1 N ow Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour (three o’clock in the afternoon),
Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.
2 a certain man crippled from his birth was being carried along, who was laid each day at that gate of the temple called Beautiful, so that he might beg for charitable gifts from those who entered the temple.
And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;
3 S o when he saw Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked them to give him a gift.
Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.
4 A nd Peter directed his gaze intently at him, and so did John, and said, Look at us!
And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.
5 A nd paid attention to them, expecting that he was going to get something from them.
And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.
6 B ut Peter said, Silver and gold (money) I do not have; but what I do have, that I give to you: in '> use of] the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk!
Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
7 T hen he took hold of the man’s right hand with a firm grip and raised him up. And at once his feet and ankle bones became strong and steady,
And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
8 A nd leaping forth he stood and began to walk, and he went into the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God.
And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
9 A nd all the people saw him walking about and praising God,
And all the people saw him walking and praising God:
10 A nd they recognized him as the man who usually sat for alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement (bewilderment, consternation) over what had occurred to him.
And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.
11 N ow while he firmly clung to Peter and John, all the people in utmost amazement ran together and crowded around them in the covered porch (walk) called Solomon’s.
And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering.
12 A nd Peter, seeing it, answered the people, You men of Israel, why are you so surprised and wondering at this? Why do you keep staring at us, as though by our power or piety we had made this man to walk?
And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?
13 T he God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob, the God of our forefathers, has glorified His Servant and Son Jesus, Whom you indeed delivered up and denied and rejected and disowned in the presence of Pilate, when he had determined to let Him go.
The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.
14 B ut you denied and rejected and disowned the Pure and Holy, the Just and Blameless One, and demanded a murderer to be granted to you.
But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;
15 B ut you killed the very Source (the Author) of life, Whom God raised from the dead. To this we are witnesses.
And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.
16 A nd His name, through and by faith in His name, has made this man whom you see and recognize well and strong. the faith which is through and by Him has given the man this perfect soundness before all of you.
And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
17 A nd now, brethren, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did your rulers also.
And now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance ye did it, as did also your rulers.
18 T hus has God fulfilled what He foretold by the mouth of all the prophets, that His Christ (the Messiah) should undergo ill treatment and be afflicted and suffer.
But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.
19 S o repent (change your mind and purpose); turn around and return, that your sins may be erased (blotted out, wiped clean), that times of refreshing (of recovering from the effects of heat, of reviving with fresh air) may come from the presence of the Lord;
Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.
20 A nd that He may send the Christ (the Messiah), Who before was designated and appointed for you—even Jesus,
And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:
21 W hom heaven must receive until the time for the complete restoration of all that God spoke by the mouth of all His holy prophets for ages past.
Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.
22 T hus Moses said to the forefathers, The Lord God will raise up for you a Prophet from among your brethren as me; Him you shall listen to and understand by hearing and heed in all things whatever He tells you.
For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
23 A nd it shall be that every soul that does not listen to and understand by hearing and heed that Prophet shall be utterly exterminated from among the people.
And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.
24 I ndeed, all the prophets from Samuel and those who came afterwards, as many as have spoken, also promised and foretold and proclaimed these days.
Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.
25 Y ou are the descendants (sons) of the prophets and the heirs of the covenant which God made and gave to your forefathers, saying to Abraham, And in your Seed (Heir) shall all the families of the earth be blessed and benefited.
Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.
26 I t was to you first that God sent His Servant and Son Jesus, when He raised Him up '> provided and gave Him for us], to bless you in turning every one of you from your wickedness and evil ways.
Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.
