1 J ehovah our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy majesty above the heavens.

O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens!

2 O ut of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou established praise because of thine adversaries, to still the enemy and the avenger.

Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength, Because of Your enemies, That You may silence the enemy and the avenger.

3 W hen I see thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and stars, which thou hast established;

When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained,

4 W hat is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him?

5 T hou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and splendour.

For You have made him a little lower than the angels, And You have crowned him with glory and honor.

6 T hou hast made him to rule over the works of thy hands; thou hast put everything under his feet:

You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet,

7 S heep and oxen, all of them, and also the beasts of the field;

All sheep and oxen— Even the beasts of the field,

8 T he fowl of the heavens, and the fishes of the sea, passeth through the paths of the seas.

The birds of the air, And the fish of the sea That pass through the paths of the seas.

9 J ehovah our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!
