1 ( O cîntare a treptelor.) Ferice de oricine se teme de Domnul, şi umblă pe căile Lui!

Blessed is every one that feareth the Lord; that walketh in his ways.

2 C ăci atunci te bucuri de lucrul mînilor tale, eşti fericit, şi-ţi merge bine.

For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.

3 N evastă-ta este ca o viţă roditoare înlăuntrul casei tale; copiii tăi stau ca nişte lăstari de măslin împrejurul mesei tale.

Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.

4 A şa este binecuvîntat omul care se teme de Domnul.

Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the Lord.

5 S ă te binecuvînteze Domnul din Sion, să vezi fericirea Ierusalimului, în toate zilele vieţii tale,

The Lord shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.

6 ş i să vezi pe copiii copiilor tăi! Pacea să fie peste Israel!

Yea, thou shalt see thy children's children, and peace upon Israel.
