1 W hy do you boast in evil, O mighty man? The lovingkindness of God endures all day long.

Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? The lovingkindness of God endureth continually.

2 Y our tongue devises destruction, Like a sharp razor, O worker of deceit.

Thy tongue deviseth very wickedness, Like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

3 Y ou love evil more than good, Falsehood more than speaking what is right. Selah.

Thou lovest evil more than good, And lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah

4 Y ou love all words that devour, O deceitful tongue.

Thou lovest all devouring words, thou deceitful tongue.

5 B ut God will break you down forever; He will snatch you up and tear you away from your tent, And uproot you from the land of the living. Selah.

God will likewise destroy thee for ever; He will take thee up, and pluck thee out of thy tent, And root thee out of the land of the living. Selah

6 T he righteous will see and fear, And will laugh at him, saying,

The righteous also shall see it, and fear, And shall laugh at him, saying,

7 Behold, the man who would not make God his refuge, But trusted in the abundance of his riches And was strong in his evil desire.”

Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength, But trusted in the abundance of his riches, And strengthened himself in his wickedness.

8 B ut as for me, I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the lovingkindness of God forever and ever.

But as for me, I am like a green olive-tree in the house of God: I trust in the lovingkindness of God for ever and ever.

9 I will give You thanks forever, because You have done it, And I will wait on Your name, for it is good, in the presence of Your godly ones.

I will give thee thanks for ever, because thou hast done it; And I will hope in thy name, for it is good, in the presence of thy saints.
