1 L ord, I cry out to You; Make haste to me! Give ear to my voice when I cry out to You.

O Lord, I call upon You; hasten to me! Give ear to my voice when I call to You!

2 L et my prayer be set before You as incense, The lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

May my prayer be counted as incense before You; The lifting up of my hands as the evening offering.

3 S et a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips.

Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips.

4 D o not incline my heart to any evil thing, To practice wicked works With men who work iniquity; And do not let me eat of their delicacies.

Do not incline my heart to any evil thing, To practice deeds of wickedness With men who do iniquity; And do not let me eat of their delicacies.

5 L et the righteous strike me; It shall be a kindness. And let him rebuke me; It shall be as excellent oil; Let my head not refuse it. For still my prayer is against the deeds of the wicked.

Let the righteous smite me in kindness and reprove me; It is oil upon the head; Do not let my head refuse it, For still my prayer is against their wicked deeds.

6 T heir judges are overthrown by the sides of the cliff, And they hear my words, for they are sweet.

Their judges are thrown down by the sides of the rock, And they hear my words, for they are pleasant.

7 O ur bones are scattered at the mouth of the grave, As when one plows and breaks up the earth.

As when one plows and breaks open the earth, Our bones have been scattered at the mouth of Sheol.

8 B ut my eyes are upon You, O G OD the Lord; In You I take refuge; Do not leave my soul destitute.

For my eyes are toward You, O God, the Lord; In You I take refuge; do not leave me defenseless.

9 K eep me from the snares they have laid for me, And from the traps of the workers of iniquity.

Keep me from the jaws of the trap which they have set for me, And from the snares of those who do iniquity.

10 L et the wicked fall into their own nets, While I escape safely.

Let the wicked fall into their own nets, While I pass by safely.
