1 I n the third month after the sons of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt, on that very day they came into the wilderness of Sinai.

以 色 列 人 出 埃 及 地 以 後 ， 滿 了 三 個 月 的 那 一 天 ， 就 來 到 西 乃 的 曠 野 。

2 W hen they set out from Rephidim, they came to the wilderness of Sinai and camped in the wilderness; and there Israel camped in front of the mountain.

他 們 離 了 利 非 訂 ， 來 到 西 乃 的 曠 野 ， 就 在 那 裡 的 山 下 安 營 。

3 M oses went up to God, and the Lord called to him from the mountain, saying, “Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob and tell the sons of Israel:

摩 西 到 神 那 裡 ， 耶 和 華 從 山 上 呼 喚 他 說 ： 你 要 這 樣 告 訴 雅 各 家 ， 曉 諭 以 色 列 人 說 ：

4 ‘ You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings, and brought you to Myself.

我 向 埃 及 人 所 行 的 事 ， 你 們 都 看 見 了 ， 且 看 見 我 如 鷹 將 你 們 背 在 翅 膀 上 ， 帶 來 歸 我 。

5 N ow then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine;

如 今 你 們 若 實 在 聽 從 我 的 話 ， 遵 守 我 的 約 ， 就 要 在 萬 民 中 作 屬 我 的 子 民 ， 因 為 全 地 都 是 我 的 。

6 a nd you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words that you shall speak to the sons of Israel.”

你 們 要 歸 我 作 祭 司 的 國 度 ， 為 聖 潔 的 國 民 。 這 些 話 你 要 告 訴 以 色 列 人 。

7 S o Moses came and called the elders of the people, and set before them all these words which the Lord had commanded him.

摩 西 去 召 了 民 間 的 長 老 來 ， 將 耶 和 華 所 吩 咐 他 的 話 都 在 他 們 面 前 陳 明 。

8 A ll the people answered together and said, “All that the Lord has spoken we will do!” And Moses brought back the words of the people to the Lord.

百 姓 都 同 聲 回 答 說 ： 凡 耶 和 華 所 說 的 ， 我 們 都 要 遵 行 。 摩 西 就 將 百 姓 的 話 回 覆 耶 和 華 。

9 T he Lord said to Moses, “Behold, I will come to you in a thick cloud, so that the people may hear when I speak with you and may also believe in you forever.” Then Moses told the words of the people to the Lord.

耶 和 華 對 摩 西 說 ： 我 要 在 密 雲 中 臨 到 你 那 裡 ， 叫 百 姓 在 我 與 你 說 話 的 時 候 可 以 聽 見 ， 也 可 以 永 遠 信 你 了 。 於 是 ， 摩 西 將 百 姓 的 話 奏 告 耶 和 華 。

10 T he Lord also said to Moses, “Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their garments;

耶 和 華 又 對 摩 西 說 ： 你 往 百 姓 那 裡 去 ， 叫 他 們 今 天 明 天 自 潔 ， 又 叫 他 們 洗 衣 服 。

11 a nd let them be ready for the third day, for on the third day the Lord will come down on Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people.

到 第 三 天 要 預 備 好 了 ， 因 為 第 三 天 耶 和 華 要 在 眾 百 姓 眼 前 降 臨 在 西 乃 山 上 。

12 Y ou shall set bounds for the people all around, saying, ‘ Beware that you do not go up on the mountain or touch the border of it; whoever touches the mountain shall surely be put to death.

你 要 在 山 的 四 圍 給 百 姓 定 界 限 ， 說 ： 你 們 當 謹 慎 ， 不 可 上 山 去 ， 也 不 可 摸 山 的 邊 界 ； 凡 摸 這 山 的 ， 必 要 治 死 他 。

13 N o hand shall touch him, but he shall surely be stoned or shot through; whether beast or man, he shall not live.’ When the ram’s horn sounds a long blast, they shall come up to the mountain.”

不 可 用 手 摸 他 ， 必 用 石 頭 打 死 ， 或 用 箭 射 透 ； 無 論 是 人 是 牲 畜 ， 都 不 得 活 。 到 角 聲 拖 長 的 時 候 ， 他 們 才 可 到 山 根 來 。

14 S o Moses went down from the mountain to the people and consecrated the people, and they washed their garments.

摩 西 下 山 往 百 姓 那 裡 去 ， 叫 他 們 自 潔 ， 他 們 就 洗 衣 服 。

15 H e said to the people, “Be ready for the third day; do not go near a woman.”

他 對 百 姓 說 ： 到 第 三 天 要 預 備 好 了 。 不 可 親 近 女 人 。

16 S o it came about on the third day, when it was morning, that there were thunder and lightning flashes and a thick cloud upon the mountain and a very loud trumpet sound, so that all the people who were in the camp trembled.

到 了 第 三 天 早 晨 ， 在 山 上 有 雷 轟 、 閃 電 ， 和 密 雲 ， 並 且 角 聲 甚 大 ， 營 中 的 百 姓 盡 都 發 顫 。

17 A nd Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain. The Lord Visits Sinai

摩 西 率 領 百 姓 出 營 迎 接 神 ， 都 站 在 山 下 。

18 N ow Mount Sinai was all in smoke because the Lord descended upon it in fire; and its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked violently.

西 乃 全 山 冒 煙 ， 因 為 耶 和 華 在 火 中 降 於 山 上 。 山 的 煙 氣 上 騰 ， 如 燒 窯 一 般 ， 遍 山 大 大 的 震 動 。

19 W hen the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke and God answered him with thunder.

角 聲 漸 漸 的 高 而 又 高 ， 摩 西 就 說 話 ， 神 有 聲 音 答 應 他 。

20 T he Lord came down on Mount Sinai, to the top of the mountain; and the Lord called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.

耶 和 華 降 臨 在 西 乃 山 頂 上 ， 耶 和 華 召 摩 西 上 山 頂 ， 摩 西 就 上 去 。

21 T hen the Lord spoke to Moses, “Go down, warn the people, so that they do not break through to the Lord to gaze, and many of them perish.

耶 和 華 對 摩 西 說 ： 你 下 去 囑 咐 百 姓 ， 不 可 闖 過 來 到 我 面 前 觀 看 ， 恐 怕 他 們 有 多 人 死 亡 ；

22 A lso let the priests who come near to the Lord consecrate themselves, or else the Lord will break out against them.”

又 叫 親 近 我 的 祭 司 自 潔 ， 恐 怕 我 忽 然 出 來 擊 殺 他 們 。

23 M oses said to the Lord, “The people cannot come up to Mount Sinai, for You warned us, saying, ‘ Set bounds about the mountain and consecrate it.’”

摩 西 對 耶 和 華 說 ： 百 姓 不 能 上 西 乃 山 ， 因 為 你 已 經 囑 咐 我 們 說 ： 要 在 山 的 四 圍 定 界 限 ， 叫 山 成 聖 。

24 T hen the Lord said to him, “ Go down and come up again, you and Aaron with you; but do not let the priests and the people break through to come up to the Lord, or He will break forth upon them.”

耶 和 華 對 他 說 ： 下 去 罷 ， 你 要 和 亞 倫 一 同 上 來 ； 只 是 祭 司 和 百 姓 不 可 闖 過 來 上 到 我 面 前 ， 恐 怕 我 忽 然 出 來 擊 殺 他 們 。

25 S o Moses went down to the people and told them.

於 是 摩 西 下 到 百 姓 那 裡 告 訴 他 們 。
