Psalm 62 ~ Psalm 62

1 M y soul is quiet and waits for God alone. He is the One Who saves me.

Upon God alone doth my soul rest peacefully; from him is my salvation.

2 H e alone is my rock and the One Who saves me. He is my strong place. I will not be shaken.

He only is my rock and my salvation; my high fortress: I shall not be greatly moved.

3 H ow long will all of you go against a man to break him down, that you may kill him, like a wall that no longer stands straight, like a fence ready to fall?

How long will ye assail a man; will ye, all of you, to break him down as a bowing wall or a tottering fence?

4 T hey have talked only about throwing him down from his high place. They find joy in lies. They pray with their mouth that good will come. But inside they hope that bad will come instead.

They only consult to thrust down from his excellency; they delight in lies; they bless with their mouth, but in their inward part they curse. Selah.

5 M y soul is quiet and waits for God alone. My hope comes from Him.

Upon God alone, O my soul, rest peacefully; for my expectation is from him.

6 H e alone is my rock and the One Who saves me. He is my strong place. I will not be shaken.

He only is my rock and my salvation; my high fortress: I shall not be moved.

7 M y being safe and my honor rest with God. My safe place is in God, the rock of my strength.

With God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.

8 T rust in Him at all times, O people. Pour out your heart before Him. God is a safe place for us.

Confide in him at all times, ye people; pour out your heart before him: God is our refuge. Selah.

9 M en who are not important come to nothing. Men who are important are a lie. When weighed they go up. Together they weigh less than a breath.

Men of low degree are only vanity; men of high degree, a lie: laid in the balance, they go up together than vanity.

10 D o not get money in a wrong way or be proud in stolen things. If you get more riches, do not set your heart on them.

Put not confidence in oppression, and become not vain in robbery; if wealth increase, set not your heart upon it.

11 G od has spoken once. I have heard this twice: Power belongs to God.

Once hath God spoken, twice have I heard this, that strength unto God.

12 A nd loving-kindness belongs to You, O Lord. For You pay every man by the work he has done.

And unto thee, O Lord, loving-kindness; for thou renderest to every man according to his work.
