John 17 ~ John 17

1 Jesus spoke these words and lifted up his eyes to heaven and said, Father, the hour is come; clarify thy Son, that thy Son may also clarify thee,

These things spake Jesus; and lifting up his eyes to heaven, he said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that the son may glorify thee:

2 a s thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

even as thou gavest him authority over all flesh, that to all whom thou hast given him, he should give eternal life.

3 A nd this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

And this is life eternal, that they should know thee the only true God, and him whom thou didst send, even Jesus Christ.

4 I have clarified thee on the earth; I have finished the work which thou didst give me to do.

I glorified thee on the earth, having accomplished the work which thou hast given me to do.

5 A nd now, O Father, clarify thou me with thine own self with that clarity which I had with thee before the world was.

And now, Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou didst give me out of the world; thine they were, and thou didst give them me; and they have kept thy word.

I manifested thy name unto the men whom thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them to me; and they have kept thy word.

7 N ow they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.

Now they know that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are from thee:

8 F or I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

for the words which thou gavest me I have given unto them; and they received them, and knew of a truth that I came forth from thee, and they believed that thou didst send me.

9 I pray for them; I do not pray for the world, but for those whom thou hast given me; for they are thine.

I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for those whom thou hast given me; for they are thine:

10 A nd all my things are thine, and thine are mine; and I have been clarified in them.

and all things that are mine are thine, and thine are mine: and I am glorified in them.

11 And now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, those whom thou hast given me, keep them in thy name, that they may be one, as we are.

And I am no more in the world, and these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep them in thy name which thou hast given me, that they may be one, even as we are.

12 W hile I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name; those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition, that the scripture might be fulfilled.

While I was with them, I kept them in thy name which thou hast given me: and I guarded them, and not one of them perished, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

13 A nd now I come to thee; and these things I speak in the world that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

But now I come to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy made full in themselves.

14 I have given them thy word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

I have given them thy word; and the world hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

15 I do not pray that thou should take them out of the world, but that thou should keep them from the evil.

I pray not that thou shouldest take them from the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil one.

16 T hey are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

They are not of the world even as I am not of the world.

17 Sanctify them in thy truth; thy word is the truth.

Sanctify them in the truth: thy word is truth.

18 A s thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.

As thou didst send me into the world, even so sent I them into the world.

19 A nd for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified in the truth.

And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth.

20 Neither do I pray for these alone, but also for those who shall believe in me through their word;

Neither for these only do I pray, but for them also that believe on me through their word;

21 t hat they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us, that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

that they may all be one; even as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be in us: that the world may believe that thou didst send me.

22 A nd the clarity which thou gavest me I have given them, that they may be one, even as we are one:

And the glory which thou hast given me I have given unto them; that they may be one, even as we are one;

23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be perfect in one and that the world may know that thou hast sent me and hast loved them as thou hast loved me.

I in them, and thou in me, that they may be perfected into one; that the world may know that thou didst send me, and lovedst them, even as thou lovedst me.

24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am, that they may behold my clarity, which thou hast given me, for thou hast loved me from before the foundation of the world.

Father, I desire that they also whom thou hast given me be with me where I am, that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

25 O righteous Father, the world has not known thee; but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.

O righteous Father, the world knew thee not, but I knew thee; and these knew that thou didst send me;

26 A nd I have manifested unto them thy name and will manifest it still, that the love with which thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

and I made known unto them thy name, and will make it known; that the love wherewith thou lovedst me may be in them, and I in them.
