1 Let the LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; let the name of the God of Jacob lift thee up

May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble; May the name of the God of Jacob defend you;

2 a nd send thee help from the sanctuary and strengthen thee out of Zion

May He send you help from the sanctuary, And strengthen you out of Zion;

3 a nd remember all thy offerings and reduce thy burnt sacrifice to the ashes of burnt fat, Selah.

May He remember all your offerings, And accept your burnt sacrifice. Selah

4 G rant thee according to thine heart and fulfil all thy counsel.

May He grant you according to your heart’s desire, And fulfill all your purpose.

5 W e will rejoice in thy saving health, and in the name of our God we will be standard-bearers: let the LORD fulfil all thy petitions.

We will rejoice in your salvation, And in the name of our God we will set up our banners! May the Lord fulfill all your petitions.

6 Now know I that the LORD has kept his anointed; he will hear him from the heavens of his holiness with the saving valour of his right hand.

Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven With the saving strength of His right hand.

7 S ome trust in chariots and some in horses, but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

8 T hey are brought down and fallen, but we are risen and stand upright.

They have bowed down and fallen; But we have risen and stand upright.

9 T he LORD saves the king; let him hear us on the day when we call.

Save, Lord! May the King answer us when we call.
