1 And he entered again into the synagogue, and there was a man there who had a withered hand.

And he entered again into the synagogue, and there was there a man having the hand withered,

2 A nd they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day, that they might accuse him.

and they were watching him, whether on the sabbaths he will heal him, that they might accuse him.

3 S o he said unto the man who had the withered hand, Stand forth.

And he saith to the man having the hand withered, `Rise up in the midst.'

4 A nd he said unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days or to do evil? to save the person or to kill them? But they were silent.

And he saith to them, `Is it lawful on the sabbaths to do good, or to do evil? life to save, or to kill?' but they were silent.

5 A nd looking round about on them with anger, being grieved for the blindness of their hearts, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out and his hand was restored whole as the other.

And having looked round upon them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their heart, he saith to the man, `Stretch forth thy hand;' and he stretched forth, and his hand was restored whole as the other;

6 A nd as the Pharisees went forth, they took counsel with the Herodians against him, to kill him.

and the Pharisees having gone forth, immediately, with the Herodians, were taking counsel against him how they might destroy him.

7 B ut Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea, and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judaea

And Jesus withdrew with his disciples unto the sea, and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judea,

8 a nd from Jerusalem and from Idumaea and from beyond Jordan. And those who dwell around Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, hearing what great things he did, came unto him.

and from Jerusalem, and from Idumea and beyond the Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon -- a great multitude -- having heard how great things he was doing, came unto him.

9 A nd he spoke to his disciples that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him.

And he said to his disciples that a little boat may wait on him, because of the multitude, that they may not press upon him,

10 F or he had healed many, insomuch that as many as had plagues pressed upon him to touch him.

for he did heal many, so that they threw themselves on him, in order to touch him -- as many as had plagues;

11 A nd the unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him and cried out, saying, Thou art the Son of God.

and the unclean spirits, when they were seeing him, were falling down before him, and were crying, saying -- `Thou art the Son of God;'

12 A nd he straitly charged them that they should not make him known.

and many times he was charging them that they might not make him manifest.

13 And he went up to the mountain and called unto himself whom he would, and they came unto him.

And he goeth up to the mountain, and doth call near whom he willed, and they went away to him;

14 A nd he established twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach

and he appointed twelve, that they may be with him, and that he may send them forth to preach,

15 a nd to have power to heal sicknesses and to cast out devils:

and to have power to heal the sicknesses, and to cast out the demons.

16 S imon, whom he gave the name Peter;

And he put on Simon the name Peter;

17 a nd James the son of Zebedee and John the brother of James, whom he surnamed them Boanerges, which is The sons of thunder;

and James of Zebedee, and John the brother of James, and he put on them names -- Boanerges, that is, `Sons of thunder;'

18 a nd Andrew and Philip and Bartholomew and Matthew and Thomas and James the son of Alphaeus and Thaddaeus and Simon the Canaanite

and Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James of Alpheus, and Thaddeus, and Simon the Cananite,

19 a nd Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him; and they came home.

and Judas Iscariot, who did also deliver him up; and they come into a house.

20 A nd the multitude came together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.

And come together again doth a multitude, so that they are not able even to eat bread;

21 A nd when his friends and family heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him; for they said, He is beside himself.

and his friends having heard, went forth to lay hold on him, for they said that he was beside himself,

22 But the scribes who had come down from Jerusalem said that he had Beelzebub and that by the prince of the devils he cast out devils.

and the scribes who from Jerusalem having come down, said -- `He hath Beelzeboul,' and -- `By the ruler of the demons he doth cast out the demons.'

23 A nd he called them unto him and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?

And, having called them near, in similes he said to them, `How is the Adversary able to cast out the Adversary?

24 I f a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot remain.

and if a kingdom against itself be divided, that kingdom cannot be made to stand;

25 A nd if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot remain.

and if a house against itself be divided, that house cannot be made to stand;

26 A nd if Satan rises up against himself and is divided, he cannot remain, but has an end.

and if the Adversary did rise against himself, and hath been divided, he cannot be made to stand, but hath an end.

27 N o man can enter into a strong man’s house and spoil his goods except he will first bind the strong man, and then he will spoil his house.

`No one is able the vessels of the strong man -- having entered into his house -- to spoil, if first he may not bind the strong man, and then his house he will spoil.

28 V erily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men and whatever blasphemies with which they shall blaspheme,

`Verily I say to you, that all the sins shall be forgiven to the sons of men, and evil speakings with which they might speak evil,

29 b ut whosoever shall blaspheme against the Holy Spirit shall never have forgiveness but is obligated to eternal judgment,

but whoever may speak evil in regard to the Holy Spirit hath not forgiveness -- to the age, but is in danger of age-during judgment;'

30 b ecause they said, He has an unclean spirit.

because they said, `He hath an unclean spirit.'

31 There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him.

Then come do his brethren and mother, and standing without, they sent unto him, calling him,

32 T he multitude was sitting all around him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brothers and sisters seek thee without.

and a multitude was sitting about him, and they said to him, `Lo, thy mother and thy brethren without do seek thee.'

33 A nd he answered them, saying, Who is my mother or my brethren?

And he answered them, saying, `Who is my mother, or my brethren?'

34 A nd looking round about on those who sat about him, he said, Behold my mother and my brethren!

And having looked round in a circle to those sitting about him, he saith, `Lo, my mother and my brethren!

35 F or whosoever doeth the will of God, the same is my brother and my sister and my mother.

for whoever may do the will of God, he is my brother, and my sister, and mother.'
