1 T ruly my soul silently waits for God; From Him comes my salvation.

My soul waiteth in silence for God only: From him cometh my salvation.

2 H e only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved.

He only is my rock and my salvation: He is my high tower; I shall not be greatly moved.

3 H ow long will you attack a man? You shall be slain, all of you, Like a leaning wall and a tottering fence.

How long will ye set upon a man, That ye may slay him, all of you, Like a leaning wall, like a tottering fence?

4 T hey only consult to cast him down from his high position; They delight in lies; They bless with their mouth, But they curse inwardly. Selah

They only consult to thrust him down from his dignity; They delight in lies; They bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah

5 M y soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him.

My soul, wait thou in silence for God only; For my expectation is from him.

6 H e only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved.

He only is my rock and my salvation: He is my high tower; I shall not be moved.

7 I n God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God.

With God is my salvation and my glory: The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

8 T rust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah

Trust in him at all times, ye people; Pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah

9 S urely men of low degree are a vapor, Men of high degree are a lie; If they are weighed on the scales, They are altogether lighter than vapor.

Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: In the balances they will go up; They are together lighter than vanity.

10 D o not trust in oppression, Nor vainly hope in robbery; If riches increase, Do not set your heart on them.

Trust not in oppression, And become not vain in robbery: If riches increase, set not your heart thereon.

11 G od has spoken once, Twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God.

God hath spoken once, Twice have I heard this, That power belongeth unto God.

12 A lso to You, O Lord, belongs mercy; For You render to each one according to his work.

Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth lovingkindness; For thou renderest to every man according to his work.
