1 ف َاكْتَمَلَ كُلُّ العَمَلِ الَّذِي عَمِلَهُ سُلَيْمانُ مِنْ أجلِ بَيتِ اللهِ. وَأدخَلَ سُلَيْمانُ إلَى الهَيكَلِ كُلَّ الأشياءِ الَّتِي خَصَّصَها داوُدُ لِلهَيكَلِ. وَأدْخَلَ سُلَيْمانُ إلَى الهَيكَلِ كُلَّ الأشياءِ المَصنُوعَةِ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ وَمِنَ الفِضَّةِ وَكُلَّ أثاثِ وَأدَواتِ الهَيكَلِ، وَوَضَعَها فِي مُسْتَودَعاتِ بَيتِ اللهِ. إدخالُ صُنْدُوقِ العَهد إلَى الهَيكَل

Thus all the work that Solomon did for Yahweh’s house was finished. Solomon brought in the things that David his father had dedicated, even the silver, and the gold, and all the vessels, and put them in the treasuries of the house of God.

2 ث ُمَّ اسْتَدْعَى المَلِكُ سُلَيْمانُ كُلَّ شُيُوخِ إسْرائِيلَ وَرُؤَساءَ العَشائِرِ وَقادَةَ عائِلاتِ إسْرائِيلَ فِي مَدِينَةِ القُدْسِ. أرادَهُمْ سُلَيْمانُ أنْ يَنضَمُّوا إلَيهِ فِي إحضارِ صُنْدُوقِ عَهْدِ اللهِ مِنْ مَدِينَةِ داوُد إلَى الهَيكَلِ.

Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the princes of the fathers’ households of the children of Israel, to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of Yahweh’s covenant out of David’s city, which is Zion.

3 ف َجاءَ جَمِيعُ رِجالِ إسْرائِيلَ مَعاً إلَى المَلِكِ سُلَيْمانَ أثناءَ عِيدُ السَّقائِفِ فِي الشَّهْرِ السّابِعِ مِنَ السَّنَةِ.

And all the men of Israel assembled themselves to the king at the feast, which was in the seventh month.

4 ف َلَمّا وَصَلَ كُلُّ شُيُوخِ إسْرائِيلَ إلَى ذَلِكَ المَكانِ، حَمَلَ الَّلاويِّونَ صُنْدُوقَ العَهْدِ.

All the elders of Israel came: and the Levites took up the ark;

5 و َأحْضَرَ الكَهَنَةُ الَّلاوِيُّونَ صُنْدُوقَ العَهْدِ مَعَ خَيمَةِ الاجْتِماعِ وَجَميعِ الأدَواتِ المُقَدَّسَةِ الَّتِي فِيها.

and they brought up the ark, and the Tent of Meeting, and all the holy vessels that were in the Tent; these the priests the Levites brought up.

6 و َاجتَمَعَ المَلِكُ سُلَيْمانُ وَكُلُّ بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ مَعاً أمامَ صُنْدُوقِ العَهْدِ. وَذَبَحُوا خِرافاً وَبَقَراً بِأعدادٍ كَثِيرَةٍ لا تُحصَى.

King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled to him, were before the ark, sacrificing sheep and cattle, that could not be counted nor numbered for multitude.

7 ث ُمَّ وَضَعَ الكَهَنَةُ صُنْدُوقَ عَهْدِ اللهِ فِي مَكانِهِ داخِلَ قُدْسِ الأقداسِ، فِي الهَيكَلِ تَحْتَ أجنِحَةِ المَلاكَيْنِ الكَرُوبَينِ.

The priests brought in the ark of Yahweh’s covenant to its place, into the inner sanctuary of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubim.

8 و َكانَتْ أجنِحَةُ المَلاكَينِ تُظَلِّلُ الصُّنْدُوقَ وَالقُضِيبَينِ اللَّذَينِ يُحمَلُ بِهِما.

For the cherubim spread out their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim covered the ark and its poles above.

9 ك انَ القُضيبانِ طَوِيلانِ جِدّاً، حَتَّى إنَّ الواقِفَ فِي القُدْسِ أمامَ قُدْسِ الأقداسِ يَرَى طَرَفَيهِما، أمّا مَنْ يَقِفُ فِي الخارِجِ فَلا يَراهُما. وَمازالَ قَضيبا الحَملِ هُناكَ حَتَّى هَذا اليَومِ.

The poles were so long that the ends of the poles were seen from the ark before the inner sanctuary; but they were not seen outside: and there it is to this day.

10 و َلَمْ يَكُنْ فِي صُنْدُوقِ العَهْدِ سِوَى اللَّوحَينِ اللَّذَينِ وَضَعَهُما مُوسَى فِيهِ فِي جَبَلِ حُورِيبَ، حَيثُ قَطَعَ اللهُ عَهْداً مَعَ بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ بَعْدَ خُرُوجِهِمْ مِنْ مِصْرَ.

There was nothing in the ark except the two tables which Moses put at Horeb, when Yahweh made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of Egypt.

11 و َطَهَّرَ كُلُّ الكَهَنَةِ الَّذِينَ قامُوا بِالاحتِفالِ أنفُسَهُمْ. وَعِندَما خَرَجُوا مِنَ المَكان المُقَدَّسِ وَقَفُوا مَعاً، فَلَمْ يَتَقَيّدُوا بِتَقسِيماتِ فِرَقِهِمِ الرَّسمِيَّةِ.

When the priests had come out of the holy place, (for all the priests who were present had sanctified themselves, and didn’t keep their divisions;

12 و َوَقَفَ المُرَنِّمُونَ اللّاوِيُّونَ عَلَى الجانِبِ الشَّرقِيِّ مِنَ المَذبَحِ بِقِيادَةِ آسافَ وَهَيْمانَ وَيَدُوثُونَ وَمَعَهُمْ أبناؤهُمْ وَأقرِباؤهُمْ. وَكانَ المُرَنِّمُونَ يَلبَسُونَ أثواباً بَيضاءَ، وَيَحمِلُونَ صُنُوجاً وَرَباباتٍ وَقَياثِيرَ، وَمَعَهُمْ مئَةٌ وَعِشْرُونَ كاهِناً يَنفُخُونَ الأبواقَ.

also the Levites who were the singers, all of them, even Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and their sons and their brothers, arrayed in fine linen, with cymbals and stringed instruments and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them one hundred twenty priests sounding with trumpets;)

13 و َقَدْ بَدا نافِخُو الأبواقِ وَالمُرَنِّمُونَ كَأنَّهُمْ شَخصٌ واحِدٌ، يُسَبِّحُونَ اللهَ وَيَحمَدُونَهُ بِصَوتٍ واحِدٍ. وَرَفَعُوا أصواتَ الأبواقِ وَالصُّنُوجِ وَالآلاتِ المُوسيقِيَّةِ الأُخرَى مُرَنِّمِينَ: «سَبِّحُوا اللهَ لِأنَّهُ صالِحٌ، لأنَّ إلَى الأبَدِ رَحمَتَهُ.» حِينَئِذٍ، امتَلأ الهَيْكَلُ سَحاباً.

when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking Yahweh; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised Yahweh, saying, “For he is good; for his loving kindness endures forever!” then the house was filled with a cloud, even Yahweh’s house,

14 و َلَمْ يَسْتَطِعِ الكَهَنَةُ مُواصَلَةَ خِدمَتِهِمْ لِأنَّ مَجدَ اللهِ مَلأ بَيتِ اللهِ.

so that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for Yahweh’s glory filled God’s house.
