1 و َانتَهَتِ احتِفالاتُ الفِصحِ، فَانطَلَقَ بَنُو إسْرائِيلَ الَّذينَ كانُوا فِي القُدسِ إلَى مُدُنِ يَهُوذا، وَكَسَّرُوا أصنامَ الآلِهَةِ الزّائفَةِ الحَجَرِيَّةِ الَّتِي فِيها. وَهَدَمُوا أعمِدَةَ عَشْتَرُوتَ، وَدَمَّرُوا المُرتَفَعاتِ وَالمَذابِحَ فِي كُلِّ أنحاءِ يَهُوذا وَبَنْيامِيْنَ. وَفَعَلَ الشَّعبُ الأمْرَ نَفسَهُ في مِنطَقَةِ أفْرايِمَ وَمَنَسَّى. وَلَمْ يَتَوَقَّفُوا حَتَّى دَمَّرُوا كُلَّ أغراضِ عبادَةِ الآلِهَةِ الزّائِفَةِ. وَبَعدَ ذَلِكَ رَجِعَ كُلُّ بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ إلَى مُدُنِهِمْ.

Now when all this was finished, all Israel who were present went out to the cities of Judah, and broke in pieces the pillars, and cut down the Asherah poles, and broke down the high places and the altars out of all Judah and Benjamin, in Ephraim also and Manasseh, until they had destroyed them all. Then all the children of Israel returned, every man to his possession, into their own cities.

2 و َكانَ الكَهَنَةُ وَالَّلاويُّونَ مُنقَسِمينَ إلَى فِرَقٍ لِكُلِّ واحِدَةٍ مِنها وَظِيفَتُها الخاصَّةُ. فَطَلَبَ المَلِكُ حَزَقِيّا إلَى هاتَينِ الجَماعَتَينِ أنْ تَستَأْنِفا عَمَلَهُما ثانِيَةً. فَاسْتَأْنَفَ الكَهَنَةُ وَالَّلاويُّونَ تَقدِيمَ الذَّبائِحِ الصّاعِدَةِ وَذَبائِحَ السَّلامِ. وَكانُوا يَقُومُونَ بِوَظِيفَةِ الخِدمَةِ فِي الهَيكَلِ وَالتَّرنِيمِ وَالتَّسبِيحِ عِندَ أبوابِ بَيتِ اللهِ.

Hezekiah appointed the divisions of the priests and the Levites after their divisions, every man according to his service, both the priests and the Levites, for burnt offerings and for peace offerings, to minister, and to give thanks, and to praise in the gates of the camp of Yahweh.

3 و َقَدَّمَ حَزَقِيّا ذَبائحَ مِنْ مَواشِيهِ. فَكانَتِ الذَّبائِحُ تُقَدَّمُ صَباحاً وَمَساءً وَفِي السُّبُوتِ وَاوائِلِ الشُّهُورِ، وَفِي الأعيادِ وَالاحْتِفالاتِ الخاصَّةِ الأُخرَى. وَكانَ يَعمَلُ هَذا كُلَّهُ وَفْقَ ما هُوَ مَكتُوبٌ فِي شَرِيعَةِ اللهِ.

He appointed also the king’s portion of his substance for the burnt offerings, for the morning and evening burnt offerings, and the burnt offerings for the Sabbaths, and for the new moons, and for the set feasts, as it is written in Yahweh’s law.

4 و َأمَرَ حَزَقيّا سُكّانَ القُدْسِ بِأنْ يُعطُوا الحِصَّةَ الشَّرعِيَّةَ الواجِبَةَ عَلَيهِمْ لِلكَهَنَةِ وَاللّاوِيِّينَ، لِيَتَمَكَّنُوا مِنْ تَكرِيسِ وَقتَهُمْ لشَرِيعَةِ اللهِ.

Moreover he commanded the people who lived in Jerusalem to give the portion of the priests and the Levites, that they might give themselves to Yahweh’s law.

5 و َوَصَلَتْ أخبارُ أمرِ المَلِكِ هَذا إلَى الشَّعبِ فِي كُلِّ مَكانٍ مِنَ البَلَدِ. فَأعطَى بَنُو إسْرائِيلَ باكُورَةَ حَصادِهِمْ مِنَ القَمْحِ وَالعِنَبِ وَالزَّيْتِ وَالعَسَلِ وَكُلِّ ما يَنبُتُ فِي حُقُولِهِمْ. فَجَلَبُوا عُشْرَ هَذِهِ المَحاصِيلِ الكَثِيرَةِ.

As soon as the commandment came abroad, the children of Israel gave in abundance the first fruits of grain, new wine, and oil, and honey, and of all the increase of the field; and the tithe of all things brought they in abundantly.

6 و َأحضَرَ أيضاً رِجالُ إسْرائِيلَ وَيَهُوذا السّاكِنُونَ فِي يَهُوذا عُشْرَ بَقَرِهِمْ وَغَنَمِهِمْ. وَوَضَعُوا العُشْرَ المُخَصَّصَ للهِ فِي مَكانٍ خاصٍّ. فَجَلَبُوا كُلَّ هَذِهِ الأشياءَ لإلَهِهِمْ. وَوَضَعُوها أكْواماً أكْواماً.

The children of Israel and Judah, who lived in the cities of Judah, they also brought in the tithe of cattle and sheep, and the tithe of dedicated things which were consecrated to Yahweh their God, and laid them by heaps.

7 ب َدَأ الشَّعبُ يُحضِرُ هَذِهِ الأشياءَ فِي الشَّهرِ الثّالِثِ، وَانتَهُوا مِنْ جَمْعِها فِي الشَّهرِ السّابِعِ.

In the third month they began to lay the foundation of the heaps, and finished them in the seventh month.

8 و َلَمّا جاءَ حَزَقِيّا وَالقادَةُ، رَأَوْا أكوامَ الأشياءِ الَّتِي جُمِعَتْ. فَبارَكُوا اللهَ وَشَعبَهُ، بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ.

When Hezekiah and the princes came and saw the heaps, they blessed Yahweh, and his people Israel.

9 ث ُمَّ استَفْسَرَ حَزَقِيّا مِنَ الكَهَنَةِ وَالَّلاوِيِّينَ عَنْ الأكوامِ.

Then Hezekiah questioned the priests and the Levites concerning the heaps.

10 ف َقالَ عَزَرْيا رَئِيسُ الكَهَنَةِ – وَهُوَ مِنْ بَيْتِ صادُوقَ – لِلمَلِكِ: «مُنْذُ أنْ بَدَأ الشَّعبُ بِإحْضارِ التَّقدِماتِ إلَى بَيتِ اللهِ ، صِرْنا نأكُلُ حَتَّى الشَّبَعِ، وَمازالَ لَدَينا فائِضٌ كَبِيرٌ مِنَ الطَّعامِ. لَقَدْ بارَكَ اللهُ شَعبَهُ حَقّاً. وَلِهَذا لَدَينا فائِضٌ كَثِيرٌ.»

Azariah the chief priest, of the house of Zadok, answered him and said, “Since people began to bring the offerings into Yahweh’s house, we have eaten and had enough, and have left plenty: for Yahweh has blessed his people; and that which is left is this great store.”

11 ف َأمَرَ حَزَقِيّا الكَهَنَةَ بِإعدادِ حُجْراتِ تَخْزِينٍ فِي بَيتِ اللهِ. فَفَعَلُوا.

Then Hezekiah commanded them to prepare rooms in Yahweh’s house; and they prepared them.

12 ث ُمَّ أحضَرَ الكَهَنَةُ التَّقِدِماتِ وَالعُشُورَ وَكُلَّ الأشياءِ الَّتِي خُصِّصَتْ للهِ، وَوَضَعُوها فِي مَخازِنِ الهَيكَلِ. وَكانَ كُونَنْيا الَّلاوِي مَسؤُولاً عَنْها، وَكانَ أخُوهُ شَمْعَى مُساعِداً لَهُ.

They brought in the offerings and the tithes and the dedicated things faithfully: and over them Conaniah the Levite was ruler, and Shimei his brother was second.

13 و َعَمِلَ تَحْتَ إمْرَةِ كُونَنْيا وَأخِيهِ شَمْعَى كُلٌّ مِنْ يَحِيئِيلَ وَعَزَرْيا وَنَحَثَ وَعَسائِيلَ وَيَرِيمُوثَ وَيُوزابادَ وَإيلِيئِيلَ وَيَسْمَخْيَا وَمَحَثَ وَبَنايا. وَقَدِ اخْتارَ المَلِكُ حَزَقِيّا وَعَزَرْيا المَسؤُولُ عَنْ بَيْتِ اللهِ هَؤُلاءِ الرِّجالَ.

Jehiel, and Azaziah, and Nahath, and Asahel, and Jerimoth, and Jozabad, and Eliel, and Ismachiah, and Mahath, and Benaiah, were overseers under the hand of Conaniah and Shimei his brother, by the appointment of Hezekiah the king, and Azariah the ruler of God’s house.

14 و َكانَ قُورِي بْنُ يَمْنَةَ الَّلاوِي هُوَ البَوّابَ المَسؤُولَ عَنِ البَوّابَةِ الشَّرقِيَّةِ. وَأُوكِلَتْ إلَى قُورِي مَهَمَّةُ الإشرافِ عَلَى التَقدِماتِ الاختِيارِيَّةِ للهِ، وَتَوزِيعِ التَّقدِماتِ المُخَصَّصَةِ لِخُدّامِ اللهِ وَالتَّبَرُّعاتِ المُقَدَّسَةِ.

Kore the son of Imnah the Levite, the porter at the east gate, was over the freewill offerings of God, to distribute the offerings of Yahweh, and the most holy things.

15 و َكانَ تَحْتَ إمرَتِهِ عَدَنُ وَمُنْيامِنُ وَيَشُوعُ وَشِمْعِيا وَأمَرْيا وَشَكُنْيا الَّذِينَ ساعَدُوهُ بِأمانَةٍ، فِي المُدُنِ الَّتِي يَسكُنُها الكَهَنَةُ. فَوَزَّعُوا هَذِهِ الأشياءَ عَلَى أقرِبائِهِمْ فِي كُلِّ فِرقَةٍ مِنْ فِرَقِ الكَهَنَةِ بِالتَّساوِي كِباراً وَصِغاراً.

Under him were Eden, and Miniamin, and Jeshua, and Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah, in the cities of the priests, in their office of trust, to give to their brothers by divisions, as well to the great as to the small:

16 و َأَعْطَوْا حِصَّةً لِلذُّكُورِ مِنَ ابنِ ثَلاثِ سَنَواتٍ فَما فَوقُ مِنَ الَّذِينَ سُجِّلَتْ أسماؤُهُمْ فِي سِجِلِّ مَوالِيدِ الَّلاوِيِّينَ. وَكانَ عَلَى كُلِّ هَؤُلاءِ الذُّكُورِ أنْ يَدخُلُوا بَيتَ اللهِ لِلخِدمَةِ اليَومِيَّةِ لِلقِيامِ بِواجِباتِهِمْ. فَكانَ لِكُلِّ فِرقَةٍ مِنَ الَّلاوِيِّينَ مَسؤُولِيَّتُها الخاصَّةُ.

besides those who were listed by genealogy of males, from three years old and upward, even everyone who entered into Yahweh’s house, as the duty of every day required, for their service in their offices according to their divisions;

17 و َأُعطِيَ الكَهَنَةُ حِصَّةً مِنْ هَذِهِ العَطايا، حَسَبَ عائِلاتِهِمْ وَطَرِيقَةِ تَسجِيلهِمْ فِي نَسَبِ المَوالِيدِ. وَأُعطِيَ أيضاً الَّلاوِيُّونَ مِنَ الَّذِينَ بَلَغُوا عِشرِينَ سَنَةً فَما فَوقُ حِصَّةً مِنْ هَذِه العَطايا، حَسَبَ مَسؤُولِيّاتِهمْ وَحَسَبَ فِرَقِهِمْ.

and those who were listed by genealogy of the priests by their fathers’ houses, and the Levites from twenty years old and upward, in their offices by their divisions;

18 و َتَمَّ تَسجِيلُ الكَهَنَةِ مَعَ أطفالِهِمْ وَزَوجاتُهُمْ وَأولادُهُمْ وَبَناتُهُمْ جَميعاً، لأنَّهُمْ كانُوا طاهِرِينَ دائِماً وَمُستَعِدِّينَ لِلخِدمَةِ.

and those who were listed by genealogy of all their little ones, their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, through all the congregation: for in their office of trust they sanctified themselves in holiness.

19 و َكانَ مِنْ نَسلِ هارُونَ بَعضُ الكَهَنَةِ يَسكُنُونَ فِي حُقُولٍ أوْ مُدُنٍ قُرْبَ مُدُنِ الَّلاوِيِّينَ. فَتَمَّ تَحدِيدُ رِجالٍ بِالاسمِ مِنْ كُلِّ مَدِينَةٍ مِنْ هَذِهِ المُدُنِ لِتَوزِيعِ حِصَصِ هَذِهِ العَطايا عَلَى جَمِيعِ الذُّكُورِ مِنْ عائِلاتِ الكَهَنَةِ، وَجَمِيعِ المُسَجَّلَينَ فِي سِجِلِّ أنسابِ اللاويِّينَ.

Also for the sons of Aaron the priests, who were in the fields of the suburbs of their cities, in every city, there were men who were mentioned by name, to give portions to all the males among the priests, and to all who were listed by genealogy among the Levites.

20 و َهَكَذا عَمِلَ المَلِكُ حَزَقِيّا كُلَّ هَذِهِ الأُمُورِ الصّالِحَةِ فِي يَهُوذا. عَمِلَ كُلَّ ما هُوَ صَوابٌ وَكُلُّ ما هُوَ مُرْضٍ لإلَههِ.

Hezekiah did so throughout all Judah; and he worked that which was good and right and faithful before Yahweh his God.

21 و َقَدْ عَمِلَ بِكُلِّ قَلبِهِ كُلِّ ما عَمِلَهُ فِي خِدمَةِ بَيتِ اللهِ، وَفِي طاعَةِ الشَّرِيعَةِ وَالوَصايا، وَفِي اتِّباعِ إلَهِهِ، فَنَجَحَ.

In every work that he began in the service of God’s house, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.
