2 D eliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips And from a deceitful tongue.

Deliver my soul, Yahweh, from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue.

3 W hat shall be given to you, Or what shall be done to you, You false tongue?

What will be given to you, and what will be done more to you, you deceitful tongue?

4 S harp arrows of the warrior, With coals of the broom tree!

Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.

5 W oe is me, that I dwell in Meshech, That I dwell among the tents of Kedar!

Woe is me, that I live in Meshech, that I dwell among the tents of Kedar!

6 M y soul has dwelt too long With one who hates peace.

7 I am for peace; But when I speak, they are for war.

I am for peace, but when I speak, they are for war.
