1 I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will show forth (recount and tell aloud) all Your marvelous works and wonderful deeds!

I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart; I will tell of all Your wonders.

2 I will rejoice in You and be in high spirits; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High!

I will be glad and exult in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.

3 W hen my enemies turned back, they stumbled and perished before You.

When my enemies turn back, They stumble and perish before You.

4 F or You have maintained my right and my cause; You sat on the throne judging righteously.

For You have maintained my just cause; You have sat on the throne judging righteously.

5 Y ou have rebuked the nations, You have destroyed the wicked; You have blotted out their name forever and ever.

6 T he enemy have been cut off and have vanished in everlasting ruins, You have plucked up and overthrown their cities; the very memory of them has perished and vanished.

The enemy has come to an end in perpetual ruins, And You have uprooted the cities; The very memory of them has perished.

7 B ut the Lord shall remain and continue forever; He has prepared and established His throne for judgment.

But the Lord abides forever; He has established His throne for judgment,

8 A nd He will judge the world in righteousness (rightness and equity); He will minister justice to the peoples in uprightness.

And He will judge the world in righteousness; He will execute judgment for the peoples with equity.

9 T he Lord also will be a refuge and a high tower for the oppressed, a refuge and a stronghold in times of trouble (high cost, destitution, and desperation).

The Lord also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, A stronghold in times of trouble;

10 A nd they who know Your name will lean on and confidently put their trust in You, for You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek (inquire of and for) You.

And those who know Your name will put their trust in You, For You, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.

11 S ing praises to the Lord, Who dwells in Zion! Declare among the peoples His doings!

Sing praises to the Lord, who dwells in Zion; Declare among the peoples His deeds.

12 F or He Who avenges the blood remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the afflicted (the poor and the humble).

For He who requires blood remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the afflicted.

13 H ave mercy upon me and be gracious to me, O Lord; consider how I am afflicted by those who hate me, You Who lift me up from the gates of death,

Be gracious to me, O Lord; See my affliction from those who hate me, You who lift me up from the gates of death,

14 T hat I may show forth (recount and tell aloud) all Your praises! In the gates of the Daughter of Zion I will rejoice in Your salvation and Your saving help.

That I may tell of all Your praises, That in the gates of the daughter of Zion I may rejoice in Your salvation.

15 T he nations have sunk down in the pit that they made; in the net which they hid is their own foot caught.

16 T he Lord has made Himself known; He executes judgment; the wicked are snared in the work of their own hands. Higgaion. Selah!

The Lord has made Himself known; He has executed judgment. In the work of his own hands the wicked is snared. Higgaion Selah.

17 T he wicked shall be turned back into Sheol (the place of the departed spirits of the wicked), even all the nations that forget or are forgetful of God.

The wicked will return to Sheol, Even all the nations who forget God.

18 F or the needy shall not always be forgotten, and the expectation and hope of the meek and the poor shall not perish forever.

For the needy will not always be forgotten, Nor the hope of the afflicted perish forever.

19 A rise, O Lord! Let not man prevail; let the nations be judged before You.

Arise, O Lord, do not let man prevail; Let the nations be judged before You.

20 P ut them in fear, O Lord, that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah!

Put them in fear, O Lord; Let the nations know that they are but men. Selah.
