1 T hen Job answered,

约 伯 回 答 说 ：

2 “ Be careful to listen to my words. Let this be the comfort you give me.

你 们 要 细 听 我 的 言 语 ， 就 算 是 你 们 安 慰 我 。

3 L isten to me while I speak. Then after I have spoken, you may keep on making fun of me.

请 宽 容 我 ， 我 又 要 说 话 ； 说 了 以 後 ， 任 凭 你 们 嗤 笑 罢 ！

4 A s for me, am I complaining against man? Why should my spirit not be troubled?

我 岂 是 向 人 诉 冤 ？ 为 何 不 焦 急 呢 ？

5 L ook at me, and be surprised; and put your hand over your mouth.

你 们 要 看 着 我 而 惊 奇 ， 用 手 捂 口 。

6 W hen I think, I am troubled; and fear takes hold of my body.

我 每 逢 思 想 ， 心 就 惊 惶 ， 浑 身 战 兢 。

7 W hy do the sinful live, become old, and become very powerful?

恶 人 为 何 存 活 ， 享 大 寿 数 ， 势 力 强 盛 呢 ？

8 T hey watch their children’s children become strong in front of their eyes.

他 们 眼 见 儿 孙 ， 和 他 们 一 同 坚 立 。

9 T heir houses are safe from fear. And the punishment of God does not come upon them.

他 们 的 家 宅 平 安 无 惧 ； 神 的 杖 也 不 加 在 他 们 身 上 。

10 T heir bull mates without trouble. Their cow gives birth to live calves.

他 们 的 公 牛 孳 生 而 不 断 绝 ； 母 牛 下 犊 而 不 掉 胎 。

11 T hey send out their little ones like a flock, and their children jump around.

他 们 打 发 小 孩 子 出 去 ， 多 如 羊 群 ； 他 们 的 儿 女 踊 跃 跳 舞 。

12 T hey sing to the timbrel and the harp. They show their joy at the sound of the horn.

他 们 随 着 琴 鼓 歌 唱 ， 又 因 箫 声 欢 喜 。

13 T hey spend their days with much more than they need. And all at once they go down to the place of the dead.

他 们 度 日 诸 事 亨 通 ， 转 眼 下 入 阴 间 。

14 T hey say to God, ‘Leave us alone! We do not want to know Your ways.

他 们 对 神 说 ： 离 开 我 们 罢 ！ 我 们 不 愿 晓 得 你 的 道 。

15 W ho is the All-powerful, that we should serve Him? What would we have more than we have if we prayed to Him?’

全 能 者 是 谁 ， 我 们 何 必 事 奉 他 呢 ？ 求 告 他 有 甚 麽 益 处 呢 ？

16 S ee, their well-being is not in their own hands. The wisdom of the sinful is far from me.

看 哪 ， 他 们 亨 通 不 在 乎 自 己 ； 恶 人 所 谋 定 的 离 我 好 远 。

17 “ How many times is the lamp of the sinful put out, that their trouble comes upon them? How often does God send trouble to them in His anger?

恶 人 的 灯 何 尝 熄 灭 ？ 患 难 何 尝 临 到 他 们 呢 ？ 神 何 尝 发 怒 ， 向 他 们 分 散 灾 祸 呢 ？

18 A re they like straw blown by the wind? Are they like straw that the storm carries away?

他 们 何 尝 像 风 前 的 碎 秸 ， 如 暴 风 刮 去 的 糠 秕 呢 ？

19 Y ou say, ‘God stores up a man’s punishment for his sons.’ Let God punish him so that he may know it.

你 们 说 ： 神 为 恶 人 的 儿 女 积 蓄 罪 孽 ； 我 说 ： 不 如 本 人 受 报 ， 好 使 他 亲 自 知 道 。

20 L et his own eyes see himself being destroyed. Let him drink the anger of the All-powerful.

愿 他 亲 眼 看 见 自 己 败 亡 ， 亲 自 饮 全 能 者 的 忿 怒 。

21 F or what does he care for his house and family after he is dead, when the number of his months is over?

他 的 岁 月 既 尽 ， 他 还 顾 他 本 家 麽 ？

22 C an anyone teach God anything, when He judges those on high?

神 既 审 判 那 在 高 位 的 ， 谁 能 将 知 识 教 训 他 呢 ？

23 O ne man dies while still very strong, having everything he needs and time to enjoy it.

有 人 至 死 身 体 强 壮 ， 尽 得 平 靖 安 逸 ；

24 H is body has good food and his bones are strong.

他 的 奶 桶 充 满 ， 他 的 骨 髓 滋 润 。

25 A nother dies with bitter feelings in his soul, never having enjoyed anything good.

有 人 至 死 心 中 痛 苦 ， 终 身 未 尝 福 乐 的 滋 味 ；

26 T ogether they lie down in the dust, and worms cover them.

他 们 一 样 躺 卧 在 尘 土 中 ， 都 被 虫 子 遮 盖 。

27 “ See, I know your thoughts and your plans to wrong me.

我 知 道 你 们 的 意 思 ， 并 诬 害 我 的 计 谋 。

28 F or you say, ‘Where is the house of the leader? Where are the tents where the sinful men live?’

你 们 说 ： 霸 者 的 房 屋 在 哪 里 ？ 恶 人 住 过 的 帐 棚 在 哪 里 ？

29 H ave you not asked those who travel this way? Do you listen to what they say?

你 们 岂 没 有 询 问 过 路 的 人 麽 ？ 不 知 道 他 们 所 引 的 证 据 麽 ？

30 F or the sinful are kept for the day of trouble. They will be brought out on the day of anger.

就 是 恶 人 在 祸 患 的 日 子 得 存 留 ， 在 发 怒 的 日 子 得 逃 脱 。

31 W ho will talk to him about his way to his face? And who will punish him for what he has done?

他 所 行 的 ， 有 谁 当 面 给 他 说 明 ； 他 所 做 的 ， 有 谁 报 应 他 呢 ？

32 W hen he is carried to the grave, men will keep watch over his grave.

然 而 他 要 被 抬 到 茔 地 ； 并 有 人 看 守 坟 墓 。

33 T he earth of the valley will be sweet to him. All men will follow after him, and those who go before him are too many to number.

他 要 以 谷 中 的 土 块 为 甘 甜 ； 在 他 以 先 去 的 无 数 ， 在 他 以 後 去 的 更 多 。

34 H ow then can you comfort me with foolish words? Your answers are full of lies.”

你 们 对 答 的 话 中 既 都 错 谬 ， 怎 麽 徒 然 安 慰 我 呢 ？
