1 T hen Job answered the Lord, and said,
And Job answered Jehovah and said,
2 “ I know that You can do all things. Nothing can put a stop to Your plans.
I know that thou canst do everything, and that thou canst be hindered in no thought of thine.
3 ‘ Who is this that hides words of wisdom without much learning?’ I have said things that I did not understand, things too great for me, which I did not know.
Who is he that obscureth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered what I did not understand; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.
4 ‘ Hear now, and I will speak. I will ask you, and you answer Me.’
Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of thee, and inform me.
5 I had heard of You only by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees You.
I had heard of thee by the hearing of the ear, but now mine eye seeth thee:
6 S o I hate the things that I have said. And I put dust and ashes on myself to show how sorry I am.” Job Is Richer Now
Wherefore I abhor, and repent in dust and ashes.
7 A fter the Lord had spoken these words to Job, the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “My anger burns against you and your two friends, because you have not spoken of Me what is right, as My servant Job has.
And it came to pass after Jehovah had spoken these words to Job, that Jehovah said to Eliphaz the Temanite, Mine anger is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends; for ye have not spoken rightly of me, like my servant Job.
8 S o now take seven bulls and seven rams, and go to My servant Job. Give a burnt gift for yourselves, and My servant Job will pray for you. For I will hear his prayer and not punish you for being foolish, because you have not spoken of Me what is right, as My servant Job has.”
And now, take for yourselves seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt-offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you, for him will I accept: lest I deal with you folly, for ye have not spoken of me rightly, like my servant Job.
9 S o Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite, did what the Lord told them. And the Lord heard Job’s prayer.
Then Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite, went and did according as Jehovah had said unto them; and Jehovah accepted Job.
10 T he Lord returned to Job all the things that he had lost, when he prayed for his friends. The Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.
And Jehovah turned the captivity of Job, when he had prayed for his friends; and Jehovah gave Job twice as much as he had before.
11 T hen all his brothers and sisters and all who had known him before came to him, and ate bread with him in his house. They showed pity and comforted him for all the trouble the Lord had brought upon him. Each one gave him one piece of money and a gold ring.
And all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, came to him, and they ate bread with him in his house, and they condoled with him, and comforted him concerning all the evil that Jehovah had brought upon him; and every one gave him a piece of money, and every one a golden ring.
12 T he Lord brought more good to Job in his later years than in his beginning. He had 14, 000 sheep, 6, 000 camels, 2, 000 oxen, and 1, 000 female donkeys.
And Jehovah blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning; and he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she-asses.
13 H e had seven sons and three daughters also.
And he had seven sons and three daughters.
14 H e gave the first the name Jemimah, the second Keziah, and the third Keren-happuch.
And he called the name of the first, Jemimah; and the name of the second, Keziah; and the name of the third, Keren-happuch.
15 N o women were found in all the land who were as beautiful as Job’s daughters. And their father gave them a share among their brothers.
And in all the land were no women found fair as the daughters of Job; and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren.
16 A fter this Job lived 140 years, and saw his sons, his grandsons, and even their sons.
And Job lived after this a hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons' sons, four generations.
