1 N ow the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

يَقُولُ الرُّوحُ القُدُسُ بِوُضُوحٍ إنَّهُ فِي أواخِرِ الأزمِنَةِ سَيَتَخَلَّى قَومٌ عَنِ الإيمانِ، وَسَيَتبَعُونَ أرواحاً مُضَلِّلَةً، وَتَعالِيمَ مَصدَرُها أرواحٌ شِرِّيْرَةٌ،

2 S peaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

يَنشُرُها أشخاصٌ كَذَبَةٌ مُنافِقُونَ، وَكَأنَّ ضَمائِرَهُمْ قَدِ احتَرَقَتْ!

3 F orbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

سَيُحَرِّمُونَ الزَّواجَ عَلَى أتباعِهِمْ، وَيَأمُرُونَهُمْ بِالِامتِناعِ عَنْ أطعِمَةٍ خَلَقَها اللهُ لِكَي يَتَناوَلَها المُؤمِنُونَ وَعارِفُو الحَقِّ شاكِرِيْنَ.

4 F or every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:

فَكُلُّ ما خَلَقَهُ اللهُ صالِحٌ، وَلا يَنبَغي أنْ يُرفَضَ مِنهُ شَيءٌ، بَلْ أنْ يُقبَلَ مَعَ الشُّكرِ.

5 F or it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

لِأنَّهُ يُقَدَّسُ بِكَلِمَةِ اللهِ وَبِالصَّلاةِ. كُنْ خادِماً صالِحاً لِلمَسِيحِ يَسُوع

6 I f thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.

فَإنْ بَيَّنتَ هَذِهِ الأُمُورَ لِلإخوَةِ، تَكُونُ خادِماً صالِحاً لِلمَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ. وَسَتُثبِتُ أيضاً أنَّكَ حَقّاً اتَّبَعتَ حَقائِقَ الإيمانِ وَالتَّعالِيمِ الصّالِحَةِ الَّتِي نَشَأْتَ عَلَيها.

7 B ut refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.

لَكِنِ ارفُضِ الخُرافاتِ الدُّنيَوِيَّةَ الَّتِي تُشبِهُ قِصَصَ العَجائِزِ، وَتَدَرَّبْ دائِماً عَلَى عِبادَةِ اللهِ.

8 F or bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

فَلِلتَّدرِيبِ الجَسَدِيِّ قِيمَةٌ مَحدُودَةٌ، أمّا عِبادَةُ اللهِ فَلَها قِيمَةٌ مِنْ كُلِّ وَجهٍ، لِأنَّها تَعِدُ بِبَرَكاتٍ فِي الحَياةِ الحاضِرَةِ وَالمُستَقبَلَةِ أيضاً.

9 T his is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.

وَهَذا قَولٌ جَدِيرٌ بِالثِّقَةِ وَمُستَحِقٌّ قَبُولاً كامِلاً:

10 F or therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

إنَّنا نَتعَبُ وَنُناضِلُ لِأنَّنا وَضَعنا رَجاءَنا فِي اللهِ الحَيِّ، مُخَلِّصِ جَمِيعِ النّاسِ، وَخاصَّةً المُؤمِنِينَ.

11 T hese things command and teach.

أوصِ بِهَذا وَعَلِّمْ بِهِ.

12 L et no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

لا يَستَهِنْ بِكَ أحَدٌ بِسَبَبِ كَونِكَ شابّاً، بَلْ كُنْ قُدوَةً لِلمُؤمِنِينَ بِكَلامِكَ وَسُلُوكِكَ وَمَحَبَّتِكَ وَإيمانِكَ وَنَقاءِ حَياتِكَ.

13 T ill I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

وَإلَى أنْ آتِيَ، وَاصِلْ قِراءَةَ كَلِمَةِ اللهِ، مِنْ أجلِ تَشجِيعِ المُؤمِنِينَ وَتَعلِيمِهِمْ.

14 N eglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

وَلا تُهمِلْ مَوهِبَتَكَ الرُّوحِيَّةَ الَّتِي وُهِبَتْ لَكَ بِرِسالَةٍ نَبَوِيَّةٍ عِندَما وَضَعَ شُيُوخُ الكَنِيسَةِ أيدِيَهُمْ عَلَيكَ.

15 M editate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

أعطِ اهتِماماً كامِلاً لِهَذِهِ الأُمُورِ، وَانهَمِكْ فِيها تَماماً، لِكَي يَكُونَ تَقَدُّمُكَ بادِياً لِجَمِيعِ النّاسِ.

16 T ake heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

انتَبِه لِحَياتِكَ وَتَعلِيمِكَ. وَداوِمْ عَلَى ذَلِكَ، لِأنَّكَ بِهَذا تُخَلِّصُ نَفسَكَ وَالَّذِينَ يَسمَعُونَكَ.
