1 M oreover David and the captains of the host separated to the service of the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals: and the number of the workmen according to their service was:

وَخَصَّصَ داوُدُ وَرُؤَساءُ الجَيشِ لِلخِدْمَةِ أبْناءَ آسافَ وَهَيْمانَ وَيَدُوثُونَ، الَّذِينَ يَتَنَبَّأُونَ بِالقَياثِيرِ وَالرَّبابِ وَالصُّنُوجِ. وَهَذِهِ قائِمَةٌ بِأسْماءِ الَّذِينَ كانُوا يُؤَدُّونَ هَذِهِ الخِدمَةَ:

2 O f the sons of Asaph; Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asarelah, the sons of Asaph under the hands of Asaph, which prophesied according to the order of the king.

مِنْ أبْناءِ آسافَ زَكُّورُ وَيُوسُفُ ونَثَنْيا وَأشَرئِيلَةُ، وَكانَ أبْناءُ آسافَ هَؤُلاءِ يَتَنَبَّأُونَ تَحْتَ إشْرافِ المَلِكِ.

3 O f Jeduthun: the sons of Jeduthun; Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hands of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied with a harp, to give thanks and to praise the Lord.

مِنْ يَدُوثُونَ: أبْناءُ يَدُوثُونَ جَدَلْيا وَصَرِي وَيَشْعَيا وَشَمْعَى وَحَشَبْيا وَمَتَّثْيا، وَعَدَدُهُمْ سِتَّةٌ تَحتَ قِيادَةِ أبِيهِمْ يَدُوثُونَ الَّذِي يَتَنَبَّأُ بِالقَيثارَةِ. وَهُمْ مَسْؤُولُونَ عَنْ تَقْدِيمِ الشُّكْرِ وَالتَّسْبِيحِ للهِ.

4 O f Heman: the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamtiezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth:

مِنْ هَيْمانَ بُقِّيّا وَمَتَّثْيا وَعُزِّيئِيلُ وَشَبُوئِيلُ وَيَرِيمُوثُ وَحَنَنْيا وَحَنانِي وَإيلِيآثَةُ وَجِدَّلْتِي وَرُومَمْتِي عَزَرُ وَيَشْبَقاشَةُ وَمَلُوثِي وَهُوثِيرُ وَمَحْزِيُوتُ.

5 A ll these were the sons of Heman the king's seer in the words of God, to lift up the horn. And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

كانَ هَؤُلاءِ كُلُّهُمْ أبْناءَ هَيْمانَ، رائِي المَلِكِ، وَفْقَ وَعْدِ اللهِ بِأنْ يَجعَلَهُ قَوِيّاً. وَرَزَقَ اللهُ هَيْمانَ أربَعَةَ عَشَرَ ابْناً وَثَلاثَ بَناتٍ.

6 A ll these were under the hands of their father for song in the house of the Lord, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God, according to the king's order to Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman.

كانُوا جَميعاً يَعمَلُونَ تَحتَ إشْرافِ أبِيهِمْ فِي التَّرْنِيمِ لِبَيتِ اللهِ بِالصُّنُوجِ وَالرَّبابِ وَالقَياثِيرِ مِنْ أجلِ خِدْمَةِ بَيتِ اللهِ. وَكانَ آسافُ وَهَيمانُ وَيَدُوثُونَ، تَحْتَ إشْرافِ المَلِكِ المُباشِرِ.

7 S o the number of them, with their brethren that were instructed in the songs of the Lord, even all that were cunning, was two hundred fourscore and eight.

وَقَدْ بَلَغَ عَدَدُهُمْ مَعَ أقْرِبائِهِمِ المُدَرَّبِينَ عَلَى التَّرْنِيمِ للهِ ، مِئَتَينِ وَثَمانِيَةٍ وَثَمانِينَ، وَكانُوا جَمِيعُهُمْ ماهِرينَ.

8 A nd they cast lots, ward against ward, as well the small as the great, the teacher as the scholar.

وَألقَوْا قُرْعَةً لِتَحدِيدِ مَهامِّهِمْ، كِباراً وَصِغاراً، مُعَلِّمينَ وَتَلامِيذَ.

9 N ow the first lot came forth for Asaph to Joseph: the second to Gedaliah, who with his brethren and sons were twelve:

فَوَقَعَتِ القُرْعَةُ الأُولَى لآَسافَ عَلَى يُوسُفَ. وَالثّانِيَةُ عَلَى جَدَلْيا قَرِيبِهِ، وَأبْنائِهِ الاثْنَيْ عَشَرَ.

10 T he third to Zaccur, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

وَالثّالِثَةُ عَلَى زَكُّورَ وَأبْنائِهِ وَأقْرِبائِهِ، وَعَدَدُهُمُ اثْنا عَشَرَ.

11 T he fourth to Izri, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

وَالرّابِعَةُ عَلَى يَصْرِي وَأبْنائِهِ وَأقارِبِهِ، وَعَدَدُهُمُ اثْنا عَشَرَ.

12 T he fifth to Nethaniah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

وَالخامِسَةُ عَلَى نَثَنْيا وَأبْنائِهِ وَأقارِبِهِ، وَعَدَدُهُمُ اثْنا عَشَرَ.

13 T he sixth to Bukkiah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

وَالسّادِسَةُ عَلَى بُقِّيّا، وَأبْنائِهِ وَأقارِبِهِ، وَعَدَدُهُمُ اثْنا عَشَرَ.

14 T he seventh to Jesharelah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

وَالسّابِعَةُ عَلَى يَشَرْئِيلَةَ، وَأبْنائِهِ وَأقارِبِهِ، وَعَدَدُهُمُ اثْنا عَشَرَ.

15 T he eighth to Jeshaiah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

وَالثّامِنَةُ عَلَى يَشْعِيا، وَأبْنائِهِ وَأقارِبِهِ، وَعَدَدُهُمُ اثْنا عَشَرَ.

16 T he ninth to Mattaniah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

وَالتّاسِعَةُ عَلَى مَتَّنْيا وَأبنائِهِ وَأقارِبِهِ، وَعَدَدُهُمُ اثْنا عَشَرَ.

17 T he tenth to Shimei, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

وَالعاشِرَةُ عَلَى شَمْعَى، وَأبْنائِهِ وَأقارِبِهِ، وَعَدَدُهُمُ اثْنا عَشَرَ.

18 T he eleventh to Azareel, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

وَالحادِيَةَ عَشْرَ عَلَى عَزَرْئِيلَ، وَأبْنائِهِ وَأقارِبِهِ، وَعَدَدُهُمُ اثْنا عَشَرَ.

19 T he twelfth to Hashabiah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

وَالثّانِيَةَ عَشْرَةَ عَلَى حَشَبْيا وَأبْنائِهِ وَأقارِبِهِ، وَعَدَدُهُمُ اثْنا عَشَرَ.

20 T he thirteenth to Shubael, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

وَالثّالِثَةَ عَشْرَةَ عَلَى شُوبائِيلَ، وَأبْنائِهِ وَأقارِبِهِ، وَعَدَدُهُمُ اثْنا عَشَرَ.

21 T he fourteenth to Mattithiah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

وَالرّابِعَةَ عَشْرَةَ عَلَى مَتَّثْيا وَأبْنائِهِ وَأقارِبِهِ، وَعَدَدُهُمُ اثْنا عَشَرَ.

22 T he fifteenth to Jeremoth, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

وَالخامِسَةَ عَشْرَةَ عَلَى يَرِيمُوثَ وَأبْنائِهِ وَأقارِبِهِ، وَعَدَدُهُمُ اثْنا عَشْرَ.

23 T he sixteenth to Hananiah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

وَالسّادِسَةَ عَشْرَةَ عَلَى حَنَنْيا وَأبْنائِهِ وَأقارِبِهِ، وَعَدَدُهُمُ اثْنا عَشْرَ.

24 T he seventeenth to Joshbekashah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

وَالسّابِعَةَ عَشْرَةَ عَلَى يَشْبَقاشَةَ وَأبْنائِهِ وَأقارِبِهِ، وَعَدَدُهُمُ اثْنا عَشْرَ.

25 T he eighteenth to Hanani, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

وَالثّامِنَةَ عَشْرَةَ عَلَى حَنانِي وَأبْنائِهِ وَأقارِبِهِ، وَعَدَدُهُمُ اثْنا عَشَرَ.

26 T he nineteenth to Mallothi, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

وَالتّاسِعَةَ عَشْرَةَ عَلَى مَلُّوثِي وَأبْنائِهِ وَأقارِبِهِ، وَعَدَدُهُمُ اثْنا عَشَرَ.

27 T he twentieth to Eliathah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

وَالعِشْرُونَ عَلَى إيلِيآثَةَ وَأبْنائِهِ وَأقارِبِهِ، وَعَدَدُهُمُ اثْنا عَشَرَ.

28 T he one and twentieth to Hothir, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

وَالحادِيَةُ وَالعِشْرُونَ عَلَى هُوثِيرَ وَأبْنائِهِ وَأقارِبِهِ، وَعَدَدُهُمُ اثْنا عَشَرَ.

29 T he two and twentieth to Giddalti, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

وَالثّانِيَةُ وَالعِشْرُونَ عَلَى جِدَّلْتِي وَأبْنائِهِ وَأقارِبِهِ وَعَدَدُهُمُ اثْنا عَشَرَ.

30 T he three and twentieth to Mahazioth, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

وَالثّالِثَةُ وَالعِشْرُونَ عَلَى مَحْزِيُوثَ، وَأبْنائِهِ وَأقارِبِهِ، وَعَدَدُهُمُ اثْنا عَشَرَ.

31 T he four and twentieth to Romamtiezer, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve.

وَالرّابِعَةُ وَالعِشْرُونَ عَلَى رُومَمْتِي عَزَرَ وَأبْنائِهِ وَأقارِبِهِ، وَعَدَدُهُمُ اثْنا عَشَرَ.
