說 謗 讟 摩 西 和 神 的 話 。

12 A nd they stirred up the people, the elders and the scribes, and they came up to him and dragged him away and brought him before the Council.

他 們 又 聳 動 了 百 姓 、 長 老 ， 並 文 士 ， 就 忽 然 來 捉 拿 他 ， 把 他 帶 到 公 會 去 ，

13 T hey put forward false witnesses who said, “This man incessantly speaks against this holy place and the Law;

設 下 假 見 證 ， 說 ： 這 個 人 說 話 ， 不 住 的 蹧 踐 聖 所 和 律 法 。

14 f or we have heard him say that this Nazarene, Jesus, will destroy this place and alter the customs which Moses handed down to us.”

我 們 曾 聽 見 他 說 ： 這 拿 撒 勒 人 耶 穌 要 毀 壞 此 地 ， 也 要 改 變 摩 西 所 交 給 我 們 的 規 條 。

15 A nd fixing their gaze on him, all who were sitting in the Council saw his face like the face of an angel.

在 公 會 裡 坐 著 的 人 都 定 睛 看 他 ， 見 他 的 面 貌 ， 好 像 天 使 的 面 貌 。
