1 T he words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.

利 慕 伊 勒 王 的 言 语 ， 是 他 母 亲 教 训 他 的 真 言 。

2 W hat, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?

我 的 儿 啊 ， 我 腹 中 生 的 儿 啊 ， 我 许 愿 得 的 儿 啊 ！ 我 当 怎 样 教 训 你 呢 ？

3 G ive not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.

不 要 将 你 的 精 力 给 妇 女 ； 也 不 要 有 败 坏 君 王 的 行 为 。

4 I t is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:

利 慕 伊 勒 啊 ， 君 王 喝 酒 ， 君 王 喝 酒 不 相 宜 ； 王 子 说 浓 酒 在 那 里 也 不 相 宜 ；

5 l est they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.

恐 怕 喝 了 就 忘 记 律 例 ， 颠 倒 一 切 困 苦 人 的 是 非 。

6 G ive strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.

可 以 把 浓 酒 给 将 亡 的 人 喝 ， 把 清 酒 给 苦 心 的 人 喝 ，

7 L et him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.

让 他 喝 了 ， 就 忘 记 他 的 贫 穷 ， 不 再 记 念 他 的 苦 楚 。

8 O pen thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.

你 当 为 哑 巴 （ 或 译 ： 不 能 自 辩 的 ） 开 口 ， 为 一 切 孤 独 的 伸 冤 。

9 O pen thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.

你 当 开 口 按 公 义 判 断 ， 为 困 苦 和 穷 乏 的 辨 屈 。

10 W ho can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

才 德 的 妇 人 谁 能 得 着 呢 ？ 他 的 价 值 远 胜 过 珍 珠 。

11 T he heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

他 丈 夫 心 里 倚 靠 他 ， 必 不 缺 少 利 益. ；

12 S he will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

他 一 生 使 丈 夫 有 益 无 损 。

13 S he seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

他 寻 找 羊 ? 和 麻 ， 甘 心 用 手 做 工 。

14 S he is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

他 好 像 商 船 从 远 方 运 粮 来 ，

15 S he riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

未 到 黎 明 他 就 起 来 ， 把 食 物 分 给 家 中 的 人 ， 将 当 做 的 工 分 派 婢 女 。

16 S he considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

他 想 得 田 地 就 买 来 ； 用 手 所 得 之 利 栽 种 葡 萄 园 。

17 S he girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

他 以 能 力 束 腰 ， 使 膀 臂 有 力 。

18 S he perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.

他 觉 得 所 经 营 的 有 利 ； 他 的 灯 终 夜 不 灭

19 S he layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

他 手 拿 捻 线 竿 ， 手 把 纺 线 车 。

20 S he stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.

他 张 手 周 济 困 苦 人 ， 伸 手 帮 补 穷 乏 人 。

21 S he is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

他 不 因 下 雪 为 家 里 的 人 担 心 ， 因 为 全 家 都 穿 着 朱 红 衣 服 。

22 S he maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.

他 为 自 己 制 作 绣 花 毯 子 ； 他 的 衣 服 是 细 麻 和 紫 色 布 作 的 。

23 H er husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.

他 丈 夫 在 城 门 口 与 本 地 的 长 老 同 坐 ， 为 众 人 所 认 识 。

24 S he maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.

他 做 细 麻 布 衣 裳 出 卖 ， 又 将 腰 带 卖 与 商 家 。

25 S trength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

能 力 和 威 仪 是 他 的 衣 服 ； 他 想 到 日 後 的 景 况 就 喜 笑 。

26 S he openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

他 开 口 就 发 智 慧 ； 他 舌 上 有 仁 慈 的 法 则 。

27 S he looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

他 观 察 家 务 ， 并 不 吃 ? 饭 。

28 H er children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

他 的 儿 女 起 来 ， 称 他 有 福 ； 他 的 丈 夫 也 称 赞 他 ，

29 M any daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

说 ： 才 德 的 女 子 很 多 ， 惟 独 你 超 过 一 切 。

30 F avour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.

艳 丽 是 虚 假 的 ， 美 容 是 虚 浮 的 ； 惟 敬 畏 耶 和 华 的 妇 女 必 得 称 赞 。

31 G ive her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

愿 他 享 受 操 作 所 得 的 ； 愿 他 的 工 作 在 城 门 口 荣 耀 他 。
