1 T he Lord hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee;

May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble! May the name of the God of Jacob set you up on high;

2 s end thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion;

Send you help from the sanctuary and support, refresh, and strengthen you from Zion;

3 r emember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah.

Remember all your offerings and accept your burnt sacrifice. Selah!

4 G rant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.

May He grant you according to your heart’s desire and fulfill all your plans.

5 W e will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.

We will triumph at your salvation and victory, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners. May the Lord fulfill all your petitions.

6 N ow know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.

Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand.

7 S ome trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

Some trust in and boast of chariots and some of horses, but we will trust in and boast of the name of the Lord our God.

8 T hey are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.

They are bowed down and fallen, but we are risen and stand upright.

9 S ave, Lord: let the king hear us when we call.

O Lord, give victory; let the King answer us when we call.
