1 B ut as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine:
But speak thou the things which befit the sound doctrine:
2 t hat the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience;
that aged men be temperate, grave, sober-minded, sound in faith, in love, in patience:
3 t he older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things—
that aged women likewise be reverent in demeanor, not slanderers nor enslaved to much wine, teachers of that which is good;
4 t hat they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,
that they may train the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,
5 t o be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.
to be sober-minded, chaste, workers at home, kind, being in subjection to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed:
6 L ikewise, exhort the young men to be sober-minded,

7 i n all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility,
in all things showing thyself an ensample of good works; in thy doctrine showing uncorruptness, gravity,
8 s ound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you.

9 E xhort bondservants to be obedient to their own masters, to be well pleasing in all things, not answering back,

15 S peak these things, exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.
