1 W herefore, Job, I pray thee, hear my speeches, and hearken to all my words.

约 伯 啊 ， 请 听 我 的 话 ， 留 心 听 我 一 切 的 言 语 。

2 B ehold, now I have opened my mouth, my tongue hath spoken in my mouth.

我 现 在 开 口 ， 用 舌 发 言 。

3 M y words shall be of the uprightness of my heart: and my lips shall utter knowledge clearly.

我 的 言 语 要 发 明 心 中 所 存 的 正 直 ； 我 所 知 道 的 ， 我 嘴 唇 要 诚 实 地 说 出 。

4 T he spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.

神 的 灵 造 我 ； 全 能 者 的 气 使 我 得 生 。

5 I f thou canst answer me, set thy words in order before me, stand up.

你 若 回 答 我 ， 就 站 起 来 ， 在 我 面 前 陈 明 。

6 B ehold, I am according to thy wish in God's stead: I also am formed out of the clay.

我 在 神 面 前 与 你 一 样 ， 也 是 用 土 造 成 。

7 B ehold, my terror shall not make thee afraid, neither shall my hand be heavy upon thee.

我 不 用 威 严 惊 吓 你 ， 也 不 用 势 力 重 压 你 。

8 S urely thou hast spoken in mine hearing, and I have heard the voice of thy words, saying,

你 所 说 的 ， 我 听 见 了 ， 也 听 见 你 的 言 语 ， 说 ：

9 I am clean without transgression, I am innocent; neither is there iniquity in me.

我 是 清 洁 无 过 的 ， 我 是 无 辜 的 ； 在 我 里 面 也 没 有 罪 孽 。

10 B ehold, he findeth occasions against me, he counteth me for his enemy,

神 找 机 会 攻 击 我 ， 以 我 为 仇 敌 ，

11 H e putteth my feet in the stocks, he marketh all my paths.

把 我 的 脚 上 了 木 狗 ， 窥 察 我 一 切 的 道 路 。

12 B ehold, in this thou art not just: I will answer thee, that God is greater than man.

我 要 回 答 你 说 ： 你 这 话 无 理 ， 因 神 比 世 人 更 大 。

13 W hy dost thou strive against him? for he giveth not account of any of his matters.

你 为 何 与 他 争 论 呢 ？ 因 他 的 事 都 不 对 人 解 说 ？

14 F or God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not.

神 说 一 次 、 两 次 ， 世 人 却 不 理 会 。

15 I n a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;

人 躺 在 床 上 沉 睡 的 时 候 ， 神 就 用 梦 和 夜 间 的 异 象 ，

16 T hen he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction,

开 通 他 们 的 耳 朵 ， 将 当 受 的 教 训 印 在 他 们 心 上 ，

17 T hat he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.

好 叫 人 不 从 自 己 的 谋 算 ， 不 行 骄 傲 的 事 （ 原 文 是 将 骄 傲 向 人 隐 藏 ） ，

18 H e keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.

拦 阻 人 不 陷 於 坑 里 ， 不 死 在 刀 下 。

19 H e is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and the multitude of his bones with strong pain:

人 在 床 上 被 惩 治 ， 骨 头 中 不 住 地 疼 痛 ，

20 S o that his life abhorreth bread, and his soul dainty meat.

以 致 他 的 口 厌 弃 食 物 ， 心 厌 恶 美 味 。

21 H is flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen; and his bones that were not seen stick out.

他 的 肉 消 瘦 ， 不 得 再 见 ； 先 前 不 见 的 骨 头 都 凸 出 来 。

22 Y ea, his soul draweth near unto the grave, and his life to the destroyers.

他 的 灵 魂 临 近 深 坑 ； 他 的 生 命 近 於 灭 命 的 。

23 I f there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man his uprightness:

一 千 天 使 中 ， 若 有 一 个 作 传 话 的 与 神 同 在 ， 指 示 人 所 当 行 的 事 ，

24 T hen he is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.

神 就 给 他 开 恩 ， 说 ： 救 赎 他 免 得 下 坑 ； 我 已 经 得 了 赎 价 。

25 H is flesh shall be fresher than a child's: he shall return to the days of his youth:

他 的 肉 要 比 孩 童 的 肉 更 嫩 ； 他 就 返 老 还 童 。

26 H e shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness.

他 祷 告 神 ， 神 就 喜 悦 他 ， 使 他 欢 呼 朝 见 神 的 面 ； 神 又 看 他 为 义 。

27 H e looketh upon men, and if any say, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it profited me not;

他 在 人 前 歌 唱 说 ： 我 犯 了 罪 ， 颠 倒 是 非 ， 这 竟 与 我 无 益 。

28 H e will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light.

神 救 赎 我 的 灵 魂 免 入 深 坑 ； 我 的 生 命 也 必 见 光 。

29 L o, all these things worketh God oftentimes with man,

神 两 次 、 三 次 向 人 行 这 一 切 的 事 ，

30 T o bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living.

为 要 从 深 坑 救 回 人 的 灵 魂 ， 使 他 被 光 照 耀 ， 与 活 人 一 样 。

31 M ark well, O Job, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I will speak.

约 伯 啊 ， 你 当 侧 耳 听 我 的 话 ， 不 要 作 声 ， 等 我 讲 说 。

32 I f thou hast anything to say, answer me: speak, for I desire to justify thee.

你 若 有 话 说 ， 就 可 以 回 答 我 ； 你 只 管 说 ， 因 我 愿 以 你 为 是 。

33 I f not, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I shall teach thee wisdom.

若 不 然 ， 你 就 听 我 说 ； 你 不 要 作 声 ， 我 便 将 智 慧 教 训 你 。
