1 T rezeşte-te, trezeşte-te! îmbracă-te în podoaba ta, Sioane! Pune-ţi hainele de sărbătoare, Ierusalime, cetate sfîntă! Căci nu va mai intra în tine nici un om netăiat împrejur sau necurat.

Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.

2 S cutură-ţi ţărîna de pe tine, scoală-te, şi şezi în capul oaselor, Ierusalime! Desleagă-ţi legăturile dela gît, fiică, roabă a Sionului!

Shake thyself from the dust; arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.

3 C ăci aşa vorbeşte Domnul:, Fără plată aţi fost vînduţi, şi nu veţi fi răscumpăraţi cu preţ de argint.`

For thus saith the Lord, Ye have sold yourselves for nought; and ye shall be redeemed without money.

4 C ăci aşa vorbeşte Domnul Dumnezeu:, Odinioară poporul Meu s'a pogorît să locuiască pentru o vreme în Egipt; apoi Asirianul l -a asuprit fără temei.

For thus saith the Lord God, My people went down aforetime into Egypt to sojourn there; and the Assyrian oppressed them without cause.

5 Ş i acum, ce am să fac aici-zice Domnul-cînd poporul Meu a fost luat pe nimic?``,, Asupritorii lui strigă de bucurie-zice Domnul-şi cît e ziulica de mare este batjocorit Numele Meu.

Now therefore, what have I here, saith the Lord, that my people is taken away for nought? they that rule over them make them to howl, saith the Lord; and my name continually every day is blasphemed.

6 D e aceea poporul Meu va cunoaşte Numele Meu; de aceea va şti, în ziua aceea, că Eu vorbesc şi zic:, Iată-Mă!`

Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I.

7 C e frumoase sînt pe munţi, picioarele celui ce aduce veşti bune, care vesteşte pacea, picioarele celui ce aduce veşti bune, care vesteşte mîntuirea! Picioarele celui ce zice Sionului:, Dumnezeul tău împărăţeşte!``

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!

8 I ată, glasul străjerilor tăi răsună; ei înalţă glasul, şi strigă toţi de veselie; căci văd cu ochii lor cum Se întoarce Domnul în Sion.

Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the Lord shall bring again Zion.

9 I zbucniţi cu toate în strigăte de bucurie, dărămături ale Ierusalimului! Căci Domnul mîngîie pe poporul Său, şi răscumpără Ierusalimul.

Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the Lord hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.

10 D omnul Îşi descopere braţul Său cel sfînt, înaintea tuturor neamurilor; şi toate marginile pămîntului vor vedea mîntuirea Dumnezeului nostru.``

The Lord hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.

11 P lecaţi, plecaţi, ieşiţi din Babilon! Nu vă atingeţi de nimic necurat! Ieşiţi din mijlocul lui! Curăţiţi-vă, cei ce purtaţi vasele Domnului!

Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the Lord.

12 N u ieşiţi cu grabă, nu plecaţi în fugă; căci Domnul vă va ieşi înainte şi Dumnezeul lui Israel vă va tăia calea.``

For ye shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the Lord will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your rereward.

13 I ată, Robul Meu va propăşi; Se va sui, Se va ridica, Se va înălţa foarte sus.

Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high.

14 D upă cum pentru mulţi a fost o pricină de groază-atît de schimonosită Îi era faţa, şi atît de mult se deosebea înfăţişarea Lui de a fiilor oamenilor-

As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:

15 t ot aşa, pentru multe popoare va fi o pricină de bucurie; înaintea Lui împăraţii vor închide gura, căci vor vedea ce nu li se mai istorisise, şi vor auzi ce nu mai auziseră.

so shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider.
