1 W oe to thee that spoilest, and thou wast not spoiled; and dealest treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with thee! when thou shalt cease to spoil, thou shalt be spoiled; and when thou shalt make an end to deal treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with thee.

تَنَبَّهْ أيُّها المُخَرِّبُ الَّذِي لَمْ يُهاجِمْهُ أحَدٌ، وَأيُّها الغادِرُ الَّذِي لَمْ يَغدُرْ فِيهِ أحَدٌ. عِندَما تَنتَهِي مِنَ التَّخرِيبِ سَتُخَرَّبُ، وَعِندَما تَنتَهِي مِنَ الغَدرِ سَتُغدَرُ.

2 O Lord, be gracious unto us; we have waited for thee: be thou their arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.

وَسَيُقالُ: «تَحَنَّنْ عَلَينا يا اللهُ. إيّاكَ انتَظَرنا. أعطِنا قُوَّةً فِي كُلِّ صَباحٍ، وَخَلِّصْنا فِي وَقتِ الضِّيقِ.»

3 A t the noise of the tumult the people fled; at the lifting up of thyself the nations were scattered.

هَرَبَ الشَّعبُ مِنْ صَوتِكَ الهادِرِ. تَشَتَّتَتِ الأُمَمُ بِسَبَبِ عَظَمَتِكَ.

4 A nd your spoil shall be gathered like the gathering of the caterpiller: as the running to and fro of locusts shall he run upon them.

سَتُجمَعُ غَنائِمَكُمْ كَما يَجمَعُ الجَرادُ الطَّعامَ. سَيَقفِزُ كَثِيرُونَ عَلَيها كَالجَنادِبِ.

5 T he Lord is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with judgment and righteousness.

اللهُ مُرتَفِعٌ جِدّاً، وَيَسكُنُ فِي الأعالِي. هُوَ يَملأُ صِهْيَوْنَ بِالعَدلِ وَالصَّلاحِ.

6 A nd wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the Lord is his treasure.

هُوَ مَصْدَرُ ثَباتِكِ يا صِهْيَوْنَ. سَتَنعَمِينَ بِالخَلاصِ وَالحِكْمَةِ وَالمَعرِفَةِ، وَتَكُونُ مَخافَةُ اللهِ كَنْزَكِ.

7 B ehold, their valiant ones shall cry without: the ambassadors of peace shall weep bitterly.

ها الأبْطالُ يَصرُخُونَ فِي الشَّوارِعِ، وَرُسُلَ السَّلامِ يَبكُونَ بِمَرارَةٍ.

8 T he highways lie waste, the wayfaring man ceaseth: he hath broken the covenant, he hath despised the cities, he regardeth no man.

الطُّرُقُ الكَبِيرَةُ مَهجُورَةٌ، وَلا أحَدَ يُسافِرُ عَلَى الطُّرُقِ الصَّغِيرَةِ. العَهُودُ مَكسُورَةٌ وَالشُّهُودُ مَرفُوضُونَ، وَلا يَحتَرِمُونَ أحَداً.

9 T he earth mourneth and languisheth: Lebanon is ashamed and hewn down: Sharon is like a wilderness; and Bashan and Carmel shake off their fruits.

الأرْضُ تَنُوحُ وَتَذبُلُ. لُبنانُ خَجِلَ وَذَبُلَ. سَهلُ شارُونَ يُشبِهُ الصَّحراءَ. وَباشانُ وَالكَرمَلُ يَنفُضانِ أوراقَهُما الذّابِلَةَ وَيَمُوتانِ.

10 N ow will I rise, saith the Lord; now will I be exalted; now will I lift up myself.

يَقُولُ اللهُ: «الآنَ أقُومُ، الآنَ أنتَصِبُ، الآنَ أُظهِرُ عَظَمَتِي.

11 Y e shall conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath, as fire, shall devour you.

تَحبَلُونَ بِالعُشبِ، وَتَلِدُونَ قَشّاً، وَرُوحُكُمْ نارٌ تَلتَهِمُكُمْ.

12 A nd the people shall be as the burnings of lime: as thorns cut up shall they be burned in the fire.

سَيَحتَرِقُ النّاسُ لِيُصبِحُوا رَماداً. سَيَحتَرِقُونَ بِالنّارِ كَالشَّوكِ اليابِسِ.

13 H ear, ye that are far off, what I have done; and, ye that are near, acknowledge my might.

«اسْمَعُوا ما عَمِلْتُ أيُّها البَعِيدُونَ، وَاعرِفُوا قُوَّتِي أيُّها القَرِيبُونَ.»

14 T he sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?

الخُطاةُ فِي صِهْيَوْنَ خائِفُونَ، وَالأشرارُ يُمسِكُهُمُ الرُّعبُ وَيَقُولُونَ: «مَنْ مِنّا يَقْدِرُ أنْ يَعِيشَ مَعَ هَذِهِ النّارِ المُلتَهِمَةِ؟ مَنْ مِنّا يَقْدِرُ أنْ يَعِيشَ مَعَ هَذِهِ النّارِ الأبَدِيَّةِ؟»

15 H e that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;

الَّذِينَ يَعِيشُونَ بِالاستِقامَةِ، وَيَتَكَلَّمُونَ بِالصِّدقِ، الَّذِينَ يَرفُضُونَ الرِّبحَ بِظُلمِ الآخَرِينَ، الَّذِينَ يَمتَنِعُونَ عَنْ أخذِ الرِّشوَةِ، الَّذِينَ يَسُدُّونَ آذانَهُمْ عَنْ سَماعِ خُطَطِ القَتلِ، وَيُغلِقُونَ عُيُونَهُمْ عَنِ النَّظَرِ إلَى الشَّرِّ،

16 H e shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.

هَؤُلاءِ سَيَعِيشُونَ بِأمانٍ فِي الأعالِي، وَسَيَكُونُ مَكانُهُمُ الأمِينُ حُصُوناً فِي الجِبالِ، حَيثُ سَيُزَوَّدُونَ بِطَعامِهِمْ، وَماؤُهُمْ لَنْ يَنفَدَ.

17 T hine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off.

سَتَرَى عُيُونُكَ المَلِكَ فِي جَمالِهِ. وَسَيَنظُرُونَ إلَى أرْضٍ كَبِيرَةٍ جِدّاً.

18 T hine heart shall meditate terror. Where is the scribe? where is the receiver? where is he that counted the towers?

وَسَتُفَكِّرُ بِالرُّعبِ الَّذِي كانَ لَدَيكَ سابِقاً: «أينَ الكاتِبُ؟ أينَ الوازِنُ؟ أينَ الَّذِي يُحْصِي الحُصُونَ؟»

19 T hou shalt not see a fierce people, a people of a deeper speech than thou canst perceive; of a stammering tongue, that thou canst not understand.

لَنْ تَرَى فِيما بَعدُ الشَّعبَ المُتَعَجرِفَ الَّذِي يَتَكَلَّمُ بِغَيرِ وُضُوحٍ، وَبِلُغَةٍ لا تَفهَمُها. حِمايَةُ اللهِ لإسْرائِيل

20 L ook upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tabernacle that shall not be taken down; not one of the stakes thereof shall ever be removed, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken.

انظُرُوا إلَى صِهْيَوْنَ، مَدِينَةِ أعيادِنا. سَتَرَى عُيُونُكُمُ القُدْسَ مَسكَناً آمِناً وَخَيمَةً ثابِتَةً لا تُخلَعُ أوتادُها، وَلا يَنقَطِعُ حَبلٌ مِنْ حِبالِها.

21 B ut there the glorious Lord will be unto us a place of broad rivers and streams; wherein shall go no galley with oars, neither shall gallant ship pass thereby.

لأنَّ اللهَ سَيَتَعَظَّمُ هُناكَ، مِثلَ أرْضٍ مَلِيئَةٍ بِالأنهارِ وَالجَداوِلِ العَرِيضَةِ الَّتِي لا تَسِيرُ عَلَيها قَوُارِبُ التَّجدِيفِ، وَلا تَعبُرُها سُفُنُ العَدُوِّ الضَّخمَةُ.

22 F or the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; he will save us.

لأنَّ اللهَ هُوَ قاضِينا، وَهُوَ يُعطِينا الشَّرِيعَةَ. هُوَ مَلِكُنا، وَهُوَ يُخَلِّصُنا.

23 T hy tacklings are loosed; they could not well strengthen their mast, they could not spread the sail: then is the prey of a great spoil divided; the lame take the prey.

انحَلَّتْ حِبالُ الأشرارِ، وَلَمْ تَعُدْ تُمسِكُ بِقاعِدَةِ السّارِيَةِ لِتُثَبِّتَها. لَمْ يَعُودُوا يَنْصِبُونَ الأشرِعَةَ. حِينَئِذٍ، سَتُقَسَّمُ غَنِيمَةٌ كَبِيرَةٌ، وَحَتَّى العُرجُ سَيَنالُونَ نَصِيباً مِنَ الغَنِيمَةِ.

24 A nd the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity.

لَنْ يَكُونَ بَينَ ساكِنِيها مَنْ يَقُولُ: «أنا مَرِيضٌ.» وَالشَّعْبُ السّاكِنُ هُناكَ، سَيَكُونُ مَغفُورَ الخَطايا.
