1 A t this also my heart trembleth, and is moved out of his place.

A ESTO también se espanta mi corazón, Y salta de su lugar.

2 H ear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth.

Oid atentamente su voz terrible, y el sonido que sale de su boca.

3 H e directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.

Debajo de todos los cielos lo dirige, Y su luz hasta los fines de la tierra.

4 A fter it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard.

Después de ella bramará el sonido, Tronará él con la voz de su magnificencia; Y aunque sea oída su voz, no los detiene.

5 G od thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.

Tronará Dios maravillosamente con su voz; El hace grandes cosas, que nosotros no entendemos.

6 F or he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength.

Porque á la nieve dice: Desciende á la tierra; También á la llovizna, Y á los aguaceros de su fortaleza.

7 H e sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.

Así hace retirarse á todo hombre, Para que los hombres todos reconozcan su obra.

8 T hen the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places.

La bestia se entrará en su escondrijo, Y estaráse en sus moradas.

9 O ut of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north.

Del mediodía viene el torbellino, Y el frío de los vientos del norte.

10 B y the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.

Por el soplo de Dios se da el hielo, Y las anchas aguas son constreñidas.

11 A lso by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud:

Regando también llega á disipar la densa nube, Y con su luz esparce la niebla.

12 a nd it is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the world in the earth.

Asimismo por sus designios se revuelven las nubes en derredor, Para hacer sobre la haz del mundo, En la tierra, lo que él les mandara.

13 H e causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy.

Unas veces por azote, otras pos causa de su tierra, Otras por misericordia las hará parecer.

14 H earken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.

Escucha esto, Job; Repósate, y considera las maravillas de Dios.

15 D ost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?

¿Supiste tú cuándo Dios las ponía en concierto, Y hacía levantar la luz de su nube?

16 D ost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge?

¿Has tú conocido las diferencias de las nubes, Las maravillas del Perfecto en sabiduría?

17 H ow thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?

¿Por qué están calientes tus vestidos Cuando se fija el viento del mediodía sobre la tierra?

18 H ast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?

¿Extendiste tú con él los cielos, Firmes como un espejo sólido?

19 T each us what we shall say unto him; for we cannot order our speech by reason of darkness.

Muéstranos qué le hemos de decir; Porque nosotros no podemos componer las ideas á causa de las tinieblas.

20 S hall it be told him that I speak? if a man speak, surely he shall be swallowed up.

¿Será preciso contarle cuando yo hablaré? Por más que el hombre razone, quedará como abismado.

21 A nd now men see not the bright light which is in the clouds: but the wind passeth, and cleanseth them.

He aquí aún: no se puede mirar la luz esplendente en los cielos, Luego que pasa el viento y los limpia,

22 F air weather cometh out of the north: with God is terrible majesty.

Viniendo de la parte del norte la dorada claridad. En Dios hay una majestad terrible.

23 T ouching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.

El es Todopoderoso, al cual no alcanzamos, grande en potencia; Y en juicio y en multitud de justicia no afligirá.

24 M en do therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of heart.

Temerlo han por tanto los hombres: El no mira á los sabios de corazón.
