1 W hen the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spices, so that they might come and anoint Him.
And the sabbath having past, Mary the Magdalene, and Mary of James, and Salome, bought spices, that having come, they may anoint him,
2 V ery early on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen.
and early in the morning of the first of the sabbaths, they come unto the sepulchre, at the rising of the sun,
3 T hey were saying to one another, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?”
and they said among themselves, `Who shall roll away for us the stone out of the door of the sepulchre?'
4 L ooking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away, although it was extremely large.
And having looked, they see that the stone hath been rolled away -- for it was very great,
5 E ntering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting at the right, wearing a white robe; and they were amazed.
and having entered into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right hand, arrayed in a long white robe, and they were amazed.
6 A nd he said to them, “ Do not be amazed; you are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who has been crucified. He has risen; He is not here; behold, here is the place where they laid Him.
And he saith to them, `Be not amazed, ye seek Jesus the Nazarene, the crucified: he did rise -- he is not here; lo, the place where they laid him!
7 B ut go, tell His disciples and Peter, ‘ He is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see Him, just as He told you.’”
and go, say to his disciples, and Peter, that he doth go before you to Galilee; there ye shall see him, as he said to you.'
8 T hey went out and fled from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment had gripped them; and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.
And, having come forth quickly, they fled from the sepulchre, and trembling and amazement had seized them, and to no one said they anything, for they were afraid.
9 ' > Now after He had risen early on the first day of the week, He first appeared to Mary Magdalene, from whom He had cast out seven demons.
And he, having risen in the morning of the first of the sabbaths, did appear first to Mary the Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven demons;
10 S he went and reported to those who had been with Him, while they were mourning and weeping.
she having gone, told those who had been with him, mourning and weeping;
11 W hen they heard that He was alive and had been seen by her, they refused to believe it.
and they, having heard that he is alive, and was seen by her, did not believe.
12 A fter that, He appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking along on their way to the country.
And after these things, to two of them, as they are going into a field, walking, he was manifested in another form,
13 T hey went away and reported it to the others, but they did not believe them either. The Disciples Commissioned
and they having gone, told to the rest; not even them did they believe.
14 A fterward He appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at the table; and He reproached them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who had seen Him after He had risen.
Afterwards, as they are reclining (at meat), he was manifested to the eleven, and did reproach their unbelief and stiffness of heart, because they believed not those having seen him being raised;
15 A nd He said to them, “ Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.
and he said to them, `Having gone to all the world, proclaim the good news to all the creation;
16 H e who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.
he who hath believed, and hath been baptized, shall be saved; and he who hath not believed, shall be condemned.
17 T hese signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues;
`And signs shall accompany those believing these things; in my name demons they shall cast out; with new tongues they shall speak;
18 t hey will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
serpents they shall take up; and if any deadly thing they may drink, it shall not hurt them; on the ailing they shall lay hands, and they shall be well.'
19 S o then, when the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.
The Lord, then, indeed, after speaking to them, was received up to the heaven, and sat on the right hand of God;
20 A nd they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them, and confirmed the word by the signs that followed.] '> And they promptly reported all these instructions to Peter and his companions. And after that, Jesus Himself sent out through them from east to west the sacred and imperishable proclamation of eternal salvation. ]
and they, having gone forth, did preach everywhere, the Lord working with, and confirming the word, through the signs following. Amen.
