1 ه َذِهِ هِيَ فِرَقُ أبْناءِ هارُونَ. أبْناءُ هارُونَ: نادابُ وَأبِيهُو وَألِعازَرُ وَإيثامارُ.

These were the divisions of the sons of Aaron. The sons of Aaron: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

2 و َقَدْ ماتَ نادابُ وَأبِيهُو قَبلَ وَالِدِهِما، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُما أبْناءٌ، فَخَدَمَ ألِعازارُ وَإيثامارُ كَكَهَنَةٍ.

But Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and had no children: therefore Eleazar and Ithamar executed the priest’s office.

3 و َقَسَّمَهُمْ داوُدُ، وَصادُوقُ مِنْ أبْناءِ ألِعازارَ، وَأخِيمالِكُ مِنْ أبْناءِ إيثامارَ، حَسَبَ المَهامِّ المُوكَلَةِ إلَيْهِمْ فِي الخِدْمَةِ.

David with Zadok of the sons of Eleazar and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, divided them according to their ordering in their service.

4 غ َيرَ أنَّهُ تَبَيَّنَ أنَّ أبْناءَ ألِعازارَ أكبَرُ عَدَداً مِنْ حَيثُ الذُّكُورِ مِنْ أبْناءِ إيثامارَ، فَكانَ هُناكَ سِتَّةَ عَشَرَ رَئِيسَ عائِلَةٍ لِأبْناءِ ألِعازارَ، وَثَمانِيَةَ رُؤَساءِ عائِلاتٍ لِأبْناءِ إيثامارَ.

There were more chief men found of the sons of Eleazar than of the sons of Ithamar; and they were divided like this: of the sons of Eleazar there were sixteen, heads of fathers’ houses; and of the sons of Ithamar, according to their fathers’ houses, eight.

5 و َقَدْ عَيَّنُوا فَتَراتِ عَمَلِ رُؤَساءِ عائِلاتِ الجانِبَينِ بِالقُرْعَةِ، لِأنَّ هَؤُلاءِ كانُوا مَسْؤُولِينَ عَنْ المُكانِ المُقَدَّسِ مِنْ أبْناءِ ألِعازارَ وَمِنْ بَينِ أبْناءِ إيثامارَ.

Thus were they divided impartially by drawing lots; for there were princes of the sanctuary, and princes of God, both of the sons of Eleazar, and of the sons of Ithamar.

6 و َقَدْ سَجَّلَهُمُ الكاتِبُ شَمَعْيا بْنُ نَثَنَئِيلَ وَهُوَ لاوِيٌّ، بِحُضُورِ المَلِكِ، وَالقادَةُ وَالرُّؤساءُ، وَصادُوقَ الكاهِنِ، وَأخِيمَالِكَ بِنَ أبِياثارَ، وَرُؤُوسِ عائِلاتِ الكَهَنَةِ وَالَّلاوِيِّينَ. فَأُخِذَتْ عائِلَةٌ لألِعازارَ، ثُمَّ عائِلَةٌ لإيثامارَ، بِالتَّناوُبِ.

Shemaiah the son of Nethanel the scribe, who was of the Levites, wrote them in the presence of the king, the princes, Zadok the priest, Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, and the heads of the fathers’ households of the priests and of the Levites; one fathers’ house being taken for Eleazar, and one taken for Ithamar.

7 و َقَعَتِ القُرْعَةُ الأُولَى عَلَى يَهُويارِيبَ، وَالثّانِيَةُ عَلَى يَدْعِيا،

Now the first lot came out to Jehoiarib, the second to Jedaiah,

8 و َالثّالِثَةُ عَلَى حارِيمَ، وَالرّابِعَةُ عَلَى سَعُورِيمَ،

the third to Harim, the fourth to Seorim,

9 و َالخامِسَةُ عَلَى مَلْكِيّا، وَالسّادِسَةُ عَلَى مَيّامِينَ،

the fifth to Malchijah, the sixth to Mijamin,

10 و َالسّابِعَةُ عَلَى هَقُّوصَ، وَالثّامِنَةُ عَلَى أبِيّا،

the seventh to Hakkoz, the eighth to Abijah,

11 و َالتّاسِعَةُ عَلَى يَشُوعَ، وَالعاشِرَةُ عَلَى شَكُنْيا،

the ninth to Jeshua, the tenth to Shecaniah,

12 و َالحادِيَةَ عَشْرَةَ عَلَى ألِياشِيبَ، وَالثّانِيَةَ عَشْرَةَ عَلَى ياقِيمَ،

the eleventh to Eliashib, the twelfth to Jakim,

13 و َالثّالِثَةَ عَشْرَةَ عَلَى حُفَّةَ، وَالرّابِعَةَ عَشْرَةَ عَلَى يَشَبآبَ،

the thirteenth to Huppah, the fourteenth to Jeshebeab,

14 و َالخامِسَةَ عَشْرَةَ عَلَى بِلْجَةَ، وَالسّادِسَةَ عَشْرَةَ عَلَى إيمِيرَ،

the fifteenth to Bilgah, the sixteenth to Immer,

15 و َالسّابِعَةَ عَشْرَةَ عَلَى حِيزِيرَ، وَالثّامِنَةَ عَشْرَةَ عَلَى هَفْصِيصَ،

the seventeenth to Hezir, the eighteenth to Happizzez,

16 و َالتّاسِعَةَ عَشْرَةَ عَلَى فَقَحْيا، وَالعِشْرُونَ عَلَى يَحَزْقِيئِيلَ،

the nineteenth to Pethahiah, the twentieth to Jehezkel,

17 و َالحادِيَةُ وَالعِشْرُونَ عَلَى ياكِينَ، وَالثّانِيَةُ وَالعِشْرُونَ عَلَى جامُولَ،

the twenty-first to Jachin, the twenty-second to Gamul,

18 و َالثّالِثَةُ وَالعِشْرُونَ عَلَى دَلايا، وَالرّابِعَةُ وَالعِشْرُونَ عَلَى مَعَزْيا.

the twenty-third to Delaiah, and the twenty-fourth to Maaziah.

19 ك انَتْ هَذهِ مَجمُوعاتُ الكَهَنةِ المُوكَلِينَ بِدُّخُولِ بَيتِ اللهِ وَفْقَ الأنظِمَةِ الَّتِي أمَرَ اللهُ ، إلَهُ إسْرائِيلَ، هارُونَ بِها. بَقِيَّةُ أبْناءِ لاوِي

This was their ordering in their service, to come into Yahweh’s house according to the ordinance given to them by Aaron their father, as Yahweh, the God of Israel, had commanded him.

20 أ مّا بِالنِّسْبَةِ لِبَقِيَّةِ الَّلاوِيِّينَ: فَمِنْ أبْناءِ عِمْرامَ شُوبائِيلُ، وَمِنْ أبْناءِ شُوبائِيلَ يَحَدْيا.

Of the rest of the sons of Levi: of the sons of Amram, Shubael; of the sons of Shubael, Jehdeiah.

21 و َمِنْ أبْناءِ رَحِبْيا يَشِيّا البِكرُ.

Of Rehabiah: of the sons of Rehabiah, Isshiah the chief.

22 و َمِنْ أبْناءِ يَصْهارَ شَلُومُوثُ، وَمِنْ أبْناءِ شَلُومُوثَ يَحَثُ.

Of the Izharites, Shelomoth; of the sons of Shelomoth, Jahath.

23 ث ُمَّ أبْناءُ حَبْرُونَ يَرِيّا البِكرُ، وَالثّانِي أمَرْيا، وَالثّالِثُ يَحزِيئِيلُ، وَالرّابِعُ يَقْمَعامُ.

The sons of Hebron: Jeriah, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.

24 و َابْنُ عُزِّيئِيلَ مِيخا. وَمِنْ أبْناءِ مِيخا شامُورُ.

The sons of Uzziel: Micah; of the sons of Micah, Shamir.

25 و َأخُو مِيخا يَشِّيّا. وَمِنْ أبْناءِ يَشِّيّا زَكَرِيّا.

The brother of Micah: Isshiah; of the sons of Isshiah, Zechariah.

26 و َابْنا مَراري مَحلِي ومُوشِي، وَابْنُهُ يَعَزْيا.

The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. The son of Jaaziah: Beno.

27 و َأبناءُ يَعَزْيا بْنِ مَراري هُمْ شُوهَمُ وَزَكُّورُ وَعِبْرِي.

The sons of Merari: of Jaaziah, Beno, Shoham, Zaccur, and Ibri.

28 و َمِنْ أبْناءِ مَحلِي ألِعازارُ الَّذِي لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ أبْناءٌ.

Of Mahli: Eleazar, who had no sons.

29 و َمِنْ أبْناءِ قَيسٍ يَرْحَمْئِيلُ.

Of Kish, the son of Kish: Jerahmeel.

30 و َأبْناءُ مُوشِي هُمْ مَحلِي وَعادِرُ وَيَرِيمُوثُ. هَؤُلاءِ هُمُ الَّلاوِيُّونَ حَسَبَ عائِلاتِهِمْ.

The sons of Mushi: Mahli, Eder, and Jerimoth. These were the sons of the Levites after their fathers’ houses.

31 و َألقَى هَؤُلاءِ أيضاً قُرْعَةً مَعَ أقْرِبائِهِمْ، أبْناءِ هارُونَ، أمامَ المَلِكِ داوُدَ، وَصادُوقَ، وَأخِيمَالِكَ، وَرُؤَساءِ عائِلاتِ الكَهَنَةِ وَالَّلاوِيِّينَ. وَقَدْ ألقَتْ عائِلاتُ الرَّئِيسِ القُرْعَةَ مِثلَ عائِلاتِ الأخِ الأصْغَرِ بِالتَّساوِي.

These likewise cast lots even as their brothers the sons of Aaron in the presence of David the king, Zadok, Ahimelech, and the heads of the fathers’ households of the priests and of the Levites; the fathers’ households of the chief even as those of his younger brother.
