1 A nd Solomon was thirteen years building his own house; and he finished all his house.

But Solomon took thirteen years to build his own house; so he finished all his house.

2 A nd he built the house of the forest of Lebanon; its length was a hundred cubits, and its breadth fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits, upon four rows of cedar-pillars, with cedar-beams upon the pillars;

He also built the House of the Forest of Lebanon; its length was one hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits, with four rows of cedar pillars, and cedar beams on the pillars.

3 a nd it was covered with cedar above upon the side-chambers, which were on forty-five pillars, fifteen in a row.

And it was paneled with cedar above the beams that were on forty-five pillars, fifteen to a row.

4 A nd there were cross-beams in three rows, and window was against window in three ranks.

There were windows with beveled frames in three rows, and window was opposite window in three tiers.

5 A nd all the doors and posts were square, with an architrave; and window was against window in three ranks.

And all the doorways and doorposts had rectangular frames; and window was opposite window in three tiers.

6 A nd he made the porch of pillars; its length was fifty cubits, and its breadth thirty cubits; and there was a porch in front of them; and there were pillars, and steps in front of them.

He also made the Hall of Pillars: its length was fifty cubits, and its width thirty cubits; and in front of them was a portico with pillars, and a canopy was in front of them.

7 A nd he made the porch for the throne where he judged, the porch of judgment; and it was covered with cedar from floor to floor.

Then he made a hall for the throne, the Hall of Judgment, where he might judge; and it was paneled with cedar from floor to ceiling.

8 A nd his house where he dwelt had another court within the porch, which was of the like work. And he made, like to this porch, a house for Pharaoh's daughter, whom Solomon had taken.

And the house where he dwelt had another court inside the hall, of like workmanship. Solomon also made a house like this hall for Pharaoh’s daughter, whom he had taken as wife.

9 A ll these were of costly stones, hewn stones, according to the measures, sawed with saws, within and without, even from the foundation to the coping, and on the outside as far as the great court.

All these were of costly stones cut to size, trimmed with saws, inside and out, from the foundation to the eaves, and also on the outside to the great court.

10 A nd the foundations were of costly stones, great stones, stones of ten cubits and stones of eight cubits.

The foundation was of costly stones, large stones, some ten cubits and some eight cubits.

11 A nd above were costly stones, hewn stones, according to the measures, and cedar.

And above were costly stones, hewn to size, and cedar wood.

12 A nd the great court round about had three rows of hewn stones, and a row of cedar-beams; and so it was for the inner court of the house of Jehovah, and the porch of the house.

The great court was enclosed with three rows of hewn stones and a row of cedar beams. So were the inner court of the house of the Lord and the vestibule of the temple. Hiram the Craftsman

13 A nd king Solomon sent and fetched Hiram out of Tyre.

Now King Solomon sent and brought Huram from Tyre.

14 H e was a widow's son of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a worker in brass; and he was full of wisdom and understanding and knowledge, to do all kinds of works in brass. And he came to king Solomon, and made all his work.

He was the son of a widow from the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a bronze worker; he was filled with wisdom and understanding and skill in working with all kinds of bronze work. So he came to King Solomon and did all his work. The Bronze Pillars for the Temple

15 A nd he formed the two pillars of brass; the height of one pillar was eighteen cubits, and a line of twelve cubits encompassed the second pillar.

And he cast two pillars of bronze, each one eighteen cubits high, and a line of twelve cubits measured the circumference of each.

16 A nd he made two capitals of molten brass, to set upon the tops of the pillars; the height of the one capital was five cubits, and the height of the other capital was five cubits;

Then he made two capitals of cast bronze, to set on the tops of the pillars. The height of one capital was five cubits, and the height of the other capital was five cubits.

17 n ets of checker-work, wreaths of chain-work, for the capitals which were upon the top of the pillars; seven for the one capital and seven for the other capital.

He made a lattice network, with wreaths of chainwork, for the capitals which were on top of the pillars: seven chains for one capital and seven for the other capital.

18 A nd he made pomegranates, namely two rows round about upon the one network, to cover the capitals that were upon the top of the pillars; and so he did for the other capital.

So he made the pillars, and two rows of pomegranates above the network all around to cover the capitals that were on top; and thus he did for the other capital.

19 A nd the capitals that were upon the top of the pillars were of lily-work in the porch, four cubits.

The capitals which were on top of the pillars in the hall were in the shape of lilies, four cubits.

20 A nd the capitals upon the two pillars, above also, close to the enlargement which was behind the network, had two hundred pomegranates in rows round about, on the other capital.

The capitals on the two pillars also had pomegranates above, by the convex surface which was next to the network; and there were two hundred such pomegranates in rows on each of the capitals all around.

21 A nd he set up the pillars for the porch of the temple; and he set up the right pillar, and called its name Jachin; and he set up the left pillar, and called its name Boaz.

Then he set up the pillars by the vestibule of the temple; he set up the pillar on the right and called its name Jachin, and he set up the pillar on the left and called its name Boaz.

22 A nd upon the top of the pillars was lily-work; and the work of the pillars was finished.

The tops of the pillars were in the shape of lilies. So the work of the pillars was finished. The Sea and the Oxen

23 A nd he made the sea, molten, ten cubits from brim to brim, round all about; and its height was five cubits; and a line of thirty cubits encompassed it round about.

And he made the Sea of cast bronze, ten cubits from one brim to the other; it was completely round. Its height was five cubits, and a line of thirty cubits measured its circumference.

24 A nd under the brim of it round about there were colocynths, encompassing it, ten in a cubit enclosing the sea round about; two rows of colocynths, cast when it was cast.

Below its brim were ornamental buds encircling it all around, ten to a cubit, all the way around the Sea. The ornamental buds were cast in two rows when it was cast.

25 I t stood upon twelve oxen, three looking toward the north, and three looking toward the west, and three looking toward the south, and three looking toward the east; and the sea was above upon them, and all their hinder parts were inward.

It stood on twelve oxen: three looking toward the north, three looking toward the west, three looking toward the south, and three looking toward the east; the Sea was set upon them, and all their back parts pointed inward.

26 A nd its thickness was a hand-breadth, and its brim was like the work of the brim of a cup, with lily-blossoms; it held two thousand baths.

It was a handbreadth thick; and its brim was shaped like the brim of a cup, like a lily blossom. It contained two thousand baths. The Carts and the Lavers

27 A nd he made ten bases of brass: four cubits was the length of one base, and the breadth four cubits, and the height three cubits.

He also made ten carts of bronze; four cubits was the length of each cart, four cubits its width, and three cubits its height.

28 A nd the work of the bases was this: they had panels, and the panels were between the fillets.

And this was the design of the carts: They had panels, and the panels were between frames;

29 A nd on the panels that were between the fillets were lions, oxen and cherubim; and over the fillets there was a base above; and beneath the lions and oxen were garlands of festoon-work.

on the panels that were between the frames were lions, oxen, and cherubim. And on the frames was a pedestal on top. Below the lions and oxen were wreaths of plaited work.

30 A nd every base had four wheels of brass, and axles of brass; and on its four corners were shoulder-pieces: under the laver were shoulder-pieces molten, behind every garland.

Every cart had four bronze wheels and axles of bronze, and its four feet had supports. Under the laver were supports of cast bronze beside each wreath.

31 A nd the mouth of it within the crown and above was a cubit; and its mouth was rounded, the work of the base, a cubit and a half; and also upon its mouth was sculpture; but their panels were square, not round.

Its opening inside the crown at the top was one cubit in diameter; and the opening was round, shaped like a pedestal, one and a half cubits in outside diameter; and also on the opening were engravings, but the panels were square, not round.

32 A nd the four wheels were under the panels; and the supports of the wheels were in the base; and the height of a wheel was a cubit and half a cubit.

Under the panels were the four wheels, and the axles of the wheels were joined to the cart. The height of a wheel was one and a half cubits.

33 A nd the work of the wheels was like the work of a chariot wheel: their supports, and their rims, and their spokes and their naves were all molten.

The workmanship of the wheels was like the workmanship of a chariot wheel; their axle pins, their rims, their spokes, and their hubs were all of cast bronze.

34 A nd there were four shoulder-pieces to the four corners of one base; of the base itself were its shoulder-pieces.

And there were four supports at the four corners of each cart; its supports were part of the cart itself.

35 A nd in the top of the base there was a circular elevation of half a cubit round about; and on the top of the base its stays and its panels were of the same.

On the top of the cart, at the height of half a cubit, it was perfectly round. And on the top of the cart, its flanges and its panels were of the same casting.

36 A nd he engraved on the plates of its stays and on its panels cherubim, lions and palm-trees, according to the space upon each; and garlands were round about.

On the plates of its flanges and on its panels he engraved cherubim, lions, and palm trees, wherever there was a clear space on each, with wreaths all around.

37 A fter this he made the ten bases: all of them had one casting, one measure, one form.

Thus he made the ten carts. All of them were of the same mold, one measure, and one shape.

38 A nd he made ten lavers of brass: one laver contained forty baths; every laver was four cubits; upon every one of the ten bases one laver.

Then he made ten lavers of bronze; each laver contained forty baths, and each laver was four cubits. On each of the ten carts was a laver.

39 A nd he put the bases, five on the right side of the house, and five on the left side of the house; and he set the sea on the right side of the house eastward, over against the south.

And he put five carts on the right side of the house, and five on the left side of the house. He set the Sea on the right side of the house, toward the southeast. Furnishings of the Temple

40 A nd Hiram made the lavers, and the shovels, and the bowls. So Hiram ended doing all the work that he made for king Solomon the house of Jehovah:

Huram made the lavers and the shovels and the bowls. So Huram finished doing all the work that he was to do for King Solomon for the house of the Lord:

41 t wo pillars, and the globes of the capitals that were on the top of the pillars, two; and the two networks, to cover the two globes of the capitals which were on the top of the pillars;

the two pillars, the two bowl-shaped capitals that were on top of the two pillars; the two networks covering the two bowl-shaped capitals which were on top of the pillars;

42 a nd the four hundred pomegranates for the two networks, two rows of pomegranates for one network, to cover the two globes of the capitals which were upon the pillars;

four hundred pomegranates for the two networks (two rows of pomegranates for each network, to cover the two bowl-shaped capitals that were on top of the pillars);

43 a nd the ten bases, and the ten lavers on the bases;

the ten carts, and ten lavers on the carts;

44 a nd one sea, and the twelve oxen under the sea;

one Sea, and twelve oxen under the Sea;

45 a nd the pots, and the shovels, and the bowls. And all these things, which Hiram made king Solomon for the house of Jehovah, were of bright brass.

the pots, the shovels, and the bowls. All these articles which Huram made for King Solomon for the house of the Lord were of burnished bronze.

46 I n the plain of the Jordan did the king cast them, in the clay-ground between Succoth and Zaretan.

In the plain of Jordan the king had them cast in clay molds, between Succoth and Zaretan.

47 A nd Solomon left all the vessels from their exceeding number; the weight of the brass was not ascertained.

And Solomon did not weigh all the articles, because there were so many; the weight of the bronze was not determined.

48 A nd Solomon made all the vessels that were the house of Jehovah: the golden altar; and the table of gold, whereon was the shewbread;

Thus Solomon had all the furnishings made for the house of the Lord: the altar of gold, and the table of gold on which was the showbread;

49 a nd the candlesticks of pure gold, five on the right, and five on the left, before the oracle; and the flowers, and the lamps, and the tongs of gold,

the lampstands of pure gold, five on the right side and five on the left in front of the inner sanctuary, with the flowers and the lamps and the wick-trimmers of gold;

50 a nd the basons, and the knives, and the bowls, and the cups, and the censers of pure gold; and the hinges of gold, for the folding-doors of the inner house, the most holy place, for the doors of the house, of the temple.

the basins, the trimmers, the bowls, the ladles, and the censers of pure gold; and the hinges of gold, both for the doors of the inner room (the Most Holy Place ) and for the doors of the main hall of the temple.

51 A nd all the work was finished that king Solomon made for the house of Jehovah. And Solomon brought in the things that David his father had dedicated; the silver and the gold and the vessels he put among the treasures of the house of Jehovah.

So all the work that King Solomon had done for the house of the Lord was finished; and Solomon brought in the things which his father David had dedicated: the silver and the gold and the furnishings. He put them in the treasuries of the house of the Lord.
