1 A nd Pashur the son of Immer, the priest—and he was chief officer in the house of Jehovah—heard Jeremiah prophesy these things.

祭 司 音 麥 的 兒 子 巴 施 戶 珥 作 耶 和 華 殿 的 總 管 ， 聽 見 耶 利 米 預 言 這 些 事 ，

2 A nd Pashur smote Jeremiah the prophet, and put him in the stocks that were in the upper gate of Benjamin, which was in the house of Jehovah.

他 就 打 先 知 耶 利 米 ， 用 耶 和 華 殿 著 便 雅 憫 高 門 內 的 枷 ， 將 他 枷 在 那 裡 。

3 A nd it came to pass the next day, that Pashur brought forth Jeremiah out of the stocks; and Jeremiah said unto him, Jehovah hath not called thy name Pashur, but Magor-missabib.

次 日 ， 巴 施 戶 珥 將 耶 利 米 開 枷 釋 放 。 於 是 耶 利 米 對 他 說 ： 耶 和 華 不 是 叫 你 的 名 為 巴 施 戶 珥 ， 乃 是 叫 你 瑪 歌 珥 • 米 撒 畢 （ 就 是 四 面 驚 嚇 的 意 思 ） ，

4 F or thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I make thee a terror to thyself, and to all thy friends; and they shall fall by the sword of their enemies, and thine eyes shall see; and I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall carry them captive into Babylon, and shall smite them with the sword.

因 耶 和 華 如 此 說 ： 我 必 使 你 自 覺 驚 嚇 ， 你 也 必 使 眾 朋 友 驚 嚇 ； 他 們 必 倒 在 仇 敵 的 刀 下 ， 你 也 必 親 眼 看 見 ； 我 必 將 猶 大 人 全 交 在 巴 比 倫 王 的 手 中 ， 他 要 將 他 們 擄 到 巴 比 倫 去 ， 也 要 用 刀 將 他 們 殺 戮 。

5 A nd, I will give all the wealth of this city, and all its gains, and all its precious things, and all the treasures of the kings of Judah, will I give into the hand of their enemies; and they shall make them a prey, and take them, and carry them to Babylon.

並 且 我 要 將 這 城 中 的 一 切 貨 財 和 勞 碌 得 來 的 ， 並 一 切 珍 寶 ， 以 及 猶 大 君 王 所 有 的 寶 物 ， 都 交 在 他 們 仇 敵 的 手 中 ； 仇 敵 要 當 作 掠 物 帶 到 巴 比 倫 去 。

6 A nd thou, Pashur, and all that dwell in thy house shall go into captivity; and thou shalt come to Babylon, and there thou shalt die, and there thou shalt be buried, thou and all thy friends to whom thou hast prophesied falsehood.

你 這 巴 施 戶 珥 和 一 切 住 在 你 家 中 的 人 都 必 被 擄 去 ； 你 和 你 的 眾 朋 友 ， 就 是 你 向 他 們 說 假 預 言 的 ， 都 必 到 巴 比 倫 去 ， 要 死 在 那 著 ， 葬 在 那 著 。

7 J ehovah, thou hast enticed me, and I was enticed; thou hast laid hold of me, and hast prevailed; I am become a derision the whole day: every one mocketh me.

耶 和 華 啊 ， 你 曾 勸 導 我 ， 我 也 聽 了 你 的 勸 導 。 你 比 我 有 力 量 ， 且 勝 了 我 。 我 終 日 成 為 笑 話 ， 人 人 都 戲 弄 我 。

8 F or as oft as I speak, I cry out; I proclaim violence and spoil; for the word of Jehovah is become unto me a reproach and a derision all the day.

我 每 逢 講 論 的 時 候 ， 就 發 出 哀 聲 ， 我 喊 叫 說 ： 有 強 暴 和 毀 滅 ！ 因 為 耶 和 華 的 話 終 日 成 了 我 的 凌 辱 、 譏 刺 。

9 A nd I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name: but it was in my heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones; and I became wearied with holding in, and I could not.

我 若 說 ： 我 不 再 提 耶 和 華 ， 也 不 再 奉 他 的 名 講 論 ， 我 便 心 裡 覺 得 似 乎 有 燒 著 的 火 閉 塞 在 我 骨 中 ， 我 就 含 忍 不 住 ， 不 能 自 禁 。

10 F or I have heard the defaming of many, terror on every side: Report, and we will report it. All my familiars are watching for my stumbling: Peradventure he will be enticed, and we shall prevail against him; and we shall take our revenge on him.

我 聽 見 了 許 多 人 的 讒 謗 ， 四 圍 都 是 驚 嚇 ； 就 是 我 知 己 的 朋 友 也 都 窺 探 我 ， 願 我 跌 倒 ， 說 ： 告 他 罷 ， 我 們 也 要 告 他 ！ 或 者 他 被 引 誘 ， 我 們 就 能 勝 他 ， 在 他 身 上 報 仇 。

11 B ut Jehovah is with me as a mighty terrible one; therefore my persecutors shall stumble and shall not prevail; they shall be greatly ashamed, for they have not prospered: it shall be an everlasting confusion that shall not be forgotten.

然 而 ， 耶 和 華 與 我 同 在 ， 好 像 甚 可 怕 的 勇 士 。 因 此 ， 逼 迫 我 的 必 都 絆 跌 ， 不 能 得 勝 ； 他 們 必 大 大 蒙 羞 ， 就 是 受 永 不 忘 記 的 羞 辱 ， 因 為 他 們 行 事 沒 有 智 慧 。

12 A nd thou, Jehovah of hosts, who triest the righteous, who seest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them; for unto thee have I revealed my cause.

試 驗 義 人 、 察 看 人 肺 腑 心 腸 的 萬 軍 之 耶 和 華 啊 ， 求 你 容 我 見 你 在 他 們 身 上 報 仇 ， 因 我 將 我 的 案 件 向 你 稟 明 了 。

13 S ing ye unto Jehovah, praise Jehovah, for he hath delivered the soul of the needy from the hand of evildoers.

你 們 要 向 耶 和 華 唱 歌 ； 讚 美 耶 和 華 ！ 因 他 救 了 窮 人 的 性 命 脫 離 惡 人 的 手 。

14 C ursed be the day wherein I was born; let not the day wherein my mother bore me be blessed!

願 我 生 的 那 日 受 咒 詛 ； 願 我 母 親 產 我 的 那 日 不 蒙 福 ！

15 C ursed be the man who brought tidings to my father, saying, A man child is born unto thee; making him very glad!

給 我 父 親 報 信 說 你 得 了 兒 子 ， 使 我 父 親 甚 歡 喜 的 ， 願 那 人 受 咒 詛 。

16 A nd let that man be as the cities which Jehovah overthrew, and repented not; and let him hear a cry in the morning, and a shouting at noonday,

願 那 人 像 耶 和 華 所 傾 覆 而 不 後 悔 的 城 邑 ； 願 他 早 晨 聽 見 哀 聲 ， 晌 午 聽 見 吶 喊 ；

17 b ecause he slew me not from the womb. Or would that my mother had been my grave, and her womb always great!

因 他 在 我 未 出 胎 的 時 候 不 殺 我 ， 使 我 母 親 成 了 我 的 墳 墓 ， 胎 就 時 常 重 大 。

18 W herefore came I forth from the womb to see labour and sorrow, that my days should be consumed in shame?

我 為 何 出 胎 見 勞 碌 愁 苦 ， 使 我 的 年 日 因 羞 愧 消 滅 呢 ？
