1 T his is what the Lord says to Cyrus, whom He has chosen, whose right hand He has held, “I send him to put nations under his power, and to take away the power of kings. And I will open doors in front of him so that gates will not be shut.

Thus saith Jehovah to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him—and I will loose the loins of kings; to open before him the two-leaved doors, and the gates shall not be shut:

2 I will go before you and make the hard places smooth. I will break the brass doors to pieces, and cut through their iron gates.

I will go before thee, and make the elevated places plain; I will break in pieces the brazen doors, and cut asunder the bars of iron;

3 I will give you riches hidden in the darkness and things of great worth that are hidden in secret places. Then you may know that it is I, the Lord, the God of Israel, who calls you by name.

and I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places; that thou mayest know that I, Jehovah, who call thee by name, the God of Israel.

4 F or the good of Jacob My servant and Israel My chosen one, I called you by your name. I gave you a name of honor, when you had not known Me.

For Jacob my servant's sake, and Israel mine elect, I have called thee by thy name; I surnamed thee, though thou didst not know me;

5 I am the Lord, and there is no other. There is no God besides Me. I will give you strength, even though you have not known Me.

I Jehovah, and there is none else; there is no God beside me: I girded thee, and thou hast not known me;

6 T hen men may know from sunrise to sunset that there is no God besides Me. I am the Lord, and there is no other.

—that they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the going down, that there is none beside me. I Jehovah, and there is none else;

7 I make light and I make darkness. I bring good and I make trouble. I am the Lord Who does all these things.

forming the light and creating darkness, making peace and creating evil: I, Jehovah, do all these things.

8 Send down, O heavens, from above, and let the clouds pour down what is right and good. Let the earth open up and bring the fruit of saving power. And let what is right and good grow with it. I the Lord have made it.

Drop down, heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness; let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and with it let righteousness spring up. I, Jehovah, have created it.

9 It is bad for the one who works against His Maker. He is just a clay pot among the other pots of earth. Will the clay say to the pot-maker, ‘What are you doing?’ or, your work say, ‘He has no hands’?

Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let a potsherd with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that formeth it, What makest thou? Or thy work, He hath no hands?

10 I t is bad for him who says to his father, ‘To what are you giving life?’ or to a woman, ‘To what are you giving birth?’”

Woe unto him that saith unto father, What begettest thou? Or to mother, What hast thou brought forth?

11 T he Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, says, “Will you ask Me about the things to come for My children? Will you tell Me about the work of My hands?

Thus saith Jehovah, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker: Ask me of the things to come; concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands, command ye me.

12 I made the earth, and made man upon it. I spread out the heavens with My hands, and put all the stars in their places.

It is I that have made the earth, and created man upon it; it is I, my hands, that have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.

13 I have sent Cyrus to do what is right and good. And I will make all his ways smooth. He will build My city and without any money will set My people free who were taken away,” says the Lord of All.

It is I that have raised him up in righteousness, and I will make all his ways straight: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives, not for price nor reward, saith Jehovah of hosts.

14 T he Lord says, “The riches of Egypt and the good things of Cush and the tall Sabeans will come over to you and be yours. They will walk behind you in chains and bow down to you. They will beg you, saying, ‘For sure God is with you, and there is no other God. There is none other.’”

Thus saith Jehovah: The wealth of Egypt, and the merchandise of Ethiopia and the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over unto thee, and they shall be thine: they shall walk after thee; in chains they shall come over, and they shall bow down unto thee, they shall make supplication unto thee, Surely God is in thee; and there is none else, no other God. …

15 I t is true that You are a God Who hides Himself, O God of Israel, the One Who saves!

Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour. …

16 A ll of them will be put to shame and troubled. Those who make false gods will go away together in shame.

They shall be ashamed, and also confounded, all of them; they shall go away in confusion together, the makers of idols.

17 I srael has been saved forever by the Lord. You will never be put to shame for all time.

Israel shall be saved by Jehovah with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded, unto the ages of ages.

18 T his is what the Lord Who made the heavens, the God Who planned and made the earth, and everything in it and did not make it a waste place, but made it a place for people to live in, says, “I am the Lord, and there is no other.

For thus saith Jehovah who created the heavens, God himself who formed the earth and made it, he who established it,—not as waste did he create it: he formed it to be inhabited:—I Jehovah, and there is none else.

19 I have not spoken in secret in some dark land. I did not say to the children of Jacob, ‘Look for Me for nothing.’ I the Lord speak the truth. I say what is right.

I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth; I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek me in vain: I Jehovah, speaking righteousness, declaring things which are right.

20 Gather together and come. Come near together, you who are left of the nations. They have no learning, who carry around their false god made of wood and pray to a god who cannot save.

Gather yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations. They have no knowledge that carry the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save.

21 M ake your need known. Yes, let them talk it over together. Who said this would happen from long ago? Who has been saying it for a long time? Is it not I, the Lord? There is no other God besides Me, a God Who is right and good, a God Who saves. There is none except Me.

Declare and bring near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath caused this to be heard from ancient time? hath declared it long ago? Is it not I, Jehovah? And there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour, there is none besides me.

22 L ook to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth. For I am God, and there is no other.

Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I God, and there is none else.

23 B y Myself I have sworn. The Word has gone out from My mouth in truth, and will not turn back: ‘Every knee will bow down before Me. And every tongue will say that I am God.’

I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth righteousness and shall not return, that unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

24 T hey will say of Me, ‘Strength and what is right and good are only found in the Lord.’ Men will come to Him, and all who were angry at Him will be put to shame.

Only in Jehovah, shall one say, have I righteousness and strength. To him shall come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed.

25 I n the Lord all the children of Israel will be made right, and will give praise.”

In Jehovah shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.
