1 A Jehová clamé estando en angustia, Y él me respondió.

In my distress I cried unto the Lord, and he heard me.

2 L ibra mi alma, oh Jehová, del labio mentiroso, Y de la lengua fraudulenta.

Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue.

3 ¿ Qué te dará, o qué te aprovechará, Oh lengua engañosa?

What shall be given unto thee? or what shall be done unto thee, thou false tongue?

4 A gudas saetas de valiente, Con brasas de enebro.

Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.

5 A y de mí, que moro en Mesec, Y habito entre las tiendas de Cedar!

Woe is me, that I sojourn in Mesech, that I dwell in the tents of Kedar!

6 M ucho tiempo ha morado mi alma Con los que aborrecen la paz.

My soul hath long dwelt with him that hateth peace.

7 Y o soy pacífico; Mas ellos, así que hablo, me hacen guerra.

I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war.
