1 » No se turbe vuestro corazón; creéis en Dios, creed también en mí.

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

2 E n la casa de mi Padre muchas moradas hay; si así no fuera, yo os lo hubiera dicho; voy, pues, a preparar lugar para vosotros.

In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3 Y si me voy y os preparo lugar, vendré otra vez y os tomaré a mí mismo, para que donde yo esté, vosotros también estéis.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

4 Y sabéis a dónde voy, y sabéis el camino.

And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

5 L e dijo Tomás: —Señor, no sabemos a dónde vas; ¿cómo, pues, podemos saber el camino?

Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

6 J esús le dijo: —Yo soy el camino, la verdad y la vida; nadie viene al Padre sino por mí.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

7 S i me conocierais, también a mi Padre conoceríais; y desde ahora lo conocéis y lo habéis visto.

If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

8 F elipe le dijo: —Señor, muéstranos el Padre y nos basta.

Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.

9 J esús le dijo: —¿Tanto tiempo hace que estoy con vosotros y no me has conocido, Felipe? El que me ha visto a mí ha visto al Padre; ¿cómo, pues, dices tú: “Muéstranos el Padre”?

Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

10 ¿ No crees que yo soy en el Padre y el Padre en mí? Las palabras que yo os hablo, no las hablo por mi propia cuenta, sino que el Padre, que vive en mí, él hace las obras.

Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

11 C reedme que yo soy en el Padre, y el Padre en mí; de otra manera, creedme por las mismas obras.

Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.

12 » De cierto, de cierto os digo: El que en mí cree, las obras que yo hago, él también las hará; y aun mayores hará, porque yo voy al Padre.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

13 T odo lo que pidáis al Padre en mi nombre, lo haré, para que el Padre sea glorificado en el Hijo.

And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

14 S i algo pedís en mi nombre, yo lo haré. La promesa del Espíritu Santo

If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

15 » Si me amáis, guardad mis mandamientos.

If ye love me, keep my commandments.

16 Y yo rogaré al Padre y os dará otro Consolador, para que esté con vosotros para siempre:

And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

17 e l Espíritu de verdad, al cual el mundo no puede recibir, porque no lo ve ni lo conoce; pero vosotros lo conocéis, porque vive con vosotros y estará en vosotros.

even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

18 » No os dejaré huérfanos; volveré a vosotros.

I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

19 T odavía un poco, y el mundo no me verá más, pero vosotros me veréis; porque yo vivo, vosotros también viviréis.

Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.

20 E n aquel día vosotros conoceréis que yo estoy en mi Padre, y vosotros en mí y yo en vosotros.

At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.

21 E l que tiene mis mandamientos y los guarda, ése es el que me ama; y el que me ama será amado por mi Padre, y yo lo amaré y me manifestaré a él.

He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

22 L e dijo Judas (no el Iscariote): —Señor, ¿cómo es que te manifestarás a nosotros y no al mundo?

Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?

23 R espondió Jesús y le dijo: —El que me ama, mi palabra guardará; y mi Padre lo amará, y vendremos a él y haremos morada con él.

Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

24 E l que no me ama no guarda mis palabras; y la palabra que habéis oído no es mía, sino del Padre que me envió.

He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.

25 » Os he dicho estas cosas estando con vosotros.

These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.

26 P ero el Consolador, el Espíritu Santo, a quien el Padre enviará en mi nombre, él os enseñará todas las cosas y os recordará todo lo que yo os he dicho.

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

27 » La paz os dejo, mi paz os doy; yo no os la doy como el mundo la da. No se turbe vuestro corazón ni tenga miedo.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

28 H abéis oído que yo os he dicho: “Voy, y vuelvo a vosotros.” Si me amarais, os habríais regocijado, porque he dicho que voy al Padre, porque el Padre mayor es que yo.

Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

29 Y ahora os lo he dicho antes que suceda, para que, cuando suceda, creáis.

And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.

30 N o hablaré ya mucho con vosotros, porque viene el príncipe de este mundo y él nada tiene en mí.

Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

31 P ero para que el mundo conozca que amo al Padre, y como el Padre me mandó, así hago. »¡Levantaos, vámonos de aquí!

But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.
