1 T o You, O Lord, I lift up my soul.

By David. Unto Thee, O Jehovah, my soul I lift up.

2 O my God, in You I trust, Do not let me be ashamed; Do not let my enemies exult over me.

My God, in Thee I have trusted, Let me not be ashamed, Let not mine enemies exult over me.

3 I ndeed, none of those who wait for You will be ashamed; Those who deal treacherously without cause will be ashamed.

Also let none waiting on Thee be ashamed, Let the treacherous dealers without cause be ashamed.

4 M ake me know Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths.

Thy ways, O Jehovah, cause me to know, Thy paths teach Thou me.

5 L ead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; For You I wait all the day.

Cause me to tread in Thy truth, and teach me, For Thou the God of my salvation, Near Thee I have waited all the day.

6 R emember, O Lord, Your compassion and Your lovingkindnesses, For they have been from of old.

Remember Thy mercies, O Jehovah, And Thy kindnesses, for from the age they.

7 D o not remember the sins of my youth or my transgressions; According to Your lovingkindness remember me, For Your goodness’ sake, O Lord.

Sins of my youth, and my transgressions, Do not Thou remember. According to Thy kindness be mindful of me, For Thy goodness' sake, O Jehovah.

8 G ood and upright is the Lord; Therefore He instructs sinners in the way.

Good and upright Jehovah, Therefore He directeth sinners in the way.

9 H e leads the humble in justice, And He teaches the humble His way.

He causeth the humble to tread in judgment, And teacheth the humble His way.

10 A ll the paths of the Lord are lovingkindness and truth To those who keep His covenant and His testimonies.

All the paths of Jehovah kindness and truth, To those keeping His covenant, And His testimonies.

11 F or Your name’s sake, O Lord, Pardon my iniquity, for it is great.

For Thy name's sake, O Jehovah, Thou hast pardoned mine iniquity, for it great.

12 W ho is the man who fears the Lord ? He will instruct him in the way he should choose.

Who this -- the man fearing Jehovah? He directeth him in the way He doth choose.

13 H is soul will abide in prosperity, And his descendants will inherit the land.

His soul in good doth remain, And his seed doth possess the land.

14 T he secret of the Lord is for those who fear Him, And He will make them know His covenant.

The secret of Jehovah for those fearing Him, And His covenant -- to cause them to know.

15 M y eyes are continually toward the Lord, For He will pluck my feet out of the net.

Mine eyes continually unto Jehovah, For He bringeth out from a net my feet.

16 T urn to me and be gracious to me, For I am lonely and afflicted.

Turn Thou unto me, and favour me, For lonely and afflicted I.

17 T he troubles of my heart are enlarged; Bring me out of my distresses.

The distresses of my heart have enlarged themselves, From my distresses bring me out.

18 L ook upon my affliction and my trouble, And forgive all my sins.

See mine affliction and my misery, And bear with all my sins.

19 L ook upon my enemies, for they are many, And they hate me with violent hatred.

See my enemies, for they have been many, And with violent hatred they have hated me.

20 G uard my soul and deliver me; Do not let me be ashamed, for I take refuge in You.

Keep my soul, and deliver me, Let me not be ashamed, for I trusted in Thee.

21 L et integrity and uprightness preserve me, For I wait for You.

Integrity and uprightness do keep me, For I have waited Thee.

22 R edeem Israel, O God, Out of all his troubles.

Redeem Israel, O God, from all his distresses!
