1 أ وصِيكَ أمامَ اللهِ وَأمامَ المَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ الَّذِي سَيَدِيْنَ الأحياءَ وَالأمواتَ عِندَ مَجِيئِهِ فِي مَلَكُوتِهِ،

I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom:

2 ب ِأنْ تَنشُرَ الرِّسالَةَ. كُنْ مُستَعِدّاً فِي وَقتٍ مُناسِبٍ وَغَيْرِ مُناسِبٍ. أقنِعِ النّاسَ، وَوَبِّخهُمْ، وَشَجِّعْ مَنْ يَحتاجُ إلَى تَشجِيْعٍ. وَافعَلْ ذَلِكَ بِتَعلِيمِهِمْ بِصَبرٍ،

Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.

3 ل ِأنَّهُ سَيَأْتِي وَقتٌ لَنْ يَحتَمِلَ فِيهِ النّاسُ سَماعَ التَّعلِيْمِ السَّلِيمِ، بَلْ سَيَختارُونَ لَهُمْ مُعَلِّمِيْنَ لِيُحَدِّثُوهُمْ بِما يُدَغْدِغُ آذانَهُمْ.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;

4 أ مّا الحَقُّ فَيُبعِدُونَ آذانَهُمْ عَنهُ، وَيَلتَفِتُونَ إلَى الخُرافاتِ.

and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

5 ف َاضبطْ أنتَ نَفسَكَ فِي كُلِّ الظُّرُوفِ. وَاحتَمِلِ المَشَقّاتِ. بَشِّرْ وَتَمِّمْ خِدمَتَكَ.

But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. Paul’s Valedictory

6 أ مّا أنا فَإنِّي أنسَكِبُ كانسِكابِ الذَّبِيحَةِ. وَها قَدْ حانَ وَقتُ رَحِيلِي عَنْ هَذِهِ الحَياةِ.

For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand.

7 ن اضَلْتُ فِي المُباراةِ النَّبِيلَةِ. أنهَيْتُ السِّباقَ. حافَظتُ عَلَى الإيمانِ.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

8 و َالآنَ يَنتَظِرُنِي إكلِيلُ البِرِّ الَّذِي سَيُنعِمُ عَلَيَّ بِهِ الرَبُّ القاضِي العادِلُ فِي ذَلِكَ اليَومِ، مَعَ كُلِّ الَّذِينَ يَتوقونَ إلَى ظُهُورِ الرَّبِّ. أُمُورٌ شَخصِيَّة

Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing. The Abandoned Apostle

9 ا فعَلْ ما فِي وُسْعِكَ لِلقُدُومِ لِزِيارَتِي فِي أسرَعِ وَقتٍ مُمكِنٍ.

Be diligent to come to me quickly;

10 د ِيْماسُ تَرَكَنِي لِأنَّهُ أحَبَّ هَذِهِ الحَياةَ الحاضِرةَ، وَمَضَى إلَى تَسالُونِيْكِي. أمّا كرِيْسكِيْسُ فَذَهَبَ إلَى غَلاطِيَّةَ. وَذَهَبَ تِيطُسُ إلَى دَلْماطِيَّةَ.

for Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and has departed for Thessalonica—Crescens for Galatia, Titus for Dalmatia.

11 ل ُوقا هُوَ الوَحِيدِ الَّذِي ما يَزالُ مَعِي. أحضِرْ مَعَكَ مَرقُسَ، فَهُوَ يَستَطِيْعُ أنْ يُعِيْنَنِي كَثِيراً فِي خِدمَتِي هُنا.

Only Luke is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, for he is useful to me for ministry.

12 ل َقَدْ أرسَلْتُ تِيخِيْكُسَ إلَى أفَسُسَ.

And Tychicus I have sent to Ephesus.

13 ع ِندَما تَأْتِي أحضِرْ مِعطَفِي الَّذِي تَرَكتُهُ فِي بَيتِ كاربُسَ فِي تْرُواسَ، وَأحضِرْ أيضاً كُتُبِي، خاصَّةً المَخطُوطاتِ الجِلدِيَّةَ.

Bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas when you come—and the books, especially the parchments.

14 ل َقَدْ سَبَّبَ لِي إسكَندَرُ الحَدّادُ أذَىً كَثِيراً. وَالرَّبُّ سَيُجازِيْهِ عَلَى كُلِّ أعمالِهِ.

Alexander the coppersmith did me much harm. May the Lord repay him according to his works.

15 ف َاحْتَرِسْ مِنهُ أنتَ أيضاً، فَقَدْ قاوَمَ رِسالَتَنا مُقاوَمَةً شَدِيْدَةً.

You also must beware of him, for he has greatly resisted our words.

16 ف ِي المَرَّةِ الأُولَى الَّتِي دافَعَتُ فيها عَنْ نَفسِي فِي المَحكَمَةِ، لَمْ يَأْتِ أحَدٌ لِيُقَفَ إلَى جانِبِي، بَلْ تَرَكَنِي الجَمِيعُ. لَيتَ اللهَ لا يَحسِبُ هَذا عَلَيهِمْ.

At my first defense no one stood with me, but all forsook me. May it not be charged against them. The Lord Is Faithful

17 ل َكِنَّ الرَّبَّ وَقَفَ إلَى جانِبِي وَقَوّانِيَ لِكَيْ أُنادِيَ بِالرِّسالَةِ كامِلَةً. وَهَكَذا سَمِعْتَها الأُمَمُ جَمِيعاً. وَأُنقِذتُ مِنْ فَمِ الأسَدِ.

But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the message might be preached fully through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. Also I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

18 و َسَيُنقِذُنِي الرَّبُّ مِنْ كُلِّ هُجُومٍ شِرِّيْرٍ، وَسَيَأْتِي بِي سالِماً إلَى مَلَكُوتِهِ السَّماوِيِّ. لَهُ المَجدُ إلَى أبَدِ الآبِدِيْنَ. آمِيْن. تَحِيّاتٌ خِتامِيَّة

And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen! Come Before Winter

19 س َلِّمْ عَلَى فِرِسْكا وَأكِيلا وَعَلَى بَيتِ أُنيسِيفُورُسَ.

Greet Prisca and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus.

20 ب َقِيَ أراستُسَ فِي كُورُنثُوسَ، أمّا تْرُوفِيْمُوسَ فَتَرَكتُهُ فِي مِيلِيْتُسَ لِأنَّهُ كانَ مَرِيضاً.

Erastus stayed in Corinth, but Trophimus I have left in Miletus sick.

21 ا فعَلْ ما فِي وُسْعِكَ لِلقُدُومِ قَبلَ الشِّتاءِ. يُسَلِّمُ عَلَيكَ أفْبُولُسُ وَبُودِيْسُ وَلِينُسُ وَكَلافِدِيَّةُ وَجَمِيعُ الإخوَةِ.

Do your utmost to come before winter. Eubulus greets you, as well as Pudens, Linus, Claudia, and all the brethren. Farewell

22 ل ِيَكُنِ الرَّبُّ يَسُوعُ مَعَكَ. لِتَكُنْ نِعمَةُ اللهِ مَعَكُمْ.
