1 O God thou hast cast us off, thou hast broken us down; Thou hast been angry; oh restore us again.

O God, You have rejected us. You have broken us; You have been angry; O, restore us.

2 T hou hast made the land to tremble; thou hast rent it: Heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.

You have made the land quake, You have split it open; Heal its breaches, for it totters.

3 T hou hast showed thy people hard things: Thou hast made us to drink the wine of staggering.

You have made Your people experience hardship; You have given us wine to drink that makes us stagger.

4 T hou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, That it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah

You have given a banner to those who fear You, That it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.

5 T hat thy beloved may be delivered, Save with thy right hand, and answer us.

That Your beloved may be delivered, Save with Your right hand, and answer us!

6 G od hath spoken in his holiness: I will exult; I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.

God has spoken in His holiness: “I will exult, I will portion out Shechem and measure out the valley of Succoth.

7 G ilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the defence of my head; Judah is my sceptre.

“ Gilead is Mine, and Manasseh is Mine; Ephraim also is the helmet of My head; Judah is My scepter.

8 M oab is my washpot; Upon Edom will I cast my shoe: Philistia, shout thou because of me.

“ Moab is My washbowl; Over Edom I shall throw My shoe; Shout loud, O Philistia, because of Me!”

9 W ho will bring me into the strong city? Who hath led me unto Edom?

Who will bring me into the besieged city? Who will lead me to Edom?

10 H ast not thou, O God, cast us off? And thou goest not forth, O God, with our hosts.

Have not You Yourself, O God, rejected us? And will You not go forth with our armies, O God?

11 G ive us help against the adversary; For vain is the help of man.

O give us help against the adversary, For deliverance by man is in vain.

12 T hrough God we shall do valiantly; For he it is that will tread down our adversaries.

Through God we shall do valiantly, And it is He who will tread down our adversaries.
