1 T hen came all the tribes of Israel to David unto Hebron, and spake, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.

وَجاءَتْ عَشائِرُ إسْرائِيلَ كُلُّها إلَى حَبْرُونَ، وَقالوا لِدَاوُدَ: «نَحْنُ لَحْمُكَ وَدَمُكَ!

2 A lso in time past, when Saul was king over us, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and the Lord said to thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be a captain over Israel.

حَتَّى عِنْدَما كانَ شاول مَلِكَاً عَلَينا، أنْتَ الّذي قادَنا إلَى المَعْرَكَةِ، وَأرْجَعَ إسْرائِيل مِنَ الحَرْبِ بِانْتِصارٍ. وَاللهُ نَفْسُهُ قالَ لَكَ إنَّكَ سَتَكونُ راعِيَ شَعْبي إسْرائِيلَ، وَسَتَكونُ حاكِمَ إسْرائِيلَ.»

3 S o all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a league with them in Hebron before the Lord: and they anointed David king over Israel.

فَجاءَ قادَةُ بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ كُلُّهُم لِلِقاءِ المَلِكِ داوُدَ فِي حَبْرُونَ. وَهُناكَ قَطَعَ المَلِكُ مَعَهُم عَهْداً فِي حَضرَةِ اللهِ. ثُمَّ مَسَحَ القادَةُ داوُدَ مَلِكاً عَلَى إسْرائِيلَ.

4 D avid was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.

كانَ داوُدُ في الثَّلاثِينَ مِنَ العُمْرِ عِنْدَما تَسَلَّمَ الحُكْمَ وبَقِيَ مَلِكاً مُدَّةَ أربَعِينَ عاماً.

5 I n Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah.

حَكَمَ فِي حَبْرُونَ يَهُوَّذا سَبْعَ سَنَواتٍ وَسِتَّةَ أشْهُرٍ، وَحَكَمَ فِي مَدينَةِ القُدْسِ إسْرائِيلَ كُلَّها ويَهُوَّذا ثَلاثَةً وَثَلاثينَ سَنَةً. داوُدُ ينتصرُ فِي مَدينَةِ القُدْس

6 A nd the king and his men went to Jerusalem unto the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land: which spake unto David, saying, Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither: thinking, David cannot come in hither.

وَذَهَبَ المَلِكَ وَرِجالُهُ لِمُحارَبَةِ اليبُّوسِيِّينَ المُقِيمِينَ فِي مَدينَةِ القُدْسِ. قالَ اليَبُّوسِيُّونَ لِداوُدَ: «لا يُمْكِنُكَ أنْ تَدْخُلَ مَدينَتَنا. حَتَّى العُمْيُ وَالْعُرْجُ قادِرُونَ عَلَى مَنْعِكَ.» قالُوا هَذا لأنَّهُم ظنّوا أنَّ داوُدَ لَنْ يَتَمَكَّنَ مِنْ دُخُولِ مَدِينَتِهم.

7 N evertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David.

لَكِنَّ داوُدَ اسْتَولَى عَلَى حِصْنِ صِهْيَوْنَ، الَّذِي يُدْعَى الآنَ: «مَدِينَةَ داوُدَ.»

8 A nd David said on that day, Whosoever getteth up to the gutter, and smiteth the Jebusites, and the lame and the blind that are hated of David's soul, he shall be chief and captain. Wherefore they said, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.

في ذَلِكَ اليَوْمَ، قالَ داوُدُ لِرِجالِهِ: «إنْ كُنْتُم تُرِيدُونَ هَزْمَ اليَبوسِيِّينَ، أُعبُرُوا نَفَقَ المِياهِ، وَنالُوا مِنْ أولَئِكَ الأعْداءِ وَالعُرجِ وَالعُمْيُ.» لِذا يَقولُ النّاسُ: «لا يُمْكِنُ للْعُمْيِ وَالعُرْجِ أنْ يَدْخُلوا الهَيكَلَ.»

9 S o David dwelt in the fort, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward.

وَسَكَنَ داوُدُ فِي الحِصْنِ وَأسَماهُ مَدينَةَ داوُدَ. وَبَنَى داوُدُ المَدِينَةَ مِنَ مِلُّو إلَى الدّاخِلِ.

10 A nd David went on, and grew great, and the Lord God of hosts was with him.

وَكانَتْ قُوَّةُ داوُدَ تَزْدادُ شَيْئاً فَشَيْئاً، لأنَّ اللهَ ، الإلَهَ القَدِيرَ كانَ مَعَهُ.

11 A nd Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters, and masons: and they built David an house.

أرْسَلَ حِيرامُ مَلِكُ صُورَ رُسُلاً إلَى داوُدَ. كَذَلِكَ أرْسَلَ أشْجارَ أرْزٍ وَنَجّارينَ وَنَحّاتِينَ، فَبَنَوْا لِداوُدَ بَيْتاً.

12 A nd David perceived that the Lord had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel's sake.

حينئِذٍ أدْرَكَ داوُدُ أنَّ اللهَ قَدْ جَعَلَ مِنْهُ حقًّا مَلِكَ إسْرائِيل، وَأنَّ الله جَعَلَ مُلكَهُ عَظِيماً وَسامِياً لأجلِ شَعبِهِ إسْرائِيلَ.

13 A nd David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron: and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.

وَانتَقَلَ داوُدُ مِنْ حَبْرُونَ إلَى مَدينَةِ القُدْسِ حَيْثُ اتَّخَذَ لِنَفْسِهِ مَزِيداً مِنِ الجَوارِي وَالزَّوجاتِ. فرُزِقَ بمزيدٍ مِنَ الأولادِ وَالبَناتِ.

14 A nd these be the names of those that were born unto him in Jerusalem; Shammuah, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,

وَهَذِهِ أسْماءُ أولادِهِ الَّذِينَ وُلِدُوا فِي القُدْسِ: شمَّوعُ وَشُوبابُ وناثْانُ وسُلَيْمانُ

15 I bhar also, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Japhia,

وَيِبْحارُ وَألِيشُوعُ وَنافَجُ وَيافِيعُ

16 A nd Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphalet.

وَأَلِيشَمَعُ وَأَلِيداعُ وَأَلِيفَلَطُ. داود يُحارِبُ الفِلِسْطيّين

17 B ut when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines came up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went down to the hold.

وَعَلِمَ الفِلِسْطيُّونَ أنَّ بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ قَدْ مَسَحُوا داوُدَ لِيَكونَ مَلِكَ إسْرائِيلَ. فَصَعَدُوا بَحْثاً عَنْ داوُدَ لِيَقْتُلُوهُ. لَكِنَّهُ عَلِمَ بِالأمَرِ فَدَخَلَ الحِصْنَ فِي مَدينَةِ القُدْسِ.

18 T he Philistines also came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

وَجاءَ الفِلِسْطِيُّونَ وَأقامُوا مُعَسْكَرَهُم فِي وادِي رَفائِيم.

19 A nd David enquired of the Lord, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the Lord said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hand.

فَسَألَ داوُدُ اللهَ: «هَلْ أصْعَدُ لِمُحارَبَةِ الفِلِسْطِيّينَ؟ هَلْ سَتُعِينُنِي عَلَى هَزِيمَتِهِم؟» فقالَ اللهُ: «نَعَمْ، سأُعِينُكَ عَلَى هَزِيمَةِ الفِلِسْطيّينَ.»

20 A nd David came to Baalperazim, and David smote them there, and said, The Lord hath broken forth upon mine enemies before me, as the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baalperazim.

فَذَهَبَ داوُدُ إلَى بَعلِ فَراصِيمَ، وَهَزَمَ الفِلِسْطيّينَ هُناكَ. ثُمَّ قالَ: «قَدِ اخْتَرَقَ اللهُ صُفوفَ أعْدائِي كَما تَختَرِقُ المِياهُ سَدّاً.» فَدعا داوُدُ ذَلِكَ المَكانَ «بَعلَ فَراصِيمَ.»

21 A nd there they left their images, and David and his men burned them.

وَتَرَكَ الفِلِسْطيوّنَ تَماثِيلَ آلِهَتِهِم هُناكَ، فِي بَعلَ فَراصِيمَ، فَأخَذَها داوُدُ وَرِجالُهُ.

22 A nd the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

وَعادَ الفِلِسْطيوّنَ وَأقامُوا مُعَسْكِرَهُم في وادِي رَفائِيمَ.

23 A nd when David enquired of the Lord, he said, Thou shalt not go up; but fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.

وَصلَّى داوُدُ إلَى اللهِ. وَهَذهِ المَرَّةُ، قالَ لهُ: «لا تَهجُمْ عَلَيهِمْ مُواجَهَةً، بَلْ دُرْ حَولَهُمْ وَاهجُمْ مِنْ ناحِيَةِ أدغالِ البُكا.

24 A nd let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then shall the Lord go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines.

فَعِنْدَ قِمَّةِ أشجارِ البَلَسانِ هَذِه، سَتَتَمكَّنُ مِنْ سَماعِ الفِلِسْطيّينَ وَهُمْ قادِمُونَ إلَى المَعْرَكَةِ. حِينَئِذٍ، عَلَيكَ أنْ تَتَصَرَّفَ بِسُرْعَةٍ لأنَّ اللهَ سَيَخْرُجُ أمامَكَ فِي ذَلِكَ اليَومِ لِهَزِيمَةِ جَيشِ الفِلِسطيِّينَ.»

25 A nd David did so, as the Lord had commanded him; and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou come to Gazer.

فَعَلَ داوُدُ ما أمَرَهُ بِهِ اللهُ وَهَزَمَ الفِلِسْطيّينَ. فَطارَدَهُم وَقَتَلَهُم عَلَى امْتِدادِ الطَّرِيقِ مِنْ جَبْعٍ إلَى جازَرَ.
