1 T he fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity; There is none that doeth good.

2 G od looked down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there were any that did understand, That did seek after God.
God looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand, who seek God.
3 E very one of them is gone back; they are together become filthy; There is none that doeth good, no, not one.
Every one of them has turned aside; They have together become corrupt; There is none who does good, No, not one.
4 H ave the workers of iniquity no knowledge, Who eat up my people as they eat bread, And call not upon God?
Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge, Who eat up my people as they eat bread, And do not call upon God?
5 T here were they in great fear, where no fear was; For God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: Thou hast put them to shame, because of God hath rejected them.
There they are in great fear Where no fear was, For God has scattered the bones of him who encamps against you; You have put them to shame, Because God has despised them.
6 O h that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God bringeth back the captivity of his people, Then shall Jacob rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.
Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When God brings back the captivity of His people, Let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad.
