1 N ow Abraham took another wife, whose name was Keturah.
And Abraham addeth and taketh a wife, and her name Keturah;
2 S he bore to him Zimran and Jokshan and Medan and Midian and Ishbak and Shuah.
and she beareth to him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.
3 J okshan became the father of Sheba and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim and Letushim and Leummim.
And Jokshan hath begotten Sheba and Dedan; and the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim;
4 T he sons of Midian were Ephah and Epher and Hanoch and Abida and Eldaah. All these were the sons of Keturah.
and the sons of Midian Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abidah, and Eldaah: all these sons of Keturah.
5 N ow Abraham gave all that he had to Isaac;
And Abraham giveth all that he hath to Isaac;
6 b ut to the sons of his concubines, Abraham gave gifts while he was still living, and sent them away from his son Isaac eastward, to the land of the east.
and to the sons of the concubines whom Abraham hath, Abraham hath given gifts, and sendeth them away from Isaac his son (in his being yet alive) eastward, unto the east country.
7 T hese are all the years of Abraham’s life that he lived, one hundred and seventy-five years.
And these the days of the years of the life of Abraham, which he lived, a hundred and seventy and five years;
8 A braham breathed his last and died in a ripe old age, an old man and satisfied with life; and he was gathered to his people.
and Abraham expireth, and dieth in a good old age, aged and satisfied, and is gathered unto his people.
9 T hen his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, facing Mamre,
And Isaac and Ishmael his sons bury him at the cave of Machpelah, at the field of Ephron, son of Zoar the Hittite, which before Mamre --
10 t he field which Abraham purchased from the sons of Heth; there Abraham was buried with Sarah his wife.
the field which Abraham bought from the sons of Heth -- there hath Abraham been buried, and Sarah his wife.
11 I t came about after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac; and Isaac lived by Beer-lahai-roi. Descendants of Ishmael
And it cometh to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blesseth Isaac his son; and Isaac dwelleth by the Well of the Living One, my Beholder.
12 N ow these are the records of the generations of Ishmael, Abraham’s son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah’s maid, bore to Abraham;
And these births of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's handmaid, hath borne to Abraham;
13 a nd these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, in the order of their birth: Nebaioth, the firstborn of Ishmael, and Kedar and Adbeel and Mibsam
and these the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their births: first-born of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,
14 a nd Mishma and Dumah and Massa,

15 H adad and Tema, Jetur, Naphish and Kedemah.
Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah:
16 T hese are the sons of Ishmael and these are their names, by their villages, and by their camps; twelve princes according to their tribes.

17 T hese are the years of the life of Ishmael, one hundred and thirty-seven years; and he breathed his last and died, and was gathered to his people.
And these the years of the life of Ishmael, a hundred and thirty and seven years; and he expireth, and dieth, and is gathered unto his people;
18 T hey settled from Havilah to Shur which is east of Egypt as one goes toward Assyria; he settled in defiance of all his relatives. Isaac’s Sons
and they tabernacle from Havilah unto Shur, which before Egypt, in going towards Asshur; in the presence of all his brethren hath he fallen.
19 N ow these are the records of the generations of Isaac, Abraham’s son: Abraham became the father of Isaac;
And these births of Isaac, Abraham's son: Abraham hath begotten Isaac;
20 a nd Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah, the daughter of Bethuel the Aramean of Paddan-aram, the sister of Laban the Aramean, to be his wife.
and Isaac is a son of forty years in his taking Rebekah, daughter of Bethuel the Aramaean, from Padan-Aram, sister of Laban the Aramaean, to him for a wife.
21 I saac prayed to the Lord on behalf of his wife, because she was barren; and the Lord answered him and Rebekah his wife conceived.
And Isaac maketh entreaty to Jehovah before his wife, for she barren: and Jehovah is entreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceiveth,
22 B ut the children struggled together within her; and she said, “If it is so, why then am I this way ?” So she went to inquire of the Lord.
and the children struggle together within her, and she saith, `If right -- why I thus?' and she goeth to seek Jehovah.
23 T he Lord said to her, “ Two nations are in your womb; And two peoples will be separated from your body; And one people shall be stronger than the other; And the older shall serve the younger.”
And Jehovah saith to her, `Two nations in thy womb, and two peoples from thy bowels are parted; and the people than the people is stronger; and the elder doth serve the younger.'
24 W hen her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.
And her days to bear are fulfilled, and lo, twins in her womb;
25 N ow the first came forth red, all over like a hairy garment; and they named him Esau.
and the first cometh out all red as a hairy robe, and they call his name Esau;
26 A fterward his brother came forth with his hand holding on to Esau’s heel, so his name was called Jacob; and Isaac was sixty years old when she gave birth to them.
and afterwards hath his brother come out, and his hand is taking hold on Esau's heel, and one calleth his name Jacob; and Isaac a son of sixty years in her bearing them.
27 W hen the boys grew up, Esau became a skillful hunter, a man of the field, but Jacob was a peaceful man, living in tents.
And the youths grew, and Esau is a man acquainted hunting, a man of the field; and Jacob a plain man, inhabiting tents;
28 N ow Isaac loved Esau, because he had a taste for game, but Rebekah loved Jacob.
and Isaac loveth Esau, for hunting in his mouth; and Rebekah is loving Jacob.
29 W hen Jacob had cooked stew, Esau came in from the field and he was famished;
And Jacob boileth pottage, and Esau cometh in from the field, and he weary;
30 a nd Esau said to Jacob, “Please let me have a swallow of that red stuff there, for I am famished.” Therefore his name was called Edom.
and Esau saith unto Jacob, `Let me eat, I pray thee, some of this red red thing, for I weary;' therefore hath called his name Edom;
31 B ut Jacob said, “ First sell me your birthright.”
and Jacob saith, `Sell to-day thy birthright to me.'
32 E sau said, “Behold, I am about to die; so of what use then is the birthright to me?”
And Esau saith, `Lo, I am going to die, and what is this to me -- birthright?'
33 A nd Jacob said, “ First swear to me”; so he swore to him, and sold his birthright to Jacob.
and Jacob saith, `Swear to me to-day:' and he sweareth to him, and selleth his birthright to Jacob;
34 T hen Jacob gave Esau bread and lentil stew; and he ate and drank, and rose and went on his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright.
and Jacob hath given to Esau bread and pottage of lentiles, and he eateth, and drinketh, and riseth, and goeth; and Esau despiseth the birthright.
