1 P raise the Lord! (Hallelujah!) I will praise and give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart in the council of the upright and in the congregation.

Hallelujah! I will celebrate Jehovah with whole heart, in the council of the upright, and in the assembly.

2 T he works of the Lord are great, sought out by all those who have delight in them.

Great are the works of Jehovah; sought out of all that delight in them.

3 H is work is honorable and glorious, and His righteousness endures forever.

His work is majesty and splendour, and his righteousness abideth for ever.

4 H e has made His wonderful works to be remembered; the Lord is gracious, merciful, and full of loving compassion.

He hath made his wonders to be remembered: Jehovah is gracious and merciful.

5 H e has given food and provision to those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him; He will remember His covenant forever and imprint it.

He hath given meat unto them that fear him; he is ever mindful of his covenant.

6 H e has declared and shown to His people the power of His works in giving them the heritage of the nations.

He hath shewn his people the power of his works, to give them the heritage of the nations.

7 T he works of His hands are truth and justice; and all His decrees and precepts are sure (fixed, established, and trustworthy).

The works of his hands are truth and judgment; all his precepts are faithful:

8 T hey stand fast and are established forever and ever and are done in truth and uprightness.

Maintained for ever and ever, done in truth and uprightness.

9 H e has sent redemption to His people; He has commanded His covenant to be forever; holy is His name, inspiring awe, reverence, and godly fear.

He sent deliverance unto his people; he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and terrible is his name.

10 T he reverent fear and worship of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom and skill; a good understanding, wisdom, and meaning have all those who do. Their praise of Him endures forever.

The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom; a good understanding have all they that do: his praise abideth for ever.
