1 O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever.

5 I called upon the Lord in distress: the Lord answered me, and set me in a large place.
I cried to the Lord in my trouble, and He answered me and put me in a good place.
6 T he Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?
The Lord is with me. I will not be afraid of what man can do to me.
7 T he Lord taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.
The Lord is with me. He is my Helper. I will watch those lose who fight against me.
8 I t is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.
It is better to trust in the Lord than to trust in man.
9 I t is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.
It is better to trust in the Lord than to trust in rulers.
10 A ll nations compassed me about: but in the name of the Lord will I destroy them.
All nations gathered around me. But I cut them off in the name of the Lord.
11 T hey compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about: but in the name of the Lord I will destroy them.
They gathered around me. Yes, they were on every side. But I cut them off in the name of the Lord.
12 T hey compassed me about like bees; they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the Lord I will destroy them.
They were all around me like bees and they died out fast like burning thorns. I will destroy them in the name of the Lord.
13 T hou hast thrust sore at me that I might fall: but the Lord helped me.
You pushed me back so that I was falling, but the Lord helped me.
14 T he Lord is my strength and song, and is become my salvation.
The Lord is my strength and my song. He is the One Who saves me.
15 T he voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the Lord doeth valiantly.
The joy of being saved is being heard in the tents of those who are right and good. The right hand of the Lord does powerful things.
16 T he right hand of the Lord is exalted: the right hand of the Lord doeth valiantly.
The Lord’s right hand is lifted high. The right hand of the Lord does powerful things.
17 I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.
I will not die but live. And I will tell of what the Lord has done.
18 T he Lord hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death.
The Lord has punished me but He has not given me over to death.
19 O pen to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the Lord:
Open to me the gates of what is right and good. I will go through them and give thanks to the Lord.
20 t his gate of the Lord, into which the righteous shall enter.
This is the gate of the Lord. Those who are right with God will pass through it.
21 I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation.
I will give thanks to You, for You have answered me. And You are the One Who saves me.
22 T he stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.
The stone that was put aside by the workmen has become the most important stone in the building.
23 T his is the Lord’s doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.
The Lord has done this. We think it is great!
24 T his is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us be full of joy and be glad in it.
25 S ave now, I beseech thee, O Lord: O Lord, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.
O Lord, we beg You to save us! O Lord, we ask that You let everything go well for us!
26 B lessed be he that cometh in the name of the Lord: we have blessed you out of the house of the Lord.
Great and honored is he who comes in the name of the Lord. We honor you from the house of the Lord.
27 G od is the Lord, which hath shewed us light: bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar.
The Lord is God. He has given us light. Tie the gift with rope to the horns of the altar on this special day.
28 T hou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee.
You are my God and I will give You thanks. You are my God and I will praise You.
29 O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
