1 P raise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.

2 L et Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.

Israel freue sich des, der es gemacht hat; die Kinder Zions seien fröhlich über ihren König.

3 L et them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.

Sie sollen loben seinen Namen im Reigen; mit Pauken und Harfen sollen sie ihm spielen.

4 F or the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.

Denn der HERR hat Wohlgefallen an seinem Volk; er hilft den Elenden herrlich.

5 L et the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.

Die Heiligen sollen fröhlich sein und preisen und rühmen auf ihren Lagern.

6 L et the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand;

Ihr Mund soll Gott erheben, und sie sollen scharfe Schwerter in ihren Händen haben,

7 t o execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;

daß sie Rache üben unter den Heiden, Strafe unter den Völkern;

8 t o bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;

ihre Könige zu binden mit Ketten und ihre Edlen mit eisernen Fesseln;

9 t o execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the Lord.

daß sie ihnen tun das Recht, davon geschrieben ist. Solche Ehre werden alle seine Heiligen haben. Halleluja!
