1 列 國 啊 ， 要 近 前 來 聽 ！ 眾 民 哪 ， 要 側 耳 而 聽 ！ 地 和 其 上 所 充 滿 的 ， 世 界 和 其 中 一 切 所 出 的 都 應 當 聽 ！

¶ Come near, ye Gentiles, to hear; and hearken, ye peoples; let the earth hear, and all that is therein, the world and all things that come forth of it.

2 因 為 耶 和 華 向 萬 國 發 忿 恨 ， 向 他 們 的 全 軍 發 烈 怒 ， 將 他 們 滅 盡 ， 交 出 他 們 受 殺 戮 。

For the indignation of the LORD is upon all the Gentiles, and his fury upon the entire army of them; he shall destroy them and deliver them to the slaughter.

3 被 殺 的 必 然 拋 棄 ， 屍 首 臭 氣 上 騰 ； 諸 山 被 他 們 的 血 融 化 。

Their slain shall be cast out, and their stink shall come up out of their carcasses, and the mountains shall be melted with their blood.

4 天 上 的 萬 象 都 要 消 沒 ； 天 被 捲 起 ， 好 像 書 卷 。 其 上 的 萬 象 要 殘 敗 ， 像 葡 萄 樹 的 葉 子 殘 敗 ， 又 像 無 花 果 樹 的 葉 子 殘 敗 一 樣 。

And all the host of heavens shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll; and all their host shall fall down as the leaf falls off from the vine and as the leaf falls from the fig tree.

5 因 為 我 的 刀 在 天 上 已 經 喝 足 ； 這 刀 必 臨 到 以 東 和 我 所 咒 詛 的 民 ， 要 施 行 審 判 。

For in the heavens my sword shall become drunk; behold, it shall come down in judgment upon Idumea or Edom and upon the people of my anathema.

6 耶 和 華 的 刀 滿 了 血 ， 用 脂 油 和 羊 羔 、 公 山 羊 的 血 ， 並 公 綿 羊 腰 子 的 脂 油 滋 潤 的 ； 因 為 耶 和 華 在 波 斯 拉 有 獻 祭 的 事 ， 在 以 東 地 大 行 殺 戮 。

The sword of the LORD is filled with blood; it is made fat with fatness and with the blood of lambs and goats with the fat of the kidneys of rams, for the LORD has a sacrifice in Bozrah and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea.

7 野 牛 、 牛 犢 ， 和 公 牛 要 一 同 下 來 。 他 們 的 地 喝 醉 了 血 ； 他 們 的 塵 土 因 脂 油 肥 潤 。

And the unicorns shall fall with them, and the bulls with the calves; and their land shall become drunk with blood, and their dust shall be greased with fatness.

8 因 耶 和 華 有 報 仇 之 日 ， 為 錫 安 的 爭 辯 有 報 應 之 年 。

For it shall be the day of the LORD’s vengeance and the year of recompenses for the controversy of Zion.

9 以 東 的 河 水 要 變 為 石 油 ， 塵 埃 要 變 為 硫 磺 ； 地 土 成 為 燒 著 的 石 油 ，

¶ And the streams thereof shall be turned into pitch, and the dust thereof into sulphur, and the land thereof shall become burning pitch.

10 晝 夜 總 不 熄 滅 ， 煙 氣 永 遠 上 騰 ， 必 世 世 代 代 成 為 荒 廢 ， 永 永 遠 遠 無 人 經 過 。

It shall not be quenched night nor day; its smoke shall go up for ever; from generation to generation it shall lie waste; no one shall pass through it for ever and ever.

11 鵜 鶘 、 箭 豬 卻 要 得 為 業 ； 貓 頭 鷹 、 烏 鴉 要 住 在 其 間 。 耶 和 華 必 將 空 虛 的 準 繩 ， 混 沌 的 線 鉈 ， 拉 在 其 上 。

But the cormorant and the bittern shall possess it; the owl also and the raven shall dwell in it; and he shall stretch out upon it the line of confusion and the level of desolation.

12 以 東 人 要 召 貴 冑 來 治 國 ； 那 裡 卻 無 一 個 ， 首 領 也 都 歸 於 無 有 。

They shall call the princes thereof, princes without a kingdom; and all her great ones shall be nothing.

13 以 東 的 宮 殿 要 長 荊 棘 ； 保 障 要 長 蒺 藜 和 刺 草 ； 要 作 野 狗 的 住 處 ， 鴕 鳥 的 居 所 。

And thorns shall come up in her palaces, nettles and brambles in the fortresses thereof; and it shall be a habitation of dragons and a court for young owls.

14 曠 野 的 走 獸 要 和 豺 狼 相 遇 ； 野 山 羊 要 與 伴 偶 對 叫 。 夜 間 的 怪 物 必 在 那 裡 棲 身 ， 自 找 安 歇 之 處 。

The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the wild beasts of the island, and the satyr shall cry to his fellow; the screech owl shall have his seat there and find for himself a place of rest.

15 箭 蛇 要 在 那 裡 做 窩 ， 下 蛋 ， 菢 蛋 ， 生 子 ， 聚 子 在 其 影 下 ； 鷂 鷹 各 與 伴 偶 聚 集 在 那 裡 。

There shall the great owl make his nest and conserve his eggs and hatch his young and gather them under his wings; there shall the vultures also be gathered, each one with his mate.

16 你 們 要 查 考 宣 讀 耶 和 華 的 書 。 這 都 無 一 缺 少 ， 無 一 沒 有 伴 偶 ； 因 為 我 的 口 已 經 吩 咐 ， 他 的 靈 將 他 們 聚 集 。

Seek ye out that which is written in the book of the LORD and read; if one of these is lacking, none is missing with his mate, for his mouth has commanded it, and his same Spirit has gathered them.

17 他 也 為 他 們 拈 鬮 ， 又 親 手 用 準 繩 給 他 們 分 地 ； 他 們 必 永 得 為 業 ， 世 世 代 代 住 在 其 間 。

And he has cast the lot for them, and his hand has divided it unto them by line; therefore they shall have it as an inheritance for ever; from generation to generation they shall dwell therein.
