1 T he Lord said to Moses,

And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

2 Tell the people of Israel to bring you pure oil from beaten olives for the light to keep a lamp burning all the time.

Command the children of Israel that they bring unto thee pure beaten olive oil for the light, to light the lamp continually.

3 O utside the curtain of the Law in the meeting tent, Aaron will keep it burning from evening to morning before the Lord always. It will be a Law forever for all your people.

Outside the veil of the testimony, in the tent of meeting, shall Aaron dress it from evening to morning before Jehovah continually: an everlasting statute throughout your generations.

4 H e will take care of the lamps on the pure gold lamp-stand before the Lord all the time. The Bread Gift

Upon the pure candlestick shall he arrange the lamps before Jehovah continually.

5 Then take fine flour and bake twelve loaves of bread. Use two jars of flour for each loaf.

And thou shalt take fine wheaten flour, and bake twelve cakes thereof; each cake shall be of two tenths.

6 S et them side by side in two rows, six in each row, on the pure gold table before the Lord.

And thou shalt set them in two rows, six in a row, upon the pure table before Jehovah.

7 P ut pure, sweet-smelling spices on each row to go with the bread as something to be remembered. It is a gift by fire to the Lord.

And thou shalt put pure frankincense upon each row; and it shall be a bread of remembrance, an offering by fire to Jehovah.

8 E very Day of Rest he will set it before the Lord all the time. It is a Law forever for the people of Israel.

Every sabbath day he shall arrange it before Jehovah continually, on the part of the children of Israel: an everlasting covenant.

9 T he bread is for Aaron and his sons who will eat it in a holy place. It is a most holy part for him out of the gifts by fire to the Lord. It is his share forever.” Punishment for a Person Who Spoke against God

And it shall be Aaron's and his sons'; and they shall eat it in a holy place; for it is most holy unto him of Jehovah's offerings by fire: an everlasting statute.

10 N ow the son of an Israelite woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went among the people of Israel. And the Israelite woman’s son and a man of Israel fought with each other among the tents.

And the son of an Israelitish woman—but withal the son of an Egyptian,—went out among the children of Israel; and this son of the Israelitess and a man of Israel strove together in the camp;

11 T he son of the Israelite woman swore against the name of the Lord. So they brought him to Moses. (His mother’s name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the family of Dan.)

and the Israelitish woman's son blasphemed the Name, and cursed; and they brought him to Moses. And his mother's name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan.

12 A nd they kept him shut up until the will of the Lord might be made known to them.

And they confined him, that they might decide at the mouth of Jehovah.

13 T hen the Lord said to Moses,

And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

14 Take the one who has sworn against Me away from the tents. Let all who heard him lay their hands on his head. Then let all the people kill him by throwing stones.

Lead the reviler outside the camp; and all that heard shall lay their hands upon his head, and the whole assembly shall stone him.

15 S ay to the people of Israel, ‘If anyone swears against his God, he will suffer for his own sin.

And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, Every one when he revileth his God shall bear his sin.

16 T he one who speaks against the name of the Lord will be put to death for sure. All the people will kill him with stones. Both the stranger and those born in the land will be put to death when he speaks against the name of the Lord.

And he that blasphemeth the name of Jehovah shall certainly be put to death; all the assembly shall certainly stone him; as well the stranger as he that is home-born, when he blasphemeth the Name, shall be put to death.

17 If a man takes the life of any human being, he will be put to death for sure.

And if any one smiteth any man mortally, he shall certainly be put to death.

18 T he one who takes the life of an animal will pay for it, a life for a life.

And he that smiteth a beast mortally shall make it good, life for life.

19 I f a man hurts his neighbor, it will be done to him just as he has done,

And if a man cause a blemish in his neighbour, as he hath done, so shall it be done to him;

20 b roken bone for broken bone, eye for eye, tooth for tooth. Just as he has hurt a man, so he will be hurt.

breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: as he hath caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be done to him.

21 S o the one who kills an animal will pay for it with an animal. But the one who kills a man will be put to death.

He that smiteth a beast shall make it good; and he that smiteth a man shall be put to death.

22 Y ou will have the same Law for the stranger and for the one born among you. For I am the Lord your God.’”

Ye shall have one law: as the stranger, so the home-born; for I am Jehovah your God.

23 T hen Moses spoke to the people of Israel. And they took the one who swore against God and brought him away from the tents and killed him with stones. So the people of Israel did as the Lord told Moses.

And Moses spoke to the children of Israel; and they led the reviler outside the camp and stoned him with stones. And the children of Israel did as Jehovah had commanded Moses.
