1 神 對 雅 各 說 ： 起 來 ！ 上 伯 特 利 去 ， 住 在 那 裡 ； 要 在 那 裡 築 一 座 壇 給 神 ， 就 是 你 逃 避 你 哥 哥 以 掃 的 時 候 向 你 顯 現 的 那 位 。

Then God said to Jacob, “Arise, go up to Bethel and dwell there; and make an altar there to God, who appeared to you when you fled from the face of Esau your brother.”

2 雅 各 就 對 他 家 中 的 人 並 一 切 與 他 同 在 的 人 說 ： 你 們 要 除 掉 你 們 中 間 的 外 邦 神 ， 也 要 自 潔 ， 更 換 衣 裳 。

And Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, “Put away the foreign gods that are among you, purify yourselves, and change your garments.

3 我 們 要 起 來 ， 上 伯 特 利 去 ， 在 那 裡 我 要 築 一 座 壇 給 神 ， 就 是 在 我 遭 難 的 日 子 應 允 我 的 禱 告 、 在 我 行 的 路 上 保 佑 我 的 那 位 。

Then let us arise and go up to Bethel; and I will make an altar there to God, who answered me in the day of my distress and has been with me in the way which I have gone.”

4 他 們 就 把 外 邦 人 的 神 像 和 他 們 耳 朵 上 的 環 子 交 給 雅 各 ； 雅 各 都 藏 在 示 劍 那 裡 的 橡 樹 底 下 。

So they gave Jacob all the foreign gods which were in their hands, and the earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the terebinth tree which was by Shechem.

5 他 們 便 起 行 前 往 。 神 使 那 周 圍 城 邑 的 人 都 甚 驚 懼 ， 就 不 追 趕 雅 各 的 眾 子 了 。

And they journeyed, and the terror of God was upon the cities that were all around them, and they did not pursue the sons of Jacob.

6 於 是 雅 各 和 一 切 與 他 同 在 的 人 到 了 迦 南 地 的 路 斯 ， 就 是 伯 特 利 。

So Jacob came to Luz (that is, Bethel), which is in the land of Canaan, he and all the people who were with him.

7 他 在 那 裡 築 了 一 座 壇 ， 就 給 那 地 方 起 名 叫 伊 勒 伯 特 利 ( 就 是 伯 特 利 之 神 的 意 思 ) ； 因 為 他 逃 避 他 哥 哥 的 時 候 ， 神 在 那 裡 向 他 顯 現 。

And he built an altar there and called the place El Bethel, because there God appeared to him when he fled from the face of his brother.

8 利 百 加 的 奶 母 底 波 拉 死 了 ， 就 葬 在 伯 特 利 下 邊 橡 樹 底 下 ； 那 棵 樹 名 叫 亞 倫 巴 古 。

Now Deborah, Rebekah’s nurse, died, and she was buried below Bethel under the terebinth tree. So the name of it was called Allon Bachuth.

9 雅 各 從 巴 旦 亞 蘭 回 來 ， 神 又 向 他 顯 現 ， 賜 福 與 他 ，

Then God appeared to Jacob again, when he came from Padan Aram, and blessed him.

10 且 對 他 說 ： 你 的 名 原 是 雅 各 ， 從 今 以 後 不 要 再 叫 雅 各 ， 要 叫 以 色 列 。 這 樣 ， 他 就 改 名 叫 以 色 列 。

And God said to him, “Your name is Jacob; your name shall not be called Jacob anymore, but Israel shall be your name.” So He called his name Israel.

11 神 又 對 他 說 ： 我 是 全 能 的 神 ； 你 要 生 養 眾 多 ， 將 來 有 一 族 和 多 國 的 民 從 你 而 生 ， 又 有 君 王 從 你 而 出 。

Also God said to him: “I am God Almighty. Be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall proceed from you, and kings shall come from your body.

12 我 所 賜 給 亞 伯 拉 罕 和 以 撒 的 地 ， 我 要 賜 給 你 與 你 的 後 裔 。

The land which I gave Abraham and Isaac I give to you; and to your descendants after you I give this land.”

13 神 就 從 那 與 雅 各 說 話 的 地 方 升 上 去 了 。

Then God went up from him in the place where He talked with him.

14 雅 各 便 在 那 裡 立 了 一 根 石 柱 ， 在 柱 子 上 奠 酒 ， 澆 油 。

So Jacob set up a pillar in the place where He talked with him, a pillar of stone; and he poured a drink offering on it, and he poured oil on it.

15 雅 各 就 給 那 地 方 起 名 叫 伯 特 利 。

And Jacob called the name of the place where God spoke with him, Bethel. Death of Rachel

16 他 們 從 伯 特 利 起 行 ， 離 以 法 他 還 有 一 段 路 程 ， 拉 結 臨 產 甚 是 艱 難 。

Then they journeyed from Bethel. And when there was but a little distance to go to Ephrath, Rachel labored in childbirth, and she had hard labor.

17 正 在 艱 難 的 時 候 ， 收 生 婆 對 他 說 ： 不 要 怕 ， 你 又 要 得 一 個 兒 子 了 。

Now it came to pass, when she was in hard labor, that the midwife said to her, “Do not fear; you will have this son also.”

18 他 將 近 於 死 ， 靈 魂 要 走 的 時 候 ， 就 給 他 兒 子 起 名 叫 便 俄 尼 ； 他 父 親 卻 給 他 起 名 叫 便 雅 憫 。

And so it was, as her soul was departing (for she died), that she called his name Ben-Oni; but his father called him Benjamin.

19 拉 結 死 了 ， 葬 在 以 法 他 的 路 旁 ； 以 法 他 就 是 伯 利 恆 。

So Rachel died and was buried on the way to Ephrath (that is, Bethlehem).

20 雅 各 在 他 的 墳 上 立 了 一 統 碑 ， 就 是 拉 結 的 墓 碑 ， 到 今 日 還 在 。

And Jacob set a pillar on her grave, which is the pillar of Rachel’s grave to this day.

21 以 色 列 起 行 前 往 ， 在 以 得 臺 那 邊 支 搭 帳 棚 。

Then Israel journeyed and pitched his tent beyond the tower of Eder.

22 以 色 列 住 在 那 地 的 時 候 ， 流 便 去 與 他 父 親 的 妾 辟 拉 同 寢 ， 以 色 列 也 聽 見 了 。 雅 各 共 有 十 二 個 兒 子 。

And it happened, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father’s concubine; and Israel heard about it. Jacob’s Twelve Sons Now the sons of Jacob were twelve:

23 利 亞 所 生 的 是 雅 各 的 長 子 流 便 ， 還 有 西 緬 、 利 未 、 猶 大 、 以 薩 迦 、 西 布 倫 。

the sons of Leah were Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn, and Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun;

24 拉 結 所 生 的 是 約 瑟 、 便 雅 憫 。

the sons of Rachel were Joseph and Benjamin;

25 拉 結 的 使 女 辟 拉 所 生 的 是 但 、 拿 弗 他 利 。

the sons of Bilhah, Rachel’s maidservant, were Dan and Naphtali;

26 利 亞 的 使 女 悉 帕 所 生 的 是 迦 得 、 亞 設 。 這 是 雅 各 在 巴 旦 亞 蘭 所 生 的 兒 子 。

and the sons of Zilpah, Leah’s maidservant, were Gad and Asher. These were the sons of Jacob who were born to him in Padan Aram. Death of Isaac

27 雅 各 來 到 他 父 親 以 撒 那 裡 ， 到 了 基 列 亞 巴 的 幔 利 ， 乃 是 亞 伯 拉 罕 和 以 撒 寄 居 的 地 方 ； 基 列 亞 巴 就 是 希 伯 崙 。

Then Jacob came to his father Isaac at Mamre, or Kirjath Arba (that is, Hebron), where Abraham and Isaac had dwelt.

28 以 撒 共 活 了 一 百 八 十 歲 。

Now the days of Isaac were one hundred and eighty years.

29 以 撒 年 紀 老 邁 ， 日 子 滿 足 ， 氣 絕 而 死 ， 歸 到 他 列 祖 ( 原 文 作 本 民 ) 那 裡 。 他 兩 個 兒 子 以 掃 、 雅 各 把 他 埋 葬 了 。

So Isaac breathed his last and died, and was gathered to his people, being old and full of days. And his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.
