4 w ho gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,
who gave himself for our sins, so that he should deliver us out of the present evil world, according to the will of our God and Father;
5 t o whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. Only One Gospel
to whom glory to the ages of ages. Amen.
6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel,
I wonder that ye thus quickly change, from him that called you in Christ's grace, to a different gospel,
7 w hich is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ.
which is not another; but there are some that trouble you, and desire to pervert the glad tidings of the Christ.
8 B ut even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.
But if even we or an angel out of heaven announce as glad tidings to you besides what we have announced as glad tidings to you, let him be accursed.
9 A s we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.
As we have said before, now also again I say, If any one announce to you as glad tidings besides what ye have received, let him be accursed.
10 F or do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ. Call to Apostleship
For do I now seek to satisfy men or God? or do I seek to please men? If I were yet pleasing men, I were not Christ's bondman.
11 B ut I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man.
But I let you know, brethren, the glad tidings which were announced by me, that they are not according to man.
12 F or I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ.
For neither did I receive them from man, neither was I taught, but by revelation of Jesus Christ.
13 F or you have heard of my former conduct in Judaism, how I persecuted the church of God beyond measure and tried to destroy it.
For ye have heard my conversation formerly in Judaism, that I excessively persecuted the assembly of God, and ravaged it;
14 A nd I advanced in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries in my own nation, being more exceedingly zealous for the traditions of my fathers.
and advanced in Judaism beyond many contemporaries in my nation, being exceedingly zealous of the doctrines of my fathers.
15 B ut when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace,
But when God, who set me apart from my mother's womb, and called by his grace,
16 t o reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood,
was pleased to reveal his Son in me, that I may announce him as glad tidings among the nations, immediately I took not counsel with flesh and blood,
17 n or did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia, and returned again to Damascus. Contacts at Jerusalem
nor went I up to Jerusalem to those apostles before me; but I went to Arabia, and again returned to Damascus.
18 T hen after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and remained with him fifteen days.
Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to make acquaintance with Peter, and I remained with him fifteen days;
19 B ut I saw none of the other apostles except James, the Lord’s brother.
but I saw none other of the apostles, but James the brother of the Lord.
20 ( Now concerning the things which I write to you, indeed, before God, I do not lie.)
Now what I write to you, behold, before God, I do not lie.
21 A fterward I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia.
Then I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia.
22 A nd I was unknown by face to the churches of Judea which were in Christ.
But I was unknown personally to the assemblies of Judaea which in Christ;
23 B ut they were hearing only, “He who formerly persecuted us now preaches the faith which he once tried to destroy.”
only they were hearing that he who persecuted us formerly now announces the glad tidings of the faith which formerly he ravaged:
24 A nd they glorified God in me.
and they glorified God in me.
