1 H ear the right, O Lord, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips.

¶ Hear righteousness, O LORD, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that does not go out of feigned lips.

2 L et my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thine eyes behold the things that are equal.

Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thine eyes behold uprightness.

3 T hou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.

Thou hast proved my heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast refined me and hast found no iniquity; that which I thought did not pass through my mouth.

4 C oncerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer.

Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have observed the ways of the violent.

5 H old up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.

Sustain my steps in thy ways that my footsteps not slip.

6 I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech.

I have called upon thee, because thou dost hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me and hear my speech.

7 S hew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them.

Show thy mercy to be marvellous, O Saviour of those who put their trust in thee, from those that rise up against thy right hand.

8 K eep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,

¶ Keep me as the apple of the eye; hide me with the shadow of thy wings,

9 F rom the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about.

from the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about.

10 T hey are inclosed in their own fat: with their mouth they speak proudly.

They are closed in with their own fat; with their mouth they speak proudly.

11 T hey have now compassed us in our steps: they have set their eyes bowing down to the earth;

They have now compassed us in our steps: they have set their eyes upon throwing us down to the earth

12 L ike as a lion that is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.

like as a lion that is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.

13 A rise, O Lord, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, which is thy sword:

Arise, O LORD, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, with thy sword;

14 F rom men which are thy hand, O Lord, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes.

from men, with thy hand, O LORD, from men of the world, who have their portion in this life and whose belly thou dost fill with thy provision: they satisfy their sons and leave the rest to their family.

15 A s for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.

As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake with thy likeness.
